The location is perfect, you can reach everything on foot. The staff was really helpful and everything was perfect. The room was good - small but very comfortable and clean. Special thanks to Guiseppe, he was really helpful and kind with us.
We stayed at the hotel for 10 days in October of this year and concur with others comments. Everyone was wonderful to work with- Giuseppe always goes the extra mile to make sure every request is taken care of. We'd highly recommend this hotel. - The Finnerans
We stayed here for 3 nights and was really pleased with the hotel. Guiseppe made us feel very welcome and was extremely helpful. Room was spotless and decorated well. Breakfast was good. The lift was an experience in itself. So cute. We loved the location of the hotel because we didnt want to be in the tourist part but was close enough to reach vatican in less than 10 minutes and the colusseum, trevi fountains etc we walked too in about 30 minutes viewing lots of sites on the way. The only improvement i could say this hotel needs is to have Tea/coffee making facilties available all day. After hours of walking a nice cup of tea at the end of the day would of been perfect. We would definitely recommend this hotel
Stayed there for 4nights last week, very clean, helpful staff, good breakfast 10mins walk from the Vatican, as others have said hotel is on upper floors of the building via a very old quirky lift but luggage was portered to our room and back to the door when leaving, because of steps up to the lift this hotel is not suitable for wheelchair users, I would use again.
The prior reviews for this hotel are accurate. Check in on 4th fl using lift designed for perhaps 2 people max perhaps dated to the years of the first Caesar. Efficient and quaint. Rooms are unique. Perhaps standard for Europeans but anyone larger than 6'4" and 200lbs will find the shower amazingly small. Assuming you are not coming to spend a lot of time in your room it is fine. Best part? Daniel and his help at the front desk. Perhaps have never had better attention and generous service provided. Willing to answer any question and willing to help give out travel advice. Whatever he is getting paid....should be doubled. He makes this hotel special!
Let me start by saying that the elevator is the funniest/cutest thing I have ever seen! It's from the 1900s (it's very very small) I was able to stuff my husband and our luggage in it, i took the stars. But it gets the job done especially when your on the 5th floor. The staff are incredibly sweet. They gave us a lot of information, where we could grab something to eat also places we should go to first! We were able to book a tour and it came out cheaper doing it thru the hotel then actually going somewhere else. They even helped us order food to get it delivered to the hotel (we were extremely tired from walking around all day) lol. We upgraded our room. The room was big and spacious. It seems like it just got renovated. My only pet peeve was that the shower/jacuzzi was in the corner of the room. It wasn't in the bathroom. The wifi worked great! The only issue I really had was with the AC. It wasn't working properly on the first night. But by the second day towards the evening I could actually feel the AC working. Overall very happy with our stay! The Vatican is only 10min away (by foot). You also have the metro station which was only 7min away. If you want to get to the Colosseum just take the metro and you'll be there in 20min tops! Will definitely be back!
We arrived at this hotel to be greeted by the most quirky lift ever which was the original lift from the 1900's. It was tiny but effective! The quirkiness did not stop there! The rooms are all individually decorated in particular themes, absolutely gorgeous! Breakfast was substantial and plenty of it. The location was brilliant to all the places of interest. Daniel behind the desk was helpful, actually all the staff we met were great and offered advice on places to eat and visiting museums. My only concerns is that our bathrooms (we had adjoining rooms which was great) were small and needed some modernisation and revamp. A pleasant stay and suitable for a short break only, we stayed for 4 nights and got to see most of the sites.
The best thing about this hotel was the staff. They really did the best with what they had to work with. They were able to arrange local tours, transportation and gave us tips on amazing local dining. I give it a 4 based on the staff alone. The hotel itself was unimpressive. Very small (even by European standards) and we gave up on the 4 person (max) elevator the first night and decided for the next two nights to just walk up and down the 4 flights of stairs to get to the hotel (the first 4 floors are residential apartments.) I suppose it's a 3 star because there is a bathroom in the room; but just barely. Several of the guys in our group had difficulty fitting in the shower - alone! Other than that it was clean and they had a good hearty breakfast. The hotel is within walking distance of the Vatican but most of the other sights required a taxi or metro ride.
I just need a safe, quiet, and comfortable place to sleep. This hotel was my third hotel in Rome. It met my needs, but liked the other hotels better. If I come back, I would try a different hotel then this one. - Safety. I felt safe in the hotel and walking around the neighborhood. - Quiet. I had 2 rooms on the 4th floor. At night, it's quiet and easy to sleep. Starting at around 6AM, they start preparing for breakfast, and then guests walked down the hallway. So it gets noisy starting at 6AM. There are more expensive rooms on the 5th floor that I assume will be quiet all the time. - Comfortable. I felt like the beds are hard, even for Italy standards. Other considerations: - The front desk guys are super helpful about arranging tours for you and recommending places to eat. He'll get you a taxi from the airport also. - Breakfast was not as good compared to other similar hotels that I stayed at in Rome.
We loved staying here. It was easy to find in a quiet neighborhood. The staff was so helpful and we were so close to the Vatican. Breakfast was great every morning. We highly recommend this hotel. The metro was very close as well.
