I travelled with my daughter and although this was a little difficult to locate, it was a real gem in terms of convenience and location. Our room had the view shown on this review - we really enjoyed the buzz of the square with it's cafe/bar culture. The scene really got going late in the evening so it was quite noisy but that didn't bother us too much once the windows were closed. Step out of the front door and you can see the Colosseum! Breakfast was brought to our room on a tray - typically Italian with warm drink, fruit juice, fruit and pastries. The room and en suite were spotlessly clean (and we are picky!), the staff (owner I think) was most helpful and efficient. The cost was very reasonable and we would definitely return for further visits.
This B&B is located perfectly. The Colosseum is in 7 minutes distance, you can reach Rome's main station, Termini, in 15 minutes on foot, while Piazza Venezia is about 10 minutes away. Not to mention the lovely Piazza della Madonna dei Monti on which the rooms have view; the Square can get crowded and rather noisy in the evenings, though. The nearest metro station, Cavour, is 5 minutes on foot. There are several restaurants, bars and cafeterias in the area, as well as supermarkets and souvenir shops. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, but cleanliness could be improved. The host, Tania, is very kind and helpful; however, she speaks little English, making communication a bit difficult. Breakfast is scarce, Italian style (a croissant, a yoghurt and a capuccino), served inside one's room. Last, but not least, the rooms have a really decent price, taking all the advantages above-mentioned into consideration.
Best area to be in Rome. We were now in decembre and it was great. Like on pictures, so true and honest place. Great, nice, clean, friendly, safe, beautiful, hospitality, amazing and popular place with great people. Location is the best for everything, live popular square Piazza della Madonna dei Monti, and you can do anything from there... Breakfast is served directly in your room, Tania is the best, great person and friend. thank you for everything it was great...Goran & Tamara.
Perfect location for a short trip. The Colosseum is 5 minutes walking distance from the B&B, Fontana di Trevi is 15 minutes walk and the train station is 20 minutes. It is a really trendy area full of restaurants and nice shops. However, if you are a light sleeper please bear in mind that the clean up crew usually arrives at 7:30am to clean up and sweep up the broken bottles from the Piazza's previous night party.
Ci sono ritornato diverse volte e non ci ha mai deluso. PRO: - location fantastica, in mezzo alla movida romana (beautiful view) - good quality/price - restructured with ancient goods and modern pieces - well cleaned - in the middle of the history (fontana di trevi, colosseum, quirinale, monti suburb...) - subway - many lovely places where to eat and live Contro: no parking (but it is normally in this place and ther'is a nearly garage)
Very warm welcome from the owner that gave us the key for the room and make sure everything was ok. I had a bit of problem figuring out how to open the front door when I arrived as I didn't have the password. The break fast was lovely (Yogurt, croissant, cappuccino...) and was served on the time we arranged. The lift is very small, the room was clean and cozy, bed sheets and towels were clean and good quality, there is an air conditioning and heaters to keep the room in the right temperature. We went to Rome to explore the city, so we just walked around all day long. The Colosseum is 5 minutes walking distance from the B&B, Fontana di Trevi is 15-20 minutes walk, Roma Termini Station is 20 minutes (with my short legs), The Vatican City is 1 hour walk. Bear in mind that I was walking and stopping to take pictures. There are some lovely restaurants, natural ice creams shop, souvenirs shop, all around this B&B. I had a great time and I recommend this B&b.
We arrived in Rome got a taxi to the hotel it wasn't clearly signed we couldn't find it took us about 20mins to find the place, we ended up buzzing a random door to our luck it was the correct place, but the room we booked was fully booked till the following day so we put up in a room round the corner that was fine as it says on the website they put you somewhere else if it's fully booked. Anyway the lady took us to the top floor to our room and said someone but be in soon to clean it which I thought they would of cleaned it before we arrived. When we got to the room it was disgusting there was used condoms on the floor and dirty wine glasses empty bottles. I did not want to stay there it was horrible the bed sheets where Used. We decided to go out and explore Rome and go back when our room was sorted. Rome is an amazing place I would love to go back but not to this hotel.
This happened in May 2014, but I wanted to warn people about our experience as it was our only bad experience in our month-long trip in Italy. As we were in Rome again just a few days ago, I thought I'd share this experience. Chose this B&B because of the location and value (and good Tripadvisor reviews). It was a little bit hard to find, though not far from the train station (maybe 10-15 minute walk). We arrived in the afternoon, well within the check-in time window. We had booked through a booking site (which did accept a deposit for guarantee). We finally found and rang the doorbell and waited. And waited. Nobody answered. Then, someone came running up the stairs and told us that the room was not ready and we needed to follow her to a hotel across the street where we could get in contact with the missing B&B owner. The lady did not speak much English but managed to convey to us (once we were in the other hotel) that the B&B room we booked had an occupant in it and we needed to stay elsewhere for a night. She said we could return to the B&B the next day for the rest of our stay in Rome. (She put the B&B owner on the phone, but the communication was still poor.) She then brought us to a room in this other hotel, suggesting it as a good alternative for us that night while we wait for our reserved B&B to free up for us tomorrow. However, the hotel was very old and a little scary looking (this, from a native of NYC). It was like an Italian grandmother's dark, musty apartment, but without any of the quaint touches. There was a smell of cigarette smoke in the hallway. The bathroom was tiny and a little dirty. The bedroom was large, though. We felt resigned (and quite tired from a day of travel), so we agreed to stay for the time being (what else were we to do?). In the end, after a lot of drama (and I have all the emails to back me up) - basically the B&B had overbooked us (because we had used a booking company) and did not notify us at all - we decided to stay elsewhere. We forfeited the one night deposit after the B&B owner demanded it because we had told the lady of the other hotel we would stay the night in this room. (Note - we did not even stay at his B&B... and he had full rooms that night.) From now on, I try to book direct and, when in Rome, with a higher-class hotel - it's worth it for the peace of mind.
This little gem of a B&B is well-located in the hip suburb of Monti. The hostess, Tania is lovely and was there at the designated time to meet me and settle in. A lovely croissant, yoghurt, juice a (real) coffee is included in the price of the room. The rooms are spotless, with daily attendance by Tania. The rooms also have air conditioning and their own clean and modern ensuite bathrooms. This is a great location for anyone who is confident getting around Rome and does not need a concierge service. The B&B is located above the best coffee shop in the area (Bar la Licata) and overlooking the gorgeous Monti Square. It's on the top floor of the building, so you don't have that very annoying issue of hearing people pounding around in the floor above. I can't really give this B&B any major criticisms, except my shower lacked a cake of soap (small thing, really). Big plus is there is a lift to carry you and your luggage to the front door. Another plus for me is that it is a level walk (there are actually NO stairs) to Cavour Metro stop, only one stop away from Termini Station, when you leave (there are stairs and a road cross coming south from Termini... I usually walk down the hill with my suitcase instead, approx 10 minutes downhill).
Within a few minutes walk from the Colosseum, this was ideal. Situated next to a pleasant piazza (with mandatory fountain / birdbath) and within walking distance of many sights. Friendly owner who helped us out when necessary. Superb value for a clean and comfortable B+B.
