Location is very good.Service and staff are very kind.Manager is excellent; Ana is her name. Restaurante is quite clean and the chef is very good. Mayte the Room price is a litte expensive. Room service could improve.
The rooms were excellent. We booked the red level rooms, with extra service, but actually it was not needed. We did not use the red level bar so much as it was opneed only till 8 p.m. when we usually got back from the city. Anyway teh hotel is great, pool perfect, food great. Only minus was we could not bring teh drinks from teh red level lounge to our room and enjoy it.
I was disappointed with this hotel. I can tell they spent a lot of money building o renovating the place, but they just did no execute correctly. There are a lot of details that should not happen at a 5 star hotel with those prices... for example : the noise , you can hear from your bed anybody that passes through the hall way , the lights inside the room are very complicated to know which is for where. The first room we had the bathtub had fungus all around it... in general it feels cheaply made and furnished. Now I must admit the STAFF was extraordinary! Very nice and very helpful ! Everybody was very nice ! The location is also pretty good, it’s about a 15-20 min walk from the Vatican . Next time I’m in Rome I will try another option.
The hotel is incredibly overpriced, the rooms are shockingly small and dark. We have a melia loyalty card and despite the upgrade the room was still incredibly small. The hotel like most of hotels in Rome is very expensive and the traveler gets no real benefit. The hotel charges a 20 euro entrance to the spa, where all you get is a small jacuzzi in an open courtyard without roof, not exactly what you want in December. The staff is not trained for 5 star level and make one mistake after the other. We received confirmation of a booking for a dinner we never booked etc The hotel needs to step up if they want to be included in the grand hotels in Rome.
Beautiful hotel with extremely helpful, attentive and courteous staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The gorgeous receptionist who checked us in, the waitress in the library bar and the lovely concierge were particular standouts. The room was beautifully appointed, sparkling clean and extremely comfortable as were the beds. There were no defects here❤️
I love this hotel. The staff are amazing, the service is amazing, the room was beautiful and the breakfasts superb. Love staying here it's perfect. Thank you to the manager and all the lovely staff. The Gran Melia Rome is a fantastic luxury hotel in Rome. The staff is amazing, especially the concierge Antonella. We upgraded our stay to Red Level, and purchased breakfast with our room which made it easier traveling with our young daughter. The hotel was walking distance to the Vatican as well as most areas (within 2k distance). The accommodations are very comfortable. Our family will definitely stay here again.
I was traveling alone to ROME for business trip. Booked 3 nights and arrived early morning 9am. They were accommodating and helped me arranged a room right away. The room size was good and interior was modern. In particular the lighting was good which was a definite upside as I need to work afterwards and good lighting was important. Location was very near Vatican with 7minute walk. There was free chocolates every evening and on the last night a free bottle on champagne! I also had a late checkout for 2 hours and again free. Service was good and speak excellent English.
The word "hotel" doesn't even cover the atmosphere and experience transmitted by staff and structure. The most professional yet friendly staff I've ever met. Than you for an experience I'll never forget.
The hotel is beautiful, the staff superior, the grounds amazing.... That being said, our rooms design had us frustrated and irritated. The nightstands were too small, chairs were artistically but awkwardly placed and we ended up going to the spa to shower because of the slippery tub, hand held shower head and high stepover tub. (an accident waiting to occur) In addition, hotel information was printed in a small font with a pale gray ink, making searching for info laborious. Gran Melia Rome forgot the first rule of design,,, form follows function!
