B&B Ventisei Scalini a Trastevere0.0 out of 5.0

The B&B is located on a beautiful street, with many bars and restaurants nearby, unfortunately too many for us to try all of them when we were there! The main tourist attractions are an easy walk away. The service was great - really enjoyable stay.
Our second stay in "Diamonds and rust" Quality of the appartment is very nice, and feels like it has som history to it. We loved that there was a small kitchen for making coffe etc. A few croissants available etc. There is an excellent pizzeria just across the street. The appartment has a very good location with a short walking distance to tons of great little restaurants and bars. A short ten minute walk to Campo di Fiori. Our hostess Lucia is very helpful and friendly. We are coming back.
A very nice guesthouse that was ran by a small team of people, all very friendly, a very pleasant stay in the Trastevere area of Rome. Highly recommended. A very good location in a quiet part of town around many different amenities (restaurants, pharmacies, shops, ice cream places) and the room was basic, but contained all the essentials for a nice stay. The staff were very friendly and explained important things to us (i.e. How to work the coffee machine) and generally showed us around the house. As this place is on the top floor of a building it would be quite difficult to get large luggage up and down, and the walls were quite thin so we could hear talking and music in the other rooms occasionally whilst in our own room. Highly recommended for a stay in a quiet location near the centre of Rome.
Tough to find parking around. I suggest the garage on via delle Zoccolette. The neighborhood is really cool with lot's of trendy restaurants and bar just outside the building. Walking distance to the main attractions in the town. Room was ok. Lite breakfast.
From the moment I booked my stay, Lucia contacted me to give me information and offer help for my travel! She wouldn't have been more helpful! When my flight was cancelled, she offered to let me stay an extra day to make up for the day I missed because of my cancelled flight! I wasn't expecting such generosity! But I learned it is reflective of the whole Trastevere neighborhood. I couldn't have asked for a more au genetic feeling for my first trip to Italy! Cobblestone walks and streets with lively piazzas around every corner. The two bottles of water everyday saved me money! Amazing restaurants around every corner. Everyone was helpful to someone who speaks little Italian. I walked to the Vatican, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. As for the room, it was plenty big and did not feel cramped. It came with a safe, so I could store my passport with ease of mind. It has a double bed made of two singles, so you could conceivably turn it into two singles for two friends traveling together. The B and B food is available all day. Some in my room fridge and some in the common area right outside my door, shared with 2 other rooms. Though I never saw them. I loved looking out the window and feeling like I was living in an old Italian village, which I was! Seeing rooftops of other building a stones throw away, even people's laundry hanging on ear porch. It all added to that feeling that I was really in Italy, bit just visiting another over commercialized vacation destination. The stairs are steep, but it just adds to the charm. If you want to feel like your in an authentic part of Italy without the commercialism, this is your place!
Had a lovely 3 night stay here in February. The b&b is in a great location close to loads of bars and restaurants all very reasonably priced. It's a short walk to the main "touristy" area of Rome with the main attractions. The room was very clean, with a small separate bathroom.
Even though this has been highlighted in previous reviews, I cannot stress enough just what a fantastic location this little place has! It is situated in the heart of Trastevere (a beautiful medieval part of Rome), just a stone throw away from all the bars and restaurants. The city centre with all its main cultural attractions is 10 minutes walk away straight over the bridge. If you are looking for a luxurious stay, then this place is most certainly not for you! You get what you pay for. It has all the necessary amenities with an added bonus of a coffee machine, which was a little disappointing because we didn't quite manage to get it to make hot enough coffee....We stayed in a musical themed room with the windows looking into the inside "courtyard" so outside noise was never an issue at night. Bu be prepared to be woken up early by the ringing of the nearby bells and singing of seagulls. Breakfast is included but is very basic - a few slices of packaged toast, muffins and jams. There is a basket of fruits in the communal area for everyone to have. The wifi was good in the communal kitchen but the signal in our room was very poor unfortunately. I must also mention that this place does not have a typical concept of what I would expect from a bed and breakfast. There is no reception and the owners are not present at the hotel. You asked to text the owner of your exact arrival time, so somebody can meet you outside, show you to your room and then leave you to enjoy the city. We never met Lucia but we were greeted by Paolo who was a great and helpful character! All in all this is a great, budget stay perhaps more suited to the younger crowd :)
We stayed here as a school group. We had two triple rooms and one single room. If you are traveling in a large van it may be hard for the vehicle to get to the door as the alley ways are tight, especially at night when it is crowded with people, so just be aware. Each room had a TV, air-conditioner that doubles as a heater, a mini fridge, cappuccino machine, a daily rolls, biscuits, and fruit, water, milk, and cereal available as breakfast is a 'do-it-yourself'. The location is perfect as it is in Trastevere with lots of cafes, pubs, restaurants and shops. It is only a 20-30 minute walk to Vatican City along the Tiber and about 20 min walk to the Colosseum and Forum. It is easy to walk all over Rome with this being your base. The students really enjoyed this place, as it was like a little apartment of their own for the few days we were here. The only negatives is that the shower in the Poeta room is very high, so if you are not a tall person, or don't have good balance, its a little steep getting in and out. Some nights, could get a little loud outside with a very busy pizzeria next door that was always full in the evening. That being said, we would definitely stay here again as the location really made the place perfect and having a large enough rooms for three students to live comfortably for a few days was also great.
Firstly i would like to put the positives, the 2 men that checked us in were very nice, polite and welcoming, for the location the price was affordable and our check in wasnt untill 2oclock but we arrived early at about 11 and we were let in our rooms straight away. However i would not recommend this to anyone due to the fact whole place absolutely stunk of cannabis during our whole stay to the point of feeling ill and having our clothes stink of it too. And being pregnant myself was not happy to stay here. I understand if people do want to smoke but feel that this should be mentioned as no other reviews have stated this and if they had known i never would have stayed here. Also felt quite uneasy here, put my zips in a particular place on my suitcase when we went out for the day and when returning the zips were in a different position on mine and my partners case so the cleaner had obviously looked inside. Couldnt find anything was missing however thats not the point. We didnt ever see the owner again after checking in so unable to say anything. But think twice before staying here.
We had a lovely stay in this B&B. We were picked up by the owner, he gave us a great explanation about the area and city itself. The B&B is situated in the heart of Trastevere with many bars and restaurants around the corner. Ideal for a stroll in the evening. Public transport is close by and the old center not too far walking. From the airport it takes about 50 minutes to get there. The bed was okay, the room a tiny bit noisy but not too bad. The fridge was filled with drinks and there was plenty of bread, sweet breakfast and fruit. Our last day we were able to leave our luggage at the B&B. Would definitely stay again.
