Hotel Odinsve

Very clean, nice separate space for our daughter (junior suite)

The hotel location was perfect. This was my first trip to Iceland, and we didn't realize Odinsve was close to all attractions. I consider this location as the center of "old town" per say. Raykjavik seemed to be so busy for new constructions, and there were so many "brand" "mega" hotel area near harbor. Yet, personally, I like relaxed, old-fashioned, hip, charming atmosphere. Odinsve got one. Two blocks from the bus stop from/to the airport, great coffee shops, and the commercial street. The room we got had a view of Hallgrimskirkja. The room size was small, and there was no bath tab. Yet, the sulfur smell shower gave me "hot spring" feeling, and I really liked it. Staffs were very friendly, and guests were well mannered (at least during my stay). Didn't have a chance, but the public pool/bath was 5 blocks away!

I don't have any other experiences in Reykjavik to compare this to, however the room was extremely small even for European standards. The bathroom was tiny and the water reeked of sulfur, although I am sure that is typical for Iceland. There are no key cards for the doors, and the hotel suggests you leave the cut key at the desk every time you exit. Hotel desk was not especially friendly or knowledgeable. The first floor restaurant Snaps was excellent!

We loved being close to the main strip, and the staff was incredibly helpful in pointing us in the right direction to hit the highlights of our short stay. The rooms were clean and bright.

Stayed at apartment 602. Loved the location and space - nicely furnished and comfortable for family of 4. Great stay!

I had the best experience at this hotel the staff was super friendly and is willing to accommodate for unplanned circumstances. My flight was delayed and I had booked the hotel with no refund if changes made to the reservation or reservation is cancelled overall hotel odinsve was understand of this situation and moved my reservation a day ahead and updated me to the suite from a normal room. Very friendly staff and great customer service. The location is great, rooms were very nice and decent as they were shown in pictures. I would definitely stay here again.

Large, beautiful room, but uncomfortable pillows.

Stayed for 5 nights at beginning and end of a seven day tour. Staff was very friendly and helpful in answering questions about restaurants and locations for services. Liked that this hotel is outside of the real touristy areas closer to the old harbor but it was easy to walk down to that area to visit numerous museums. Would recommend rooms in the back as customers arriving/departing hotel or restaurant can be a bit noisy. I would return to this hotel if I return to Reykjavik. LOVED Iceland and hope to return soon!

We stayed in one of the apartments and it was awesome. Great location and lots of space. We had 5 people (two twins, a full, and a rollaway) but you could for sure fit another person on the couch. Super comfortable. We ate in most nights because the kitchen was well-equipped so that helped us cut down on food costs and really feel like we were living in the town like locals :) The hotel staff was super helpful with everything from renting a car to answering our questions. Breakfast was not actually included and was kind of expensive so I would recommend eating elsewhere.

The staff was great and printed out the photo I requested of Elsa from frozen.

We stayed at the 2 bedroom apartment a couple of blocks away from the main hotel. I was very lovely and very spacious. Although we did not cook it had all you need in the fully equipped kitchen. Nice spacious living space . Perfect for a family . Breakfast at the hotel was very good and great selection of treats.

I stayed at the hotel in October 2016. I had been upgraded to a junior suite, so I had a little sitting area (a chair, table, TV and pullout sofa) that was convenient. The main bedroom area was fine, with a comfortable bed. The room was a little dark, though. The staff of the hotel was very helpful and accommodating - and the location was very convenient.

Great location easy to get around and at the breakfast is pretty good

Great location to explore Reykjavik...right in the heart of the main shopping/activity area, within easy walk to myriad of wonderful restaurants, pubs, waterfront, museums and other neighborhoods beyond the main tourist area. Room with ensuite bathroom was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful. Snaps restaurant was lively, offering delicious meals from breakfast through dinner. We'd highly recommend this hotel to any couple or family staying in Reykjavik...good value too!

The hotel room was spacious but the furnitrue was very uncomfortable, We stayed in the appartments and there was a very loud nightclub closeby that played loud music until about 4 am. We were exhausted and had a horrible time. Please let families know not to stay at this hotel.

Staff could not be any more helpful. Not super convenient to restaurants but just maybe 4-5 block walk. Room was very comfortable. Quiet street. Loved it.

Overall the hotel was perfect. The location could not be better, and the staff could not be any more friendly. When asked about restaurant recommendations or locations, they instantly took out maps to display locations, as well as ask exactly what we were looking for to make sure the recommended the right place, which they did each time. In fact, we probably didn't even need to go anywhere else, because the restaurant at the hotel (forget the name) was unbelievable. The food and service was top notch, and the prices were very reasonable. The only negative thing I have to say is that when it came to coordinating with any tours outside of the hotel, I would rely and communicate only with the staff of the tour companies or airport shuttles. The purpose of the trip was to surprise my wife with an opportunity to see the northern lights. I booked a few tours through a small, private company, as opposed to the larger bus tours. Upon coming back from dinner one night, we were told that all of the tour companies had called the hotel and cancelled the northern light tours due to cloud cover, which a lot of the companies did. However, I decided to call the company I booked with, and they did not cancel. In fact, they picked us up and it ended up being the only night in which we saw the lights, which was a huge part of why we chose Iceland as our destination. Again, most tour companies did call to cancel, but if we didn't call our tour company to confirm, we would have missed a lifetime experience. The other miscommunication dealt with our shuttle back to the airport. We were told that the shuttle was to arrive at a certain time, and it never did, which led us to having to hire a private cab which was a lot more expensive. None of this was done intentionally, just miscommunication that could have happened anywhere, I just recommend you communicate directly with the tour companies because there are so many of them. I would absolutely go back to this hotel as everyone was extremely friendly, the rooms were clean, and location could not have been better. Iceland is an unbelievable country, and we will definitely be back, and we will definitely book a room at Hotel Odinsve again.

I was very happy with this hotel. The staff made guests feel at home and were responsive to all our needs. If we return to Iceland, we will undoubtedly stay there again.

Hótel Óðinsvé is located within minutes of walking distance from central Reykjavík and all that it has to offer. Yet it is located in a quiet corner of town. The newly renovated rooms are smart and comfortable. The breakfast buffet is outstanding and is served in their charming restaurant. Wifi internet is included in the hotel rate. All in all, if you have a night or two to spend in Reykjavík, Óðinsvé is a very good value.
