We booked for middle of August; the hotel is well located within walking distance of all main attractions in Rome - furthest being the Vatican around 45 mins walk. As is typical in Rome this hotel entrance is via doorway between shops with rooms above the shops and businesses below. Staff are polite and helpful - especially Ihab who helped us throughout our stay. The hotel advertises as a 3 star with an option of 4 star via the 'Vibe' range of rooms. We booked 2 rooms for family. The rooms are 4 star standard if a little small and not quite 'suite'; both rooms had a few marks on the walls from cases or shoes that need repainting - nothing serious but detail. The second room we booked should have had 2 single beds as requested in the notes of our booking; they got a double bed. Another room was available after a couple of nights but not worth changing by then. Details again - sorry. Breakfast is continental style and limited, muesli or cornflakes, croissants - all filled with custard or Nutella type fillings, bread rolls, ham and cheese. No hot options at all which is disappointing. Coffee and tea are acceptable but not to high standards. Lastly, if a machine says 'orange juice' please dispense juice from oranges not orange squash made with water - many hotels do this. The negatives are manageable and if you book early the cost is good. I would use the hotel again if I booked early and got a good price; at full price it is okay but I would look around. Overall, a good stay and glad we booked.
Amazing location, wonderfull breakfast and friendly staff! Could not ask for more! Our room was an interior room, spacious and with brand new furniture. Love the historical building and the location is the best one you can have in Rome. I already booked my next stay!!
Tucked in on one of the busiest streets of Rome where everything is in walking distance; historical sites, restaurants and shopping! We were greeted by friendly staff members who were very welcoming and accommodating. Our room on the third floor was spacious, clean, and modern. The ceiling had a historic painting from the 1800's, which was stunning! Windows are soundproof which was a huge plus as our room was facing the busy street of Nazionale, not to mention the bed was huge and very comfortable! The room overall was spacious with a walk-in closet and a coffee machine. Bathroom was large, clean and designed with beautiful marble! The hotel was great value for money! I would recommend anyone to stay here during their trip!!
We took pot luck in choosing a hotel in Rome and were not disappointed. A lovely, clean room with everything you needed for a three night stay. Located on Via Nationale, it was central for seeing the sights with a taxi rank just over the road as well as bus stops. In the vicinity were bars, restaurants, shops and lots more. The continental breakfast at the hotel was very good with a range of items including coffees, teas, juices, cheese, ham, pastries, yogurts, fruit, hard-boiled eggs, cereals, and bread rolls. The lounge area was comfortable with a Far Eastern touch reflected by the furniture and ornaments/trinkets. We found it cool and calming. On the down side, the lift was a bit of a tight squeeze, but I suppose was part of the olde worlde charm and ambience of the building. Staff were generally helpful and obliging, although some had very limited English.
I prepaid for my 2 day stay. I arrived at 2am on the second day since I had a late flight. We were told that they had trouble with the plumbing of my room and that I got moved to a different hotel. The new hotel had rates advertised for half of what I had originally paid. No refunds or apologies were offered.
This hotel completely ruined our vacation. The room was FLITHY, nothing as pictured, our view was terrible, the staff were rude and careless, the door frame was broken, the shower was broken, the doors to the room and bathroom broken, the beds were rollaway, the breakfast was inedible. We had numerous conversations with the staff as the room we booked was nothing as pictured and the view we paid additional for we did not have access to without essentially climbing out the window, but they didn't care as all purchases were nonrefundable. We attempted contacting Expedia, the hotel gave us an extremely hard time and constantly tried to get us to stop -- eventually they placed us in a "suite" for the night while they painted and fixed the doors in our room, the suite was smaller than a holiday in express room and probably less quaility but has a better view. we were returned to our room with little change but a coat of paint; they told Expedia they'd put us in a suite for two more nights but of corse didn't. This is an absolute scam! It's worse than a motel and made us extremely uncomfortable for the entirety of our duration.
Very basic but the location is fab and that to me is the most important when visiting a city where's there so much to see and do. For what we paid (£180 for 3 nights) we can't complain. Staff are friendly. Breakfast was good. Our room was ok..yeah it's a bit small but we never spent much time in it. It did the job to be honest. The air con was rubbish to be honest the room never felt cool and we left air con on all day :( the last thing you want is a stuffy room when it's 36 degrees outside... Best thing about this hotel is it's location. You can walk to the Trevi fountain, Spanish Steps, pantheon and colisseum :) Rome is AMAZING! Nothing could of spoilt it 😍
Our whole experience from checking in to moving into our rooms in this hotel have been horrible, the rooms do not look like the photos, the walls and floors in our rooms were dirty, towls threadbare and the most horrible throws over the beds, we brought our concerns to the attention of the rude manager at reception who just said that the hotel is full and they cannot move us!! We immediately left the hotel and booked into another hotel. Do not stay at this hotel, avoid at any cost!
The room was exactly as it looked like in the pictures with working free wifi and thankfully a great Aircon to defeat the hot weather in Rome. Location is the best in Rome, not only was it close to the main attractions but also to the main train station for easy access to the airport. The breakfast was filling and they also made special attention to my lactose intolerance! The staff was helpful and kept my suitcase after check out. Thanks Giolli staff!
Very comfy and elegant bedroom in a particularly Roman hotel with marble floors and a magnificent view of the Colosseum. Excellent service and amazing location. very recommended! Thank you staff Giolli and will be back soon!
