Great location of this hotel let you get in a 15-20 min to the Coloseo and Foro Romano and behind is station Termini and around cheap eating.Just 5 min to get to the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, and there are taxi drivers too.
We booked this hotel as it was cheaper than other hotels and in a good location. Less than a 5 minute walk from the hop on/hop off bus, walking distance from the Colosseum (10 mins) and other must see attractions. Plenty of restaurants and souvenir/snack shops around the hotel. Friendly staff, available 24/7. Small, clean hotel and old fashioned decor (which added to the atmosphere of being in Rome). Air con and controls in the room. Breakfast was average, not a vast choice of things (few cereals, bread, fruit, yogurt, tea, cheese/ham) and the milk was warm. Room cleaned daily.Towels and small shampoo/body wash provided. The maid left our door open one day and when we complained we were asked if it could have been us and didn't receive an apology, which we didn't appreciate. Luckily we used the safe in the room for our valuables and nothing had been taken. You also had to leave your room key with reception when you left the hotel which we found a bit odd, but that's not a big deal. Would recommend for a short stay.
Was recommended this hotel. For peaceful and good location. Good location yes. But very noisy. No mini bar. No air conditioning.as stated. Breakfast was a joke. We went for breakfast every morning at 8.30 there was crumbs of bread. And all sweet croissants. When asked for ham and cheese on 2 occasions was told they ran out of ham! The room was small but clean with towels changed daily
Clean and friendly hotel near to the termini, lovely shop next door selling booze, snacks and plug adaptors. Can walk to termini and coliseum easily. Staff couldn't have been nicer. Free maps in reception
We booked 2 rooms: double and triple. The triple was good size, like a suite. Single was pull out, but comfortable enough. Huge TV (obviously almost all italian language). Mattresses thin memory foam types. Needed more pillows. Room clean. Double was OK size, but bathroom quite compact - but not major problem unless you are very large or more than one in there. Shower powerful and hot. Much smaller TV. No kettle, but sign on check in tells you about a getting one with returnable deposit. Rooms have small safe. Apart from 24hr desk, a lot like a good sized B&B in terms of facilities. Nice continental breakfast/buffet, have as much as you like. Cheese and meat selection on request. Espresso also available on request. Breakfast room is covered courtyard. Check in easy enough, paid tax on arrival. Hand keys in when you leave hotel and collect when you return. Not a chic area of Rome, but no threat sensed. Little shop, bar/restaurant on same stretch. Easy to find as near to termini and right by St Maria Maggiore. Straightish run to Trevi and Spanish Steps. A/C in rooms, but no controls - so guess operated centrally or remotes issued in hot weather. Good hotel for the price. Would have no problem returning.
We booked through easyjet, the hotel, flights and transfers. Couldn't find fault with the package, good help from people in airport to find desk to pick up taxi, black type cab seats 8 for four. Both drivers show you how to test drive a taxi, worth the money on it's own.Hotel good, clean sheets changed daily, breakfast continental ,don't try to brown your toast you will be their all day. Just outside hotel turn right for the s.maria maggiore you will be looking at the rear so walk up around to the front as good as Vatican, smaller. From hotel you can walk to,Colosseum will their lookout the Basilica di Massenzio,it is on all maps next to Colosseum. All other sites within walking distance, we took taxi to Vatican, this was the only down point, WHEN PAYING TAXI DRIVER make a point of counting out the fare, if you don't you may find that you have not given the right amount, be ready ,it happen to us once but return trip I was sure that I had given the right amount. End of.
We found our room, on the second floor, to be more than adequate for the week we were there. It was quiet, towels were changed regularly and it was clean. The shower was a bit small with only a curtain that you drew round it, a bit awkward to have a proper shower and wash your hair properly. The breakfast was good with ample choice. A good central location for sightseeing with a lot of places easily in walking distance and the bus service was just up the road in the square. All the staff were really helpful and friendly especially Julie. The restaurant next door is great, staff friendly and reasonable prices.
My stay here with my family was decent enough. I didn’t have any problems, but the hotel is 3 star and I wouldn’t say it was any better than that. It’s a budget hotel so you know what you’re getting. The staff are friendly and the hotel/rooms are clean. But, the rooms are very small and the bed was very hard (luckily for us we don’t mind a firm bed, although it was a little firm even by our standards) I stayed in a double room with my daughter and we were getting in each others way. There was just space to walk around the bed and the wardrobe. The shower was more triangular than a cubicle and there wasn’t really enough room for a shower, let alone wash hair too (and we aren’t large people!) Our room also had a balcony which was quite nice. The breakfast was ok. The only thing I really didn’t like was the noise from other rooms. There are a lot of rooms squeezed in to each floor. I could hear the couple next door talking loudly at around midnight and someone on the floor above seemed to be stamping their feet every 30 seconds or so until 3am. The floors in the rooms are tiled, so it really is noisy.
Hotel was exactly what we needed, in a good location with comfy bed, with a balcony as a bonus (a shame there was no table or chairs though) . It is basic and not the largest of rooms, but the breakfast was great and having an around the clock concierge was welcomed.
Visited Rome for the first time to celebrate my 60th birthday this hotel was brilliant. Close to Hop on Hop off buss stop, selection of restaurants in surrounding streets to suit all tastes and budgets but recommend the restaurant next door. Bedroom just right for our four day trip however beware of the shower very temperamental goes hot to cold and vice versa very quickly otherwise everything top notch. Continental breakfast just right and staff very pleasant. Will definitely use this hotel for our next trip to finish off our sightseeing- thank you Hotel Verona
