Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. From the moment my family and I checked in, they didn’t explain that you needed to insert your card in a switch to get the lights to work, so we walked into a pitch dark room thinking the lights were broken. Only after we went down, they explained what we had to do. We also assumed the doors lock automatically, until we realized they don’t. You need a key — which they didn’t give or tell us about till our 3rd night when we asked them. The hotel is huge, but there is only one iron for the entire building that house keeping always has. It took us about 3 days to get access to it. The bathrooms and hallways smell like sewage. The sheets weren’t even changed everyday! The worst part, we were promised air conditioning as one of our amenities. During my entire trip (4 days, 5 nights) there was NO AC! They kept telling us it was broken, and every day would be the day that they fixed it but they never did, and after the second day, they stopped giving us updates about it. My family and I woke up sweating everyday. It was horrible. If I knew this all coming in, I’d just book a hotel closer to the center city. It’d be so much more worth it because we ended up spending hundreds of dollars on taxis anyways. I have no idea who rated this hotel 4 stars because it definitely is not. Please spend your money on any other hotel besides this one.

The rooms look modern but they are dark, dark metal furniture throughout the hotel, air con in room did not work properly, hotel receptionist was not very friendly, she was in a bad mood most of the time, making a coffee was too hard for her, Stayed as a group with Trafalgar and not enough seats at Breakfast time for the whole group. Overall the hotel was not nice.

Very very basic, definitely not 4 star. No tea or coffee facilities, no room service and we had to request bath towels. It’s in a not nice area, a fair way from anything. The whole place has a dark feel, with metal everywhere. The room is small and our extra bed was nothing more than 140cm cot style foldable with a 2cm mattress, so my feet stuck out and a sore back - if they couldn’t accommodate a triple they should have told us. There is absolutely nothing good to say about the bathroom, we measured the shower it’s 40cm seriously, how embarrassing for one of us not to fit into the shower properly. Breakfast was standard fare, at least the tea and coffee were hot.

Not very near tourist areas but public transport not far away.10 min walk to tram to near Parliament which is near Forum etc. or bus to near Vatican. Good eating nearby but shop around for prices. supermarket nearby. Accommodation was good and staff were pleasant and generally helpful. Facilities average. Price reasonable.

We were traveling with Trafalgar Tours and promised four and five star hotels. The stars given here are exclusively for the staff at the V99. The hotel itself is located approximately 20 minutes outside of Rome’s center in a run down area. The accommodations were Spartan. Our room allowed for very little walking room around the bed and little area to open any suitcases. The shower was very slippery with sporadic hot water. The staff, however, was wonderful, responding instantly to any problems that surfaced. Without their prompt and friendly responses our stay in Rome would have been far worse.

Spent two nights here on a group tour of Rome and we were less than impressed. The rooms were sparsely decorated with steel industrial style night stands and a chair. Rooms were clean and had fresh towels daily. The bar had a difficult time in serving drinks and the breakfast was an attempt of the traditional Italian fare. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The hotel location was less than desirable being in a residential area with vey few local restaurants and shops.

I would really recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Rome for a few days, while it is a couple of miles away from the major tourists sites there is a tram and bus service. But I would like to personally thank Sabrina (don't know if I spelt her name correctly) for all the help that she gave me over the 5 days that I stayed there. I had to go to Rome cause the week before, my father had an accident and he ended up in hospital. I had to choose a hotel that was near the hospital and that's how I ended up choosing this hotel, which I am glad I did. Sabrina helped me change my booking so when my father got discharged I could have my father in my room so that I can keep an eye on him until we flew home on the Friday. Grazie mille Sabrina. All the staff were excellent and all with a smile. This is also the best hotel I have been too that has excellent WiFi coverage including my room.

We stayed here for 3 nights after having a very bad experience with another hotel the night before, and I’m so glad we chose to move to this hotel. Staff are very helpful and can speak good English, the rooms are modern, clean and have everything you need. We needed an iron whilst we was at the hotel and the gentleman on the reception found us one & brought it up to the room. There is also a tram that runs straight into the city centre (5 minute walk away) and bus stop directly outside of the hotel! I would definitely recommend!

We stayed for a couple of weeks and it was a great stay. The staff was very friendly and willing to help. If you are expecting walking distance to touristic attractions you should be booking elsewhere and directly in the chaos of city center. The v99 hotel is located in a centric neighborhood near the Trastevere train station and easy access to buses and trams. There are also good restaurants nearby (ie Rossovino da Maurizio in via Jenner) and good local shopping in via dei Colli Portuensi and via Jenner. The hotel is still under construction so as of December 2017 they offer only breakfast however this didn’t bother me as I was out most of the day. The rooms were clean and I can’t say enough good things about the staff.

This hotel is located in the residential area of Rome, away from the tourist destinations. This is fine for us as everything around there is cheaper. You will rack up on taxi cab fares if you don't feel comfortable taking the bus though. The room was nice and clean but the modern amenities were not functional. For example, in the shower, there's no where to put your shampoo or body wash so you have to put it on the ground. The hotel staff were not very helpful. We asked directions to Rome Termini but they couldn't help us get there. Luckily we had google maps. Something also odd is that at 1:30 a.m., a hotel staff entered into our hotel room. I have just taken a shower and laid down, was texting my friends, when I heard rattling at the door. Someone used a KEY, not just a hotel key, but a master key. The door opened and a man entered. I screamed and they closed the door and ran. My husband opened the door and saw the man making his way towards the elevator. He asked him what he wanted but he didn't speak English. The next morning around 6 am we came downstairs and asked the two staff members at the front desk, one being the one that came into our room, why did he enter and why that time of night? The other guy who spoke English said that we must have been mistaken, but we insisted. That's when they started speaking Italian and said "Oh it was a mistake. Everything's okay now."What kind of mistake? We kept asking but he kept saying, "Everything's ok." No explanation. Shouldn't we be the one telling them if it's okay or not? They're the one violating our privacy. Anyways - wouldn't recommend this hotel. Very weird.
