I was looking for a comfortable, clean, and quiet hotel within walking distance from Atocha AVE Station, and Agumar fit the bill. Staff were helpful and very friendly with me.

Stayed only one night. Good location (walking distance to the train station) at an affordable price.

Walking distance of Puerta de Atocha train station. Good restaurants near the hotel.

The hotel was in a good location near train station, staff is very nice and in general our stay was pretty good.

A 7 minute walk from Atocha Station, l liked that the Agumar is in a typical neighborhood where the local amenities were plentiful and not aimed at the tourist market.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The receptionist sent us to a room on the 8th floor. The elevators just went up to the 7th floor and then we have to go up the stairs to the 8th floor. It seems that this floor was build much later so maybe that's why the elevator does not go to the last floor. The room was kind of small and the ac was off when we arrived so the room was super hot but at least it cooled off soon. The room was clean but not neat. The location of this hotel is prime. It is very close (3 blocks) to the atocha train station where u can take the subway to go to other parts of the city or catch the train to go outside the city such as Toledo which I recommend to go.

The train station is just a few blocks away, walkable in about 10 minutes from the hotel, on one of the main streets. Close to buses which can take you to all of the museums and parks in the neighborhood, or you can walk. Area is mixed commercial and residential, but no major shopping close by. Room was small, not luxurious, but comfortable, had plenty of light and a nice street view. It was quiet, bed was comfortable enough after a long flight. Staff may not be fluent in English, but I'm fluent in Spanish. Good value for the money.

Within walking distance of the main train station and El Parque Retiro, this hotel is in a good neighborhood full of local restaurants and self-catering and laundry services, a bit off the tourist path but really convenient to transportation. It is not the place if you want to be right in the thick of tourist Centro for your lodgings but the value quotient and convenience to Metro and local services was a great combination for me.

Clean, well kept, polite employees who spoke English. Good location as well.

Would recommend for someone needing a quiet place - rooms in the back face a very small interior courtyard and are very quiet. breakfast is low end, but suits its purpose. the staff is super professional and pleasant. the pics look nothing like the rooms I was in - on 2 separate occasions. but definitely not a cool place.

Had an initially horrible experience at the reception at check in. First gave an unfair exchange rate for the dollar that wasn't even close to the market rates, then when i am checked into a room and charged for internet, there is no internet connection possible in the room and also the heater wasn't working properly. Then sent a maintenance rep for the internet and air. He wasn't able to fix it. i asked for a room change and they initially refused till someone checked in next to my room and had the same no internet connection problem. The reception staff was unproffesional. The only reasonable employee was the computer tech. I was finally moved to a new room on a different floor and it was fine from there.

It's near Atocha, which is good if you're going to be using the train, and the subway isn't too far away, but it's not the best place ever. No one speaks fluent English.

We were traveling Europe on the fly and were pleasantly surprised by this hotel which we booked last minute! It was extremely clean and very nice. The staff was pleasant and the location was great since we came from the nearby train station. (Atocha)

Fantastic Hotel! It is very close to Atocha. There is a bus stop 1/2 a block away to the city center Bus 26 and 32 but double check we trying to remember which bus number is it. It has AC,mini bar and Wifi we paid 6€ each day.

It is by far not a luxary hotel; but it will meet your basic needs. The walls are thin and you can hear a lot through them. The food at the cafeteria and resturant was good but expensive. The staff was helpful.

The hotel is close to Atocha train station. We were able to take the train to Segovia. The trip is long but we did not change to a different train. The only problem with the hotel is that we did not see any place to eat nearby. Our friend has to go to the train station to eat breakfast because it cost 15 EURO to eat in the hotel. I will be happy to stay there again. I it is very close to the park and you can take buses in front of the hotel.

The hotel was very comfortable, and the housekeeping staff did an excellent job. I only speak English, so the staff was very competent, if not overly friendly. The location was close enough to Atocha station that all of our day trips were very convenient. The bus practically stopped on the doorstep. A grocery and several bars were close. My only complaint was the street noise, but I don't know if any hotel in central Madrid could do better.

Overall good value and great location. I got a smoking room even though I requested non, but I am okay with that. The staff was super polite, I overslept way pass check out time, I got a phone call at 2 pm asking if I am checking out very politely, and when I did check out, no charge and no comment on being late. The hotel is a little older, but for the price, it was great. Will definitely recommend.

Great tourist location. Close to major sites and train station. Room on the small side.

The room itself was very nice and clean. I forgot my toothbrush and razor and I got both for free (which I was able to use for the rest of my trip). However, you could hear EVERYTHING from the other rooms. Also, at 7am the cleaning woman walked into my room (WITHOUT knocking) and woke me up and just slammed the door without a word. When I called the front desk to find out what the heck was going on, they couldn't tell me anything.
