Stayed here the end of July for a couple of nights while exploring Mark Twain Forest. It was a great stay the couple that owns the motel are very friendly and accommodating. Clean nice room had a huge comfy fluffy bed. Super affordable to boot!
There was a funny smell in the room when we first went in, but a bit of spray soon sorted this out. The linens were clean and the bed was fairly comfy, the room was big, with a fridge and microwave and the bathroom was clean too. The door only had one lock it and when it was locked the door still moved, but we didn't have any issues whilst there, and the staff were very friendly and efficient. The coffee was in the reception area (but no decaf).
The Rustic Motel was one of the most enjoyable motels I stayed at while traveling from California to Illinois. The room was very lovely furnished, nicer than most motels I stayed at during my vacation. The room was very clean. The motel was a little ways off the main highway and the room was quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The motel owners were friendly, and I really enjoyed visiting with them during check-out.
Had to find a hotel because the Great Missouri Flood of 2017 washed out the road home. Stumbled on this place. Very comfortable, well-furnished, and reasonably priced, especially at such short notice.
Long night of driving. Decided to stop for the night. Wanted somewhere not near the hwy (noise). King bed was great. Pillows were nice and firm. Bathroom was clean. Room was clean and dark. We ended up sleeping 12 hours. Great little place.
It's simply an old fashioned motel that does everything right. Incredibly genial hosts, comfy chairs, adequate shower with a deep tub and finally a bed that is both supportive and feather-soft. Whole class better than chains.
Normally I would rate this place as below average because of the condition of the room, but at the price point ($41) it was a good value. Stayed here on a cross country road trip for some shuteye. The room, 232, had 3 double beds in it and looked like it hadn't been renovated since the 60's. Judging by other pictures posted, some rooms have been updated. I had my doubts, but I checked for bugs and clean sheets, and it looked ok. Of course I didn't use the comforter, but as a rule of thumb, I never do at non-corporate motels for hygiene purposes. I got there late, around 1 AM, and just slept for a few hours then left. FYI, if I were with my girlfriend, she would have made me find a nicer place... Very friendly owners though.
I walk with a cane, but they only had rooms upstairs so I had to drag my suitcase and breathing machine up the stairs. The I had to fight to get the door to open. It was clean, but took forever to cool off. The bed was OK, but hard with half flat pillows. The a/c helped kill the road noise somewhat. Breakifast...was there breakfast? Oh, it was a couple kinds of cereal, coffee, milk, and packaged sweet roll. A nice quick snack to sustain me while I searched for Waffle House. It was "OK" I guess, but not spectacular. If you're upstairs, don't leave your room after dark: narrow treacherous metal stairs and poor lighting. One misstepp, you'll go BOOM as I almost did.
I needed a place to stay for two nights while I attended a short trucking school. This place was recommended by the school. The price was great and they do accept pets. My room had a fridge and microwave. I didn't try the wifi so I can't say whether it worked or not. The owners are very kind and friendly. The only complaint I really have would be the room door. It is very loose and doesn't feel as if it closed securely. If your looking for a cheap room, give them a try. If your looking for fancy - go elsewhere. Remember, you get what you pay for.
Very old and Rustic hotel rooms smelled musty and the free wi-fi didnt work at all . Had roaches in the bathroom at night. Staff is very friendly landscaping around hotel is very pretty. Maybe I just had a bad room for reception on wifi but probaly wouldn't stay here again
