We hadn’t booked this hotel but the one we had booked was full so they moved us to there sister hotel. The rooms had recently been refurbished so were beautifully clean and comfortable. But I don’t think they were finished as there were no pictures on the walls and wires still bare on the ceiling. Not dangerous but untidy. Location was ok but still a lot of walking. Lots of very nice restaurants close by. Breakfast was fine.
Will I guess the fact they have workmen in is a good thing. But the place is a run down flea pit. Lifts and lobby smell of cigarettes. Noise from works all day. Shower is a dribble. Single room could barely get my belly in. And all for an over priced fee.
Decided to book this hotel after being told it was being refurbished. Requested one of the refurbished rooms prior to arriving (by email direct to the hotel). Room really small for a standard room. On the surface room looked clean but light fittings very dusty. laminate flooring not particularly clean. We stayed on the second floor only one small lift. no signs anywhere showing emergency exits. We walked along a very long passageway and round a corner and eventually found and emergency exit which said fire door keep closed but it was open. Quite scary for a hotel. Breakfast not brilliant cheese, ham, cereals toast and cake and yoghurts. Do not think that this hotel can claim 3 stars, more like 2.
We have just spent 6 nights at this hotel and were so disappointed with the room, we booked through British Airways and this was our 4th city break with BA. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly and helpful receptionist called Igor, we had previously received an email from BA informing us that there was work going on in the hotel as it was being renovated. When we got to our room we were shocked at the condition of it, it was clean but mould was present all around the ceiling in the bathroom, the tiles needed replacing, the paint on the walls in the bedroom was all chipped and flaking, need I go on. For a 3 star hotel it just didn't make the grade, unfortunately the hotel was full so no chance of a room move, I wanted to check out and go to another hotel but too expensive! Good points-the air con worked really well in the room and the bed, although basic was comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was adequate. The hotel is well located for the centre and the area quiet at night. Unfortunately the desk staff need a refurb too, apart from the lovely Igor they only spoke or acknowledged you if you did so first. We didn't see any work carried out while we were there, the ceilings in the corridors are bare plasterboard and polystyrene tiles which are falling off. Needless to say we will not return.
It's the second time i book this hotel, and I'm never doing it again. Attention is regular to bad, depending on the host, the good thing is that they try to speak spanish, effort that I respected them for. Now, about the ROOMS, one of them was filled with mold all over the windows, and the whole room stinked to WC, it was very very dark even with all the lights on and they wouldn't change this room because apparently they were full. About the other room (which BTW was the one we staid in 2 years ago) was a lot bigger, although this one had the mold all over the shower, both ceiling and floor. We couldnt even dare to shower there. Went back to front desk and it was like they didn't even care. All that level (level 1) was apparently being under repairs, but never saw anyone doing any work, it was all an awful experience. On our last night the WC of the moldy room got broken and when we called for them to fix it they dared to give my parents (a 70ish years old couple) a bucket so they could fill it in the shower and help thempselves out. I mean!!!!!! Regarding to the breakfast, it was very limited, the milk was sour both days we stayed, the butter was expired for 1 year, ONE YEAR!!!! Oh and they still charged us the city tax on our check out. It's a shame, because it has a great location, but I'm sure I'm not repeating the same mistake, I would even take 2 stars away from them. It's a shame really. I don't recomend it at all.
The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to many sights. It is very cheap compared to Rome hotel price. Here is why: It looks like its getting renovated...(unfortunatelly we were not placed in one of the renovated rooms ) Everywhere the walls are dirty, the paint is falling off, the room was clean, but very dark, with light only next to the bed. No hot water at the evening, so make sure you dont sweat too much during the day while shightseeing.... we only had hot water in the mornings... The staff wasn't too friendly, or helpful. All in all it was okay for the 3 nights we spent there, since we stayed most of the day away from the hotel, and like I mentioned before the price was very low, but I am not sure I would stay here again. Maybe after they finish renovations.
So I'll set the scene...moved here from a 4 star hotel due to power issues, apparently! In a bad mood but thought every cloud! Firstly the hotel is clearly trying to improve its weaknesses so in a few months time this review could be expendable. We arrived and we're greeted with no issues, and taken to our room via the smallest lift I've ever been in, and quite possibly oldest! If you are above a 38 waist you'll struggle! Now this part of the hotel is also shared with people in flats, made me feel very uneasy! The room was newish but had lots of problems...it was unclean;hairs, Coke can, dirty toilet etc. We complained in true British fashion and were moved to a completely brand new never used before room. It was brilliant and super clean! Breakfast was basic and no real personal touches added. Hopefully in a few months time this hotel will have improved a lot.
Recently returned from Rome for my wife birthday. I chose Flavia due to it's location and the surprisingly low cost. The man on reception when we arrived - approx 6pm - was very friendly and helpful. He pointed put places of interest on the map and put a line through the best route to get to these places. The room was a very good size but the walls were extremely dirty. The hotel is being decorated so if you are not fussy, do not spend a lot of time in your room and want a cheap break this hotel is ideal. I have no doubt once the refurb is complete prices will rise. The decorated rooms look very impressive. Breakfast was OK. Few Croissants etc and a couple of cereals. Very basic but sometimes that is all you need. Minibar has 2 cans of beer and 1 bottle of water. Ours did not get re stocked. The location was ideal. 15 minute walk from Termini Metro station, 15 min walk from Trevi Fountain or the Spanish Steps and only a 30 minute walk to the Colosseum. A wine bar literally 25 yards down the road (very nice and friendly staff) plus a couple of restaurants acoss the way.
The entrance and dining area are both lovely and you feel as though you have booked a higher end hotel however once you get upstairs you can see why this is a relatively cheap hotel! It seems they are having a refurb which is definitely needed. The rooms are very basic (no tea/coffee facilities which is a tragedy for a Brit!) and could do with a fresh coat of paint - there are a lot of scuff and marks on the walls! That being said, we both had decent sleep, it was very quiet with absolutely no disturbances. The rooms were very clean and came with a few amenities such as a hair dryer, mini fridge, shampoo, soap and shower cap. Towels were changed daily, room was also cleaned to a good standard daily so can't really complain! The breakfast was just what you'd expect... buffet style with cereal, a big selection of bread, jam, pastries, juice and tea and coffee. The breakfast staff were particularly pleasant which was appreciated! All in all, considering it's a bit run down, we don't really have any complaints!
