The hotel has comfortable rooms but they are small. The breakfast buffet is quite limited. The location is very good and convenient. Right in the middle of the city by the 2 major shopping streets. The hotel does not have much service or any other amenities.

The hotel has NO parking. It is not well marked. Worse since we arrived on a dark rainy night. Directions to parking were vague, but we found a parking garage nearby. Added $36 US to cost of stay. Staff arranged a restaurant reservation near hotel, but the directions given by staff sent us in exactly the OPPOSITE direction. So we wandered in bad windy cold weather for 25 minutes. Should have been a 4 minute walk.

We had a great experience with the Konsulat. I was worried about the 2pm check in considering our flight arrived around 6am, but our room was ready as soon as we got there and we were also invited to have breakfast for free. (This convenience may have had to do with the fact that I emailed in advance explaining I was pregnant and would be grateful for any extra accommodation they could offer.) I also joined Hilton Honors (for free), which I recommend to anyone since you will always get better service as a rewards member. Nevertheless, the staff was extremely nice and helpful during every interaction, including helping us to straighten out a problem with our rental car company. Our room, which ended up being a suite (Hilton Honors upgrade), was very comfortable. The bathroom was divine -- gorgeous deep bath and rain shower. Bed was comfortable. Oh, the spa/bath house was quite nice with a subterranean hot pool and sauna. The location is also ideal. Right near the harbor, the tour stops, bus stop #3, the shopping district. There is construction going on directly next store, which looks like it could be a problem in the future. Fortunately, none was happening while we were there. Will stay here again if given the chance.

We had a really enjoyable stay for a special occasion weekend, lovely surroundings and smart room with complimentary snacks and coffee machine. Great location for everything and breakfast was plentiful, good choice. Professional and courteous staff, very helpful. Happy hour and complimentary drinks hour for guests. The noise from the street did bother us on occasion at the weekend despite requesting an upper floor based on other reviews on this site, though we did anticipate this might be downside to such a central location. Take ear plugs! Overall, we would a recommend a stay here especially if you can get a good deal via the Hilton sale.

Managed by the Hilton- opened 2017 this hotel is well located next to all the restaurants, shops and the harbour. Nice breakfast but all self- service. Not much choice for vegetarians. Rooms are good- being new and very comfortable. There is a Hot water Bath Tub and Sauna in the basement. Luggage handling is a slight issue. Kevin at the front desk was very helpful.

We had a great stay recently at this hotel in Reykjavik. This staff really went above and beyond helping us. Upon our arrival, my husband had a bolt issue with his suitcase making it impossible to roll. At check-in, he enquired about possibly finding a tool to fix it. Asdis, at the front desk, told us she’d give us a call in a few minutes to let us know if she found a tool. Within five minutes of making it to our room, she was there with a wrench set, and fixed the suitcase wheel for us herself!!! Breakfast was tasty and was a great start to our days. The beds were super comfortable. And the icing on the cake was the gym and bath retreat in the basement. Water and fresh towels were already hanging on the treadmills. The bath retreat had a small heated pool and nice sauna with lounging area. I’ve never seen this set up included with a hotel stay before (typically spas cost extra). It was lovely. There was also happy hour from 4-6pm, and a social hour from 6-7pm (free drink/person during social hour). We’ll be staying here again the next time we are in a Reykjavík. Thanks, everyone!

I was very impressed with the central location and easy accessibility of the Konsulat Hotel. But we were more impressed with the comfortable rooms, the great lobby, the wonderful breakfasts. In a land full of natural wonders, it is great to have a hotel that is like a warm piece of home.

I stayed 3 nights at this hotel with a group !! The location is Perfect. The staff is nice and it is a brand new and cozy hotel. I loved the decoration , it feels like home . It has good breakfast also .

We were very satisfied with our two nights at this hotel. Its beautifully decorated, even though the rooms are small. The breakfast was minimal, but the offerings were tasty. We loved that the locations was within walking distance to the sights we wanted to see in the city. There is street parking in the vicinity, but can be kind of tough to get depending on the time of the day. We would stay here again if we return to Iceland.

We stayed for one night having researched hotels quite extensively. Really happy with our choice. Great location with parking free 6pm-9am. Lovely decor and friendly staff. Great welcome drink and sushi before we went out. Front desk booked local restaurant and helped Recommeded one for our route. Really nice breakfast with ginger shots and delicious porridge, catering for all dietary options. Would recommend strongly.
