We got this hotel at a good rate, it was good. The service was good and friendly. Staff helpful, we were only staying 3 nights in order to see the sights in Rome which we curly did. We had dinner in the restaurant on the first night and it was fine. Enjoyable stay but being in Rome helped make this hotel appear better than it was I think
My experience at the Appia Park Hotel has been rather negative. I check-in with my family in the large 4 beds room I booked and realize that the bathroom is unpractical due to low sloping ceilings (I’m almost 2m tall and can barely stand in the middle of the bathroom – without shower). I immediately ask for an alternative and the desk manager offers us to split in 2 adjacent double rooms causing no little discomfort in keeping the family together. Only two days later I’m prompted by another desk manager that I should pay a daily extra due to the fact that we occupy 2 rooms instead of 1. The difference amounts to 80% of the daily rate I (pre)payed for my booking, almost doubling the costs of my 4 nights staying. When I object that no one ever informed me about the extra, the manager doubted my good faith and cut short suggesting that I should have assumed a difference in price. Even though the staff appeared to be friendly and smiley, in reality their attitude proved to be deceptive and unwilling to compromise even a sharing of responsibility for a miscommunication accident that they clearly caused. With the intervention of the broker (Hotels.com) I managed to win a frugal reduction of the financial loss for the 2 nights I had already spent having the family in 2 separate double rooms and agreed to finish the planned staying in Rome negotiating my head with the low ceilings of the 4 bedroom initially booked. Overall, the customer service demonstrated to be ways below the standards one would expect in a hotel that claims a four star rank. Moreover, perhaps because already tinted by the unfortunate accident I described, neither the rest of the experience helped the hotel recovering any ground in my consideration: the rooms (we tried 3 after all!) are in dire need of renovation and the overall decay of the structure is evident in the details and the smells that pictures can’t show. Although the vicinity of a very nice archaeological park (Villa dei Quintili), the green spaces around the hotel, the free parking and wi-fi could be counted as a positive notes, the overall value for money for this structure remains low and forever compromised by the poor customer care demonstrated. Never again.
Hotel is very good for its proximity to Ciampino Airport, and ideal if you have an early flight. However the hotel is very basic and is more of a 3 star. In fact the hotel advertises a restaurant and snack bar but both are no longer available.
We were put up here by a company who we do business with. I ended up with a Single Room, which was tiny. Not only that the bed was so old that when I sat on it I could feel the base of bed and every spring in the mattress. There was no mattress protector on the mattress, and with a mattress so old it's a little worrying. No iron, there was also a pipe somewhere behind a wall in and a very loud flow of water every 10 minutes, scuffs all over the wall, hairs in the shower, the list goes on. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel, one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in.
Vorbehaltlos Zu empfehlen . Compliments 2 all the team . Save , very clean , nice location ,not expensive . Simply one of the best in Rom .parking wifi have all nice park . Service workers very friendly . Tip top !
I stayed here for a couple of days and was pretty contented with everything (apart from Wi-Fi which was a disaster, more or less not functioning). The big advantage is that it has a free underground parking connected directly with elevators. As the position of this hotel isn´t very central, the car is recommended, unfortunately public transport doesn´t function very well in Rome. Nevertheless, being a bit far from the centre, you could at least enjoy a quiet rest. My room wasn´t the nicest one, it was rather old-fashioned, especially the bathroom, however it was clean. The staff is very good - kind, professional and able to help. Regarding the breakfast, honestly I expected something better, but the basic choice of both salty and sweet there is.
I visited this hotel for business some weeks ago. I attended a convention and stayed overnight for 1 night. The room was basic but spacious; cleaning was at very good level in both the bathroom and the room. The entire staff was extremely nice and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place. Good value for money!
I stayed at this hotel on July 17th 2015. Me and my brothers were heading to a wedding and needed a place to stay overnight. We checked in around 3pm and got ready to go. Having travelled from abroad, I had no ironed shirts with me so I asked for an iron. I was told by the receptionist that they did not have any. I said that was not possible, as this establishment is also a congress centre, I am sure not all guests would bring ironed shirts. The receptionist - clearly in difficulty and looking as if he wanted to help - asked a colleague and she told me it was "against the law to have irons in hotels". This is a blatant lie as Italian law states that hotels can give out irons as long as they provide instructions on how to use them and they are in working condition. The worst thing is that the morning after the night shift receptionist confirmed that the only reason they had not given me an iron was because they were afraid I'd burn the sheets of the room. Extremely poor service, especially for an establishment that describes itself as a 'congress centre'. Last but not least, the breakfast consisted in poor quality pastries and juices. Definitely not recommended.
Great stay! People are extremely nice specially with my 1year old son. The room was clean and always ready at night after we traveled around Rome. We were traveling by car, so their parking was a gift! (Never travel to Rome by car, parking don't exist!) ask for Massimiliano at the bar, he was a charm with us! Everybody was awesome! Clean rooms, big parking, basic breakfast but ok. However it is more or less 30min by car to center Rome... Buses aren't so frequent. Bare that in mind.
As everyone might know fiumicino went on fire. As one would expect most of the hotels got swamped with work. It was relieving and calming to be greeted by a very friendly and more than helpful manager at this hotel, located ten mins away from Ciampino. I can't praise enough their patience, Federico and team, in trying to make our stay more comfortable, taking care of tired passengers who felt like refugees. Thank again for the great help! Aside from this please don't miss out Quintili. Room is clean, wifi accessible, transportation needs patience but for the rest all good
