Hotel Amalfi3.0 out of 5.0

Just spent five nights there and it was so comfortable, convenient and a most pleasant experience. Francisco, Emilio and Cosimo were all so helpful and friendly. Got good restaurant advice, help with booking two reservations, one for a restaurant and one for a tour. I used their car service for 55 Euro back to airport for an early morning flight, which felt like such a splurge for me but so glad I did, was well worth it. Prompt 5:15 am pick up, great ride. Also, the woman at the front desk, whose name I didn't get, help me when I needed to call Aliitalia about my flight back. The room was clean and comfortable. Heat worked great and I appreciated that as it got cold at night. Location was close to train station and two historical churches that are very worth checking out Convenient to the Monti area where there is a lot of great restaurants, food choices and shops, and only a 20 minute walk to the Colosseum. Traveling solo, I felt safe too, which is important to me. I didn't eat breakfast there, as I was eager to get out each day and am not a big breakfast eater, Definitely recommend Hotel Amalfi.
Amalfa Very much a tale of two halves. When it comes to character this hotel ticks all the boxes, but it comes at a price i.e. its "compact". Indeed my (single) room was an engineering master class, in that they managed to pack into a space (which in many places would have been dismissed a cupboard), a bed, storage space, tv, desk, chair, toilet, sink and shower. For mini breaks, which this was, I usually don't demand too much from a hotel room as I am generally out all day, clean and comfortable pretty much sums it up. But i must admit to feeling a bit claustrophobic here. Breakfast was ok very much a stardard continental affair and whilst nothing to write home about it was a buffet so you could fill your "boots" for the day a head. The breakfast area itself was again a bit small and could fill up quite quickly although i always got a seat. The wifi signal was a bit tempermental at times but generally ok however there was seperate interet access/terminal available if needed. I am probably painting a worse picture of this hotel than I should, in truth It was clean, comfortable, full of character, exceedingly well located (I walked to the Vatican), exceptional value for money and the staff were exemplary. Would I stay there again....probably
We stayed here for a few days and really enjoyed our visit, I can't praise the staff enough, the front desk staff were very knowledgeable and friendly they always had time for a chat with me, the cleaning team were polite and efficient. The hotel is also in a great location. The only reason I haven't rated higher is I didn't have breakfast ( my choice not a problem with the accommodation ) We will use the Amalfi hotel when we are next in Rome.
The Amalfi is one of those dependable, friendly, clean, 3-star jobs. It's pretty good value. Staff are really nice and accommodating. Breakfast was ok, bit basic (I'm also vegan so felt a bit uncatered for) and coffee not great, but I think it was consistent with the hotel's price range. This is a good option for Rome IF you are happy to not be in the Centro Storico. Close to Termini and also short walk to Monti. Of course there are a few (fairly bad) Indian cafes nearby if you're fed up with Italian food, and there is also a cluster of old school Irish bars around the corner.
Nice, clean, small hotel with basic services. Friendly staff, good location for most purposes in Roma. 24h reception/check-in a huge bonus. If you look for luxus, look elsewhere. But for basic services with a friendly smile and affordable price, i would recommend this one.
This small hotel in a very convenient location is " Punching above its weight " From the first point of contact asking for early check in, (which was no problem ) until the moment we left our stay was comfortable in all respects & the staff could not have been more helpful.
Just back from a 4 day weekend with my husband. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. I asked for shampoo as I thought the bath products were just shower gel, I was told that it was shampoo as well, but the staff provided a full sized bottle of sun silk shampoo for me. Great service. For a small hotel they have a good choice for breakfast, fresh fruit, cereal, cooked eggs, bacon etc also croissants from the local shop. The hotel is ideal for getting around the city on foot, but take comfortable shoes. It's near to the Termini train station, where you can get the train to the airport for €14 single, also the metro is only about 5mins walk. We had a very enjoyable stay helped by the excellent staff.
value for money , great staff, good breakfast, near to all tourist spots and well connected by metro. The airport pick up was great, on time, great experience. We were concerned on safety and security as this was our first trip to Italy and within couple of hours in the property we felt like home, don't look for 5 star amenities as it's a mid budget hotel but total value for the money spent. Great experience.
Lovely, small, welcoming hotel. Good choice for breakfast. Near the train station, with shuttle bus direct to airport. Would choose to stay at this hotel if returning. It is a shame in parts of the city there is much rubbish and graffiti. A lot of hassle from street traders on every corner of every street Still Rome is very beautiful, Hope to visit again.
Good central location, easy to get to attractions, with nearby bus routes. Warm and welcoming atmosphere, and all of the staff are very friendly and helpful. Plenty of restaurants nearby for eating out. Highly recommended.
