The elevator didn't work. Hair dryer did not work. Could not regulate temperature in room (kept the window open all night even though the outside temperature was in the low 40's). Hotel conducted loud historic tours by rooms into the night. Pillows were foam, very uncomfortable. Entrance to hotel was blocked by construction and there was no signage saying how to get to the checkin desk. Very poor experience. Will not return.

Fantastic property with great staff. Food and bar service and quality was high as well. This facility is the perfect combination of old world charm with modern amenities. Highly recommend h

We could not have been more thrilled with our room. 2 king beds, beautiful furniture. The staff was amazing and it was within walking distance of the Stanley and Safeway and McDonalds we could walk to. The only downfall, no vending or soda machines in this hotel.

We chose the Stanley Hotel for a quick get away for it’s history, reputation and uniqueness. Upon arrival the hotel was under construction and the temporary entry was hard to find, although it was dark when we arrived. There was a small sign to indicate the temporary entry once we were there. We then wandered through the basement level of the hotel trying to find the front desk to check in. No one was there to welcome us or help with our luggage. We finally found the front desk which was one floor up a flight of stairs. This isn’t completely inconveniencing but The Stanley is rated a 4 star hotel and I was surprised at the lack of staff. Our room was about as expected for a 100 year old hotel. However, the one thing that is completely in their control is how clean the room is, which is was not. There was a tour sticker on the wall from the previous occupant and an earring on the bathroom counter. The curtains were very dusty as was the entire room. I understand they are having some construction done but shouldn’t it at least be clean when we arrive? For a four star hotel and for the price I expected more and was dissapointed.

Easy check in, beautiful view, great amenities. The room was clean and had the best view with a balcony that overlooked the Stanley Hotel. The staff was welcoming and directed us to our room and all of the restaurants and hours at check in. We were able to walk to restaurants close to the hotel, as well, for other option of food to eat.

Wonderful historical hotel. A little confusing on the main entrance to hotel from parking lot. However when you add The historical, and ghost tours to your guest stay, its a 5 star for me.

Definitely exceeded our exectations. Gorgeous classic decor . The elevator was a special touch , made us feel like we time traveled to early 1900’s. There’s nothing I would change about the hotel. The only complaint would be the service in the restaurant. We didn’t get as much sleep as we wanted too because there’s a lot of activity, my fiancé and I truly believe this hotel is genuinely haunted . We were skeptical at first . It was a very unique experience.

Historic hotel but with that expect a small room and just ok room fiurnishings. Make sure you see the illusionist and watch the elk in the park nearby.

Wonderful old hotel. I love older hotels but this hotel is too commercialized ruining the atmosphere. Our tv volume was messed up called front desk and had to leave voicemail never had anyone address the issue. Beds are very uncomfortable. You can't adjust the heat had fans going and it was still way too hot when it was 40 degrees outside. My husband and I both was almost burned in the shower as the shower went from being ideal temp to extremely not then extremely cold. Great hotel to tour but wouldn't waste my money to sleep here again

Room was so hot we couldn't sleep. Dinner at Cascades was over priced and not at all appetizing. Over all condition of hotel seemed neglected.

Confusion at check in, room was dirty and included dog food from previous occupants, fold away bed was unusable (like a sheet on metal springs), room was 84 degrees, was told to use a fan to blow air in, had to prop window open with a broken stick, room never got cooler than 75 degrees, room service never cleaned room the 2nd day, I was handed towels and told they were done for the day at 4 (I was gone from 8am-330 and no Do Not Disturb sign was ever on my door), no newspapers in the morning, only 1 restaurant (way over priced and not very good), no path or sidewalk to town (walk on busy street or through a weed field).

Historical hotel that I've passed by since I was a child. Charming and interesting. The hotel is in need of repairs and paint.

Historic hotel in a beautiful area. Expensive but worth the experience.

The Stanley is charming and elegant!! Love the visit and the ghost tour was fun. Does not disappoint!!

Incredible historic property; however, very poorly managed and the room cleanliness was terrible. Limited amenities and no AC as can be expected for a historic property but our room was covered in dust and the hotel staff did not seem to care when informed. Great property, below average experience.

The Stanley is interesting mostly because of its historical and 'haunted' qualities. However, though the rooms aren't terrible, they are hardly worth the price you pay for them. We stayed at the Lodge one night, which was actually nicer than the main hotel we stayed in the second night. You would be better off to take the tour around the hotel property and stay somewhere else than to actually stay the night at The Stanley.

A fantastic stay! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The illusionist show was superb. I'm already looking to come back. Thank you!

We love the Stanley, not what we exspected, we have stayed there before. Staff not so friendly, charges to room that were not ours, no amenities at all, no place to buy things we needed because of no amenidies . could not find ice or vending. No the shinning movie to watch. Was not pleased with this visit

I have had much better service in hotels that cost half the price. The Stanley prides itself on being upscale, it may want to invest in training their staff and improving their rooms. Our room had no ducted heating and we had the choice of unbearably hot or opening the bathroom window and letting the 25 degree howling winds through our room to cool it down. Even when the window was shut, freezing particles of snow got through the cracks. The staff was universally uninterested in any guest concerns and with the exception of the bar staff, acted like every request, a room service menu, for example, was the height of unreasonableness. Why there was no menus in the rooms is still a mystery. Our Christmas buffet server had to be requested twice to take a drink order after 10 minutes of waiting, and when I tried to confirm my reservation the day before, I was met with an aggressive woman who snapped, 'they had 500 bookings and could not be expected to find my name quickly'. Perhaps the Stanley Hotel staff have not heard of alphabetical order? We have stayed at many hotels and were especially excited to celebrate our wedding anniversary and Christmas at the Stanley. Needless to say, our excitement and good cheer soon changed to disappointment and finally offense. Don't waste your money on this hotel. It's so busy telling everyone how upscale it is it forgets to actually deliver on the promise.

Beautiful place with and even more beautiful view. Restaurant was amazing. Check in was clumsy and we were given an incorrect room. It took a few minutes but we did get moved. We ordered room service and the kitchen seemed bothered. We waited almost 2 hrs and could only leave a message. They never did bring our food. Wouldn't keep me from staying here again, just don't rely on room service for your dinner.

Dear Tina, I'm sorry we weren't able to provide you with a better experience. Before this was a hotel, it was a guest house. The rooms we label as classic queen and kings do not all have closets as we have kept it the way that it was originally built. I am sorry we didn't have a place to hang dresses and suits. I am very sorry for the cleanliness of your room. I have forwarded your review to our Housekeeping Manager to review the process with the housekeeper that cleaned your room. Please know our larger rooms like our Deluxe Rooms, do have a lot of space! We hope you return to visit us one day.
