It was a great experience staying at Hampton by Hilton Laurinburg. The room was spacious, clean and nice. We were warmly welcomed by the front desk. Very nice and friendly staff....I highly recommend this hotel.
The hotel is clean and the front desk employee was kind. However, they no longer offer cribs. There were no extra pillows for the sofa bed. The phone didn’t work so my husband had to go back downstairs at 10pm to get needed items. The coffee station was on the bathroom, and I think that’s simply gross. There are no outlets on bedside table for charging electronics. The king bed only had four very worn pillows. The bed, however, was very clean and slept well. The complimentary breakfast had only a few muffins and other processed items and just 2 fruit choices. It was quite disappointing. The price is simply not worth it. We will not stay here again. It did not measure up to other Hampton Inns. Go with the Holiday Inn Express! It’s much nicer.
Being a diamond honors traveler, traveling every week throughout the country, I can testify with great confidence ... THIS IS NOT A HILTON GOLD STANDARD property. When i first arrived for a year-long contract in Laurinburg NC, I was told "this was the best place in town to stay." NOT TRUE! Having tolerated this property for almost two months, I kept closing my eyes to the small things that collectively confirm this property is poorly managed. Staff is NOT warm, except for the Night Shift Front Desk (who should be promoted to the GM). They don't care. Supplies slip into Super 8 level when they run out. The bathrooms are not spotless, with unknown stains on tile and bathtub corners. The "go to" breakfast packs were an issue, but when I first arrived were 50% predictably read for a busy business traveler. ABOVE ALL, I called/ left a message the GM 4 times (about a reservation issue) and "Robert" NEVER returned my call/message. On the 5th call (at 3pm on a Thursday) he just "left for the day". This is when I made a choice to abandon my loyalty to Hilton, and reserved the rest of my yearly stay commitment with a much better property. The small issues and the lack of courtesy for their guests, especially one that stays every week, are symbolic of poor management. If you want the best property, this is not your choice. Follow me, and you will see a recommendation for where I will be staying!
Visit to Laurinburg and St. Andrews University to see my daughters during Spring break. It was a wonderful stay!! We will definitely return sometime soon. The staff was wonderful and pleasant, a plus was the hotel is surrounded by great restaurants.
We arrived at 8:30 pm on a Fri night without reservations on the way to NMB. Upon arrival I was told that there was nothing open there or anywhere within the area, due to a horse show the next morning. Cliff from the front desk said that he had a cancelation and told us he found us a room. Thank Goodness!! The rooms are nice, but there were a few hairs on the toilet and the bathtub, which normally has he me asking for another room, but in this instance we settled and cleaned it ourselves! First, again I want to recognize Cliff who grabbed us and ensured we had somewhere to spend the night, he gave us a few bottles of water and even though he was extremely busy, he made us aware of all the amenities! The breakfast was very good and fresh!! We will be back, but ensure to check for events and cleanliness!
Enjoyed our stay at Hampton Inn Laurinburg. The staff is friendly and informative about local information. Easy access and near restaurants. Our room was clean and accommodating. The manager on duty was very helpful answering questions about the Laurinburg area.
This is probably the newest hotel in the area so I booked it. First, they did not give me the king room that I had reserved (I had my reservation). When I went down to ask for my room, the front desk attendant indicated I had not reserved what I had indicated. I had to prove it with my reservation. However, he indicated they didn't have any more. So, I kept the room. I'm not going to go into specifics, but the bathroom had obviously not been cleaned. I had to go back to the front desk to change rooms. There was not as much of an apology for the lack of cleanliness of the room. I would try a different hotel if I was you.
Hampton Inn Laurinburg is a nice hotel. Breakfast is tasty. Room is clean and staff is friendly. For a small town, this is a good place to stay. Close to restaurants, department stores and the local hospital.
We stay at many Hamptons. This one needs some work with its amenities. The One staff on duty had many excuses for the incongruity in the TV and phones. His chief excuse was Hurricane Matthew and arguments between hotel and provider blaming each other for the problems in the phone system, meanwhile the ones who suffer are the guests! They changed cable provider and their is no list of TV channels so you had to hunt and peck for stations. The TV in our room was analog while the unit in the lounge area by the breakfast room was hi definition! The breakfast was on par with other Hamptons, very good. The place was quiet. Throughout the hotel there are little physical details that indicate that it is time for renovation such as peeling wall paper in our bathroom, some paint problems in the halls and some beat up trim here and there. It was by far the least expensive Hampton we have ever stayed in and looks good on the outside. We like the location and hope that some day they will get their upgrade.
I've stayed at this Hampton a few times on my way south. It is what i've come to expect from Hampton Inn, clean, comfortable and friendly people. It is definitely a good value for the money and worth a stay!
