We just checked in for a 6-week stay. There’s no housekeeping on Saturday or Sunday, but on M-F, they switch towels, make the bed, and take out trash. This is our first day of the limited housekeeping, and there was trash left on the floor and our made bed was as shown in the photo below. We had also requested fresh sheets, which the hotel said “no problem” to, and the sheets were not replaced. When I talked to the front desk, they said, “well, we have people with special needs who work here.” I honestly think it is great to employ people with special needs! But if your employee isn’t able to perform the task, someone needs to check the room after they complete it. It’s not right to act as though it’s my problem that the limited housekeeping services weren’t performed. Or at least tell me that’s what I’m signing up for with the hotel, so I can make an informed decision about where to stay. Here’s to hoping the next 5.5 weeks go better.
This is my favorite hotel in all the world. You get a kitchen, stovetop, microwave, dish washer, your own fuse box, dishes, pans, silverware, dishwasher soap, towels, and in the main hotel a mini movie theater that sits 9, bring your own movie, a fire pit, a BBQ grill for customers to use, hot tub, pool, buffet breakfast, and buffet dinner on Monday thru Wednesday nights. What else could you ask for?
Nice place to stay with a lot of friendly and supportive people who help you get around .. just try to get breakfast elsewhere. The rooms are spacious and clean. You even can have dry cleaning if you need and there is shuttle service to Mayo.
We stayed at this property recently for the Spring Creek AMA MX National. Beautiful big rooms, complete with full fridge, kitchen facilities, washing for guests is no charge. Breakfast was provided every morning. Very plentiful. Plenty of parking, Costco next door. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Welcome staff and housekeeping was awesome. Pool and spa
Walked in the room and there was food on the floor. The bedspreads were dirty. The hallways smelled like food. Not hotel’s fault; that’s what you get when there are stoves in the rooms. Housekeeping is every 10 days; they do change the towels and take your trash daily. The layout of the room was terrible. The bathroom door was facing the bedroom. The breakfasts were average. The tables were always dirty. I never once in five days saw the woman clean a table. I did see her yell at a guest for not putting the cream container back where it belonged. She made the gentleman put it back in the right spot. Very unprofessional. I will never stay there again.
This is a nice facility, either new or has been remodeled? We travel with a small pet so we appreciated that they allow this for a $50 extra one time charge. Check in was fine and the staff gave us a room in the location we requested. Sunday, lots of trash in cans, floors could have used a touch up. Hallways wreaked of frying foods and spices, cooking is allowed in these rooms. Our room was in good physical shape, however the dogs nose tells all. The room was not clean. Grease in kitchen area, food along edges, dust and hair in bath area. Bedspreads dirty, in fact the dog wanted to roll on them which indicated they had the previous occupants pet odor on them and had not been washed. Towels and sheets were clean beds comfortable, but mattresses could use turned or replaced. Breakfast was ok. Terrible stale coffee at 745 am. Lady working breakfast did the minimum, seemed to be physically challenged. I watched a lady drag a huge bag of leaking trash by the breakfast area, indicates lack of hospitality training. Bottom line is we won’t stay here again. Nice facility, but someone needs to give a damn or you will get the clientele you deserve.
When looking at this hotel on a map, its seems pretty far away from needed amenities, but that's actually not the case. Right next door is an Aldi and about a half mile up the road was a really nice Hyvee with a good restaurant. Two blocks away is a pub with a fun comedy club. About a mile north is a shopping center with Walmart as well as Texas Roadhouse in the parking lot. Lots of things much closer than expected in the just developing side of town. Also good about this hotel is free parking with plenty of stops. Couple with a shuttle that runs from (departing) 6:20 am until 4:20 PM to St. Mary's West and Gonda, it's actually a good spot. The last shuttle returns 6:25 PM and 6:30 PM respectively from sites named above. There is Saturday, Sunday or holidays. The rooms are nice, but you have to request to get towels, trash emptied and beds made if you want that daily. The room will be cleaned after staying more than seven days. So you need to clean up after yourself which kinda misses the point of being in a hotel. I didn't like that arrangement. The breakfast is better than lower end hotels, but not nearly as good as what is offered at Homewood Suites. No bacon. The pool is nice. Loved sitting in the whirlpool. Very obviously geared toward male travellers with a disappointing (mostly sports) TV line up. It was almost impossible to find something to watch. They have a theater room which was very nice feature. I've never seen this in a hotel before. So bring your favorite DVDs to entertain yourself or the kids. Overall, a good experience and would stay there again if in Rochester, Minnesots.
Very friendly staff and very clean. They also have complementary evening diner and beverages several nights a week. Great pool and hot tube. The only downside is that every TV in the place is tuned to the Democrat News Network (CNN) when turned on. One would think it would tune to the TV guide which is available on the TV.
Let me begin by saying as a Spire Elite — I see a ton of IHG properties each year. I’ve been traveling extensively with IHG as my preferred provider since before 2000. We have standing appointments at the Mayo Clinic twice yearly for several days at a time. We have sampled all of the IHG properties in town— none of them come close to meeting our needs as this site does. From the communication before arrival and help with securing a good room location within the hotel, to the shuttle stops at the front door, and a number of “asks” in between — the staff and management were polite, kind, and very helpful. Just tremendous spirit exhibited here. Parking is good. And with the recent blizzard — they kept up on the plowing and shoveling like champs. They keep a wheelchair and a luggage cart by the entry as well. The complimentary laundry machines and gym are most welcome. The movie room and pool are also welcome distractions too. The place is always well kept and clean in our experience. Monday through Wednesday nights they serve dinner in the common area — which is a boon for those of us who are here for many days and have a budget to try and stick with. The fact that they also have wine and beer is a nice way to relax too. The morning breakfast is the standard IHG spread albeit provided with a nicer finish and real cutlery. The rooms are clean, well designed and appointed, and comfortable. The kitchenettes are great for those who wish to cook their own - microwave and a small stove. Dishwasher works great too!! The beds are comfortable. You have a TV in both the bedroom and living room area. Daily towel service also nice. AC and heat were in good order. We’ve decided this is our place when life brings us to Rochester. Thank you for being such a welcoming facility for our family’s needs.
This is my first time staying at a Staybridge Suites and it is one of the most impressive rooms I've stayed in. My interaction with the staff has been pleasant and the main common space was incredibly clean. When I got to my room I was excited to see a kitchenette in great shape, as well as a living room space. The bedroom was a cozy double queen. The suite was a great temperature--not too warm, not too cold. I really felt like I was staying in an apartment. I will definitley stay at this Staybridge again when I am in the area!
