Great hotel in perfect location. Easy access to everything. Hotel spotless, very unique and comfortable. Staff were amazingingly helpful. Not the best variety of breakfast but great quality of what was offered.

The staff seemed okay. The room was crowded and hard to move around for me. I banged my head on the tv multiple times as it stuck out from the wall at an odd angle. The most worrisome thing is that the bathtub had black mold around the edges. I was concerned about that. The room I had was a nice corner room with a good view but it was close to housekeeping so I heard noises early in the morning (and I am hard of hearing). I was surprised they didn't offer free water bottles to guest like other hotels often do. I was underwhelmed by the hotel.

Really great location and amazing staff. Rooms were clean and spacious although lacking a bit of detail (eg lights not working). Mattress and pillows were comfortable. No double quilt, strange. Breakfast was limited but good, it would good if it included vegan sausages and bacon. Spa is truly disappointing and we paid extra for it, was not worth it at all - just a warm shallow pool (aka hot tub) no bubbles, no depth, pretty pointless and a sauna room. That's it.

I stayed in Room 102 and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The noise from the club directly below was unbearable – thumping music and shouting until the early hours. I was completely misled and mis‑sold this room. At no point was I warned that it sat above a nightclub. When I complained to reception, I was told I should “consider myself lucky” the club didn’t go on until 5am, as apparently some nights it does. That is not acceptable customer service. Instead of acknowledging the problem, the hotel tried to brush it off and refused to take responsibility, despite me raising the issue both in person and through emails afterwards. This company clearly mis‑sells rooms and then denies accountability when guests suffer the consequences. Be very careful before booking – if you value sleep, honesty, and basic respect, look elsewhere.

Þhingholt is a gem of a boutique hotel that offers the quality you’d expect from a Center Hotel. Fantastic location close to everything, set on a quaint side street (but warning: late-night weekend bar/club spillover noise). Photos online are true to the decor and atmosphere: loved the ambiance! Exceptional staff - especially the reception crew, who offered many helpful recommendations during our stay. Very clean rooms, a good breakfast, and a great spa. The welcome plate was lovely, and the ability to visit spas at other Center Hotels was an unexpected treat. I’ll definitely be back.

Visiting from Las Vegas, NV./World travelers. First time visitors to Iceland. First off the staff: I told them it was my wife's birthday and they went out of their way to make her welcome special and unique. Balloons, pastries, and a hand written card wishing her a happy birthday. They made me look like the husband of the year. Cannot thank them enough. Throughout our stay their kindness and good attitude never stopped. Helpful in every capacity. Secondly, our room: We reserved the suite with the downstairs living room area. Room was very clean. Smelled good. Decor was tasteful. Slippers and robes for 2 in the closet. Has a safe and a fridge. No microwave. But that was ok. The room was very comfy and welcoming. As was the rest of the hotel. Third, Food: Breakfast buffet did not disappoint. Some people say in their reviews the description is misleading about it. I don't know what their problem is but they were either blind or so dang picky they went looking for stuff to complain about. Great taste and all freshly made that morning. Forth, Location: We were literally in the heart of everything and anything you could want to do and enjoy for food, bars, and shops. Short walks to many of the best parts of the capital or a quick can ride if it was too cold or windy. Overall: 5 stars! Hands down. A great place to stay and worth every cent. Much appreciation to the staff. Well done. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. PS: Best part was we were blessed to see the Northern light

The staff was solid, polite and helpful. The room was clean, but the twin beds were disappointing as they were basically cots with a thin mattress, not up to the quality standard of the rest of the hotel. The room was small, my Gold VIP room upgrade was denied (there were rooms available) and they did not accept American Express. Breakfast included with decent offerings and the staff itself was the reason for the 4 stars

Jerry (the filipino guy) was AWESOME! He gave us the best service possible. Kudos to hotel housekeeping for cleaning our room everyday. Awesome hotel!
