It is an older hotel, but kept up and clean. Our room was small, but had everything we needed. Decor was unique to Iceland. The breakfast buffet was quite good with both hot and cold food and plenty of it. We found the staff very friendly especially the young man on night duty. They were very helpful with arranging a tour for us and making sure we had our airport pickup.

Good location . Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Tours can also pick you up here . Breakfast is good ... plenty of choices including hot items (eggs, sausage , potatoes ). This is good savings as food is expensive in Reykjavik.

Looking at the pictures, it seemed alot more modern. I was surprised to see the older carpet and older condition in the hallways overall. However, the breakfast is exceptional, and amazing, which makes up for it. Rooms are on the smaller side. We had an amazing view of the harbor, but the water smell was pretty strong. I wish they had food for purchase at lunch and dinner because it was a hassle to leave in the evenings to grab food, after a long day and just wanting to rest.

Nicer than it looks on entry. The breakfast was fine, and the room clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. A good value.

Left BOS on Monday and arrived at KEF at 4:30am on a Tuesday morning. Hotel check in for the 3 of us wasn't until 4:00 pm (16:00) and we expected to just be able to leave our bags in their storage room until 4pm. We were pleasantly surprise when the room was available at 6:30am!!! So we checked in for 5 hours of shuteye until we started our day of exploring Reykjavik around 10am. Staff, room, food (breakfast buffet included next morning) and location, were outstanding. Would definitely stay again. Very safe area near main shopping, restaurants, and sightseeing venues. Book it...you'll love it!

Very nice and comfortable hotel. Location was great for walking down town, room was spacious, and they had a large variety of food for breakfast.

Average hotel in central Reykjavik. The staff could not have cared less when we checked in or checked out but the Bartender was very accommodating and great to talk to, to get some local knowledge. The rooms were old and desperately in need of a renovation, but the room was large (apartment style). Much trendier hotels to stay in Reykjavik though. Good location.

Great location and good value for your money. We were greatly surprised with the breakfast! I'd definitely come back!

The hotel is a little pricey by American standards, but the location is great. Our first room was at the back and not as nice as our second, which was larger and had a water view. Breakfast was wonderful and helpful knowledgeable staff made a huge difference in our stay.

Kinda of a pain to lug suitcases up the few steps in middle of the hallways, but the comfy bed made up for it. The room was small and had no view, but I was looking for a comfy, clean and safe place to stay. The staff was super friendly. When I go back to Iceland I would consider staying heer again.

We liked the hotel. Room was quite large with nice balcony. It is not new, but still charming. Great breakfast and service. Good location to downtown shopping and waterfront. We used it as a base for a quick weekend trip to Reykjavik . It provided easy highway access to get out and about. It is not a USA business hotel, but a fine place in a more European small-hotel tradition.

Hotel was fine--young man at front desk was particulary helpful when we needed a medical clinic. Breakfast buffet was good and included in rate. Shocked to find that the 'shuttle available' from airport to hotel was a $45 RT additional cost-- no public transportation.

Far enough off the main shopping roads to be quiet, yet close enough to walk to city centre and very good restaurants are within 3-5 minutes walk. Great car park, easy to find, great breakfast. Rooms just average - beds firm but comfortable. Ours were twin beds arranged dorm style, not geared for a romantic vacation, but perfectly fine if you are there to see the country, not just lounge around a hotel. Shower stall small, but my large husband managed to shower without trouble. Staff very helpful about directions, very friendly. We left the maid a tip on the first day and she didn't take it - service really is included in Iceland! We were there over Christmas, when almost everything in town is closed. We ate soup in the hotel bar Christmas Eve, and although I thought it was complimentary, it wasn't. Be prepared, all food is crazy expensive in Iceland - our soup was $9, but it was good enough to hold us til the next morning. If you are looking for a decent place to get a good night sleep and a great start to your day, this no-frills hotel is just the place.

Good value, Very clean. Basic hotel for Icedland. Breakfast very good, staff corurteous. Great location for the value, can walk anywhere in the city but easy access to getting out. Tours agencies stop here for pickup.

The price and location were great. The staff was wonderful. We had several questions re: planning some tours and where to eat and the staff went above and beyond to help us out. I highly recommend this hotel.

the hotel was in a good spot with a good view but wasn't particularly special inside the rooms. still, it was a good value!

This hotel was nice, what you'd expect from a 3-star hotel -- nothing to write home about in terms of decor, etc., but the staff were extremely helpful. I will say that the breakfast area, for being the size of the hotel that it is, needs to be much larger. The breakfast itself was great, though!

The hotel is very nice: great view of bay and mountains from the window, a short walk (at most fifteen minutes) from downtown, a 24 hour grocery store and a bank to change money right around the corner. The staff--Katrin in particular--is absolutely incredible. They organized my bus ride to the Blue Lagoon (even happily changing my pickup time twice as my plans changed) and reserved a car for me to rent. They also had great advice about what to do and what to see. I stayed in another hotel on my last night in Iceland. It cost twice as much as FossHotel Baron, but it just couldn't compare.

After spending days in many glorified backpacker B&B's for $100-$150 a night, it was wonderful to find a hotel at a somewhat reasonable price, wonderful service and charming room decor.

Very convienent location. Room was clean. Computer in lobby to access e-mail. Internet access in room was advertised, but you had to pay for it. The breakfast was first rate. They opened up early for us the day we left. Staff was very pleasant. Iceland is very expensive, bring lots of money!
