Ver nice hotel not to far away from the Airport, and close to all transit roads arround Madrid, excellent staff at the Counter, very nice breakfast, clean and quiet, confortable beed and big shopping center near by with more restaurants and good free parking space closed with a gate and cameras to controll the area
Check in was quick and efficient by a friendly and efficient member of staff. We were quickly given our room key and breakfast times and wifi code all explained within 5 minutes. Once at our room which was to the left of reception we had a view of the car park which was ideal for keeping an eye on the car. The room it's self was ok for an over nights stay but dated and I didn't really want to look in depth at the room as I was scared at what I might find. Feeling parched after a long drive in the baking hot sun we made our way to the bar with what can only be described as a breath taking view, the lady that checked us in got us our drinks and also got a bowl of crisps for us which we didn't ask for which we thought was a nice touch. We didn't eat in the restaurant so can't comment on food but there was a drinks and snack dispenser there and also ice lollies for sales. We went out for dinner and when we arrived back at the hotel two coaches had just pulled up and I have to say with only one member of staff on duty she done well, all guests were seen to and clearly shows how well organised this hotel is ran. How ever when I saw the coaches I did groan as I work in a holiday inn and I know what this entails, first thought they will all go to breakfast together which means queueing and likely no tables left and secondly after being cooped up a coach all day they are not likely going to want to stay in their room. True to form we was just settling down to go to sleep at around 10:30pm and what happens doors are being slammed, kids are running up and down the corridor, girls are giggling and shouting to each other, everything and I mean everything could be heard like they was in the same room. I completely understand this is not the hotels fault but with another days full traveling ahead of us we just wanted some sleep and I thought the hotel could of at least put measures into place to ensure other guests wasn't interrupted. Breakfast the next morning we got up early and being a bit grumpy from very little sleep we walk into the restaurant to find the coach party all queuing up. Don't these people ever sleep!!! The staff handled this very well the restaurant was clean and tables available and the buffet was regularly topped up. Not sure if I would stay here again maybe if the rooms had a bit of a renovation.
This is our third visit to this hotel which we use on our trip between Santander & Murcia. The hotel is ideally located just off the main road. As our car is always full up with all our belongings it was always reassuring that the hotel had a barrier entry to their car park. It was slightly disconcerting this time that the barrier was open when we arrived and appeared to be open all the time, although we encountered no problem and the area about has always seemed very quite. We have noticed on previous visits and also again this time that the hotel seems to cater for Chinese coach tours but they seem to accommodate them in a different part of the hotel as we never seem to hear them only in the lobby area. As usual the room and bathroom were very clean and tidy and are a very good size. The breakfast which is included in the price is what we have become used to as provided by Spanish hotels of this quality. Cereals, fruit, cheese, cold meat, croissants, and pastries. All beverages are available. There is no food available in the evenings but the Rivas shopping mall is a five minute walk away where you will find various eating establishments available or the is a McDonalds close by.
Hotel was OK - kind of in a "commercial" area so not much around. The mattress in Room 103 is "toast" and should be replaced. Staff OK. Our roon was noisy til about 0100 due to children running around in the hallways and upstairs.
Stayed here to attend a wedding locally, it was close to where we needed to be, and others were there as well, budget, clean, very limited facilities. Probably would not choose to stay there again, apart from location.
Stayed for one night on our way out of Spain, as it was not to far from the airport. I requested an upper floor, given a first floor room. No air conditioning - in none of the rooms! The room was hot in April, I can't imagine how it must be during the summer. The window opened fully but had no way of locking it in position. The next door property was a hang-out for teens, so, I didn't feel comfortable leaving the window open all night. WIFI barely worked.
Visited Madrid to attend a wedding in the north, so chose hotel based on its access to motorways. It was also quite close to the Warner Park which we visited and there were a few families staying there for that reason. The staff were helpful and friendly, hotel was clean and as depicted in photographs. My only criticism is that the breakfast was truly awful. There was nothing cooked, no fresh fruit and the juice was all artificial. The hotel is good for kids as there is a small slide park across the road, and a soft play in the small shopping mall round the corner that opens after 5.
Stayed at this hotel during our 3 days stay in Madrid. Hotel is quite far away from downtown, but transit connections are good and you only have to take a bus and then the tube to get downtown. Commute is easy and convenient, and not being in the middle of the city makes the area a bit quieter. Checkin was easy. However, the room and the service there after did not impress us at all. We went into the room which was some sort of a double room. One double bed and the second bed was some sort of pack-and go type of bed with a matress on it. We didn't use that bed anyway, so it wasn't a big deal. The bathroom tub had the plug broken in the way that it wouldn't open so all the water would stay in. Also, the garbage bin was broken. So I went down to the reception to let them know about the issue. They said someone will replace the garbage bin (was never done during our stay). As for the bath tub plug, the receptionist came herself to the room to fix it. Apparently they are short staffed and she has to do many tasks. So she came with a screw driver and a couple of bottles of liquids to unplug the bath tub. After a few attempts, the screwdriver made the trick. They didn't even thought about offering us another room or anything like that. The worst comes even now. Unfortunately, during our stay, we had a death in the family and we had to make some phone calls in order to arrange some flights back home. Internet was not working in the room, and although we requested at the beginning to be moved to another room for this reason, they didn't do it. I had a cell phone with a pay as you go card which got spent during our calls and we still didn't had a plane booked. So I tried the phone from the room phone which didn't work. So I went down to the reception to ask them to allow me to make a few phone calls, for which I would have paid, of course. The receptionist, insisted that the phone in our room worked and I didn't know how to use it. After going back and forward between the reception and our room for a few times, the receptionist finally came to our room, just to confirm that what I was telling her for half an hour was true. She basically didn't believe me, and I felt like she thought I was lying her in order to try to make a free call from the reception. As I said, this was not the case as I would have paid the freaking dollars, just to be able to make the phone and book a damn flight. They don't really respect customers, it's basically a place where you pay and go to sleep without asking any questions. Food in the restaurant wasn't any better either, so if you have the chance to eat in town, better do that. Overall, this hotel was the worst we stayed at. I hope I will never have to stay at such a s**ty hotel ever in my life! Avoid this hotel and don't get fooled by the low prices. You only get what you pay for!
We stayed overnight here on our way down to Southern Spain. We were greeted cordially in English by Mercedes, who gave us lots of information about where to eat as the hotel had no restaurant. Yes our room may have been a little on the small side but who needs a huge room for an overnight stay? The room was perfectly clean, the bed was extremely comfortable and the shower hot and powerful. Breakfast was included in our room price of 48 Euros and secure parking was free ... a real plus. We will certainly stay here again. Highly recommended.
LOCATION & ATTRACTIONS NEARBY *** Just near busy highway, few kilometres from central Madrid, close to many shopping centres, restaurants, petrol stations and other shops. There is a secured, closed complimentary car park in front of the hotel (spacious enough for many cars and also few coaches). HOTEL OVERVIEW *** Quite standard HIE stop-over hotel. Nothing fancy, but clean hotel. PURPOSE OF THIS TRIP *** Leisure. RESERVATION *** I have booked it through IHG website using my logins, so reservation was very quick and hassle-free. Also I was able to see this booking on my iPhone app and also add it to Passbook app. LENGTH OF MY STAY *** 1 night. CHECK-IN *** Again, like many HIE – hassle free, quick, efficient. My IHG Platinum status was recognized, which means that my key card was already waiting for me; I received a welcome letter (I know it’s standard procedure, but some hotels don’t bother doing that); Complimentary Internet (Wi-Fi) access codes; Voucher for extra 300 IHG Rewards points (or choice of 1 drink). LOBBY & RECEPTION *** Modern, clean, spacious. Easy to maintain even with few tour groups trying to force the entry or breakfast room at the same time. ROOM *** I received a room #115, on a ground floor. It is not my favourite choice, but this is not a tall hotel, so it didn’t actually make any difference. Room was still “an old HIE style” (brown-red colours instead of blue-gray they have now), but it looked clean and fresh. Non-smoking room as booked. Room was equipped with 1 double bed (actually very comfortable one) and a sofa (which is always good if you’re lazy to put your clothes and shopping into the wardrobe or shelf). Unfortunately Air-Condition was centrally controlled, and its control panel was deliberately damaged. Luckily, I could open the window. There was also a kettle to make some tea or coffee. Few small details were a bit annoying, like this that this room was very acoustic (so I could hear everything from the parking outside and also my neighbours) and also lack of power sockets close to bed (everybody needs that having iThings, haha). Also, not too important, but I couldn’t find any notepad or pen/pencil (and I really need it for some reason), but reception could easily help with that. Some details were definitely to be replaced, like a curtain with some “missing parts”. BATHROOM *** spacious and spotless clean. Also nothing fancy, but basic and useful. Clean towels and some dispensers with liquid soap/all body shower gel were also provided. BREAKFAST *** As many HIE hotels around the world, they provide complimentary buffet breakfast. This is quite basic meal, but everything what you need to start your day. It was quite busy due to few tourist coaches and few “very hungry” ladies, so all food was disappearing quite quickly. RESTAURANT *** There is a restaurant with some basic quick meals, but I decided to eat outside, just few hundred meters away. However, I have used bar in the hotel. Prices were OK and staff (sharing reception duties) was attentive and very polite. INTERNET ACCESS *** It is complimentary for all IHG Rewards members (up to 4 devices). Do not even try not to be one staying there. Why? Prices for Net access are very high: 1h – EUR 4.00, 24h – EUR 11.50. Free Wi-Fi was stable and easy to connect. CHECK-OUT EXPERIENCE *** As expected, easy, quick, professional. I felt really good as genuine reception staff welcomed me there with a smile and normal conversation. My bill was accurate and IHG Rewards points were allocated on my account few days after. STAFF *** Great! Attentive, professional, human. Thank you! OVERVIEW *** Good, standard stop-over hotel outside of city centre. Great if you need inexpensive, decent accommodation and you have your own car.
