Had to spend a couple of days in Richmond so booked at Sleep Inn on Willis Road. Had a good friend with me. The staff was very professional, kind, friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was satisfactory. Our room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. There were several fast food places within close walking distance, even for two old ladies. We are familiar with Richmond, since each of us have lived there in the past, but were surprised by how close the hotel was to our events and the restaurants we wanted to visit. I'll stay here again if I travel to Richmond.
I was booked here by my company for three nights while working in Richmond. Checking staff is friendly, and very efficient. Very pleasant to checkin. I got to my room, the initial smell was very welcoming, and the room is very well appointed, king size bed, huge shower, nice tv, refrigerator, and microwave. In room coffee. I wouldn't say it is world class, but it is a superb value for the money. I stay several nights a week on average somewhere in surrounding states close to my home and I can honestly say I am impressed. I think most people will be pleasantly surprised as well.
Good value. Not exceptional, but did allow my dog to stay for an extra $10. Could see right into the Burger King next door. Sketchy people roamed outside, but that is not the hotel's fault. Staff was very friendly. Free breakfast was good.
The worst hotel ever bums in the gutter out front/ a drug deal going down in the parking lot, broken sprinkler in my room smoke detector mounted outside the drywall door to bathroom doesn't close and this was the"better room" we got moved to and hair on the mattress pad 🤢👎🏻
This is a very good hotel just south of Richmond that is convenient to I-95. This hotel fills-up almost ever night, so make sure you make a reservation or arrive early. An older hotel that is well maintained. H/VAC worked well. Check-in and out was efficient. The hot breakfast was excellent. Comfortable King Bed and clean. Daily USA Today Newspaper. Only 12 TV channels Many occupants get up early, so there was quiet a bit of noise around 6 am.
This is a budget hotel so I didn't expect amenities offered at higher priced hotels. It was clean & the staff was helpful & courteous. The hair dryer in my room didnt work & it was promptly replaced by the efficient maintenance person. The continental breakfast was good. Location to I-95 was convenient. My room was not quiet though, because it was located next to a vending machine & the elevator. This was the only reason I didn't rate the room higher.
We stopped for a quick stay to break up a 16-hour drive. The smell in the lobby is overwhelmingly perfumed and it was only when I got to the second floor that I realized that was probably to mask the scent of pot pervasive throughout the hall. Room was...eh. Weird stains on comforter. Bed is like a brick (which is why I'm awake at 4 am writing this). Tiny stand-up shower. Lovely view of the Burger King drive-through next door. If you literally just need a place to sleep before driving more, and prefer firm mattresses and don't mind a little sketchiness, this is probably fine. Otherwise, maybe try the Country Inn next door.
We had traveled all day and not reached our reserved hotel. We puled off 95 and the Sleep Inn was right there and had rooms available. So we cancelled the other reservation and spent the night here. Room was clean. Sheets crisp. We found the bed comfy. No tub but the very small shower stall served it's purpose. breakfast bar had hot food ready at 6 am, Conveniently, to get us on the road early. Staff was friendly. Hotel is pet friendly for a fee.
The hotel had an update, but it did not help. The guests were loud (late in the evening AND early in the morning). The non-smoking room we had was clearly used as a smoking room, not too strange when you know that the hotel still allows smoking on that floor, I thought we did not live in 1984 anymore. There is free breakfast, but even to American standards it is poor. When we complained with the night manager he told us he could not help us but he would make a note. When we talked to the day manager, she did not receive a note but she would take it up with the general manager. We are still waiting. Dear travelers there is a wide variety of hotels in the Richmond area, do yourself a favor and stay away from this hotel
I had points on one of my cards that the Sleep Inn accepted so I booked a two night stay. The staff were friendly and kindly changed my room to a non smoking room as I had requested but somehow it didn't go through. The staff were accommodating as well. The room was fairly small and did not have a bathtub, not too big a deal but it was tight with a 14 month old. Overall, it was an okay stay. I don't have any specific complaints and would stay again if the needed.
