It's a nice one bedroom apartment in easy walking distance to all the major sites in Reykjavik. We ended up using the kitchen more than we expected and it was well stocked with needed equipment. The bed was a bit too firm, but overall we had a great 2 night stay.

When I was searching for lodging in Reykjavik, this hotel stood out as being unusually nice. As we arrived, the staff were very friendly, helpful and stored our luggage since we arrived in the morning. The units were spotless, spacious, very modern and included kitchen amenities that we loved. We were within quick walking distance to the picturesque harbor, museums and restaurants. We were also within easy walking distance of Harpa, Sun Voyager and the fun shopping and restaurants that everyone says you should see. When it was time for us to leave, the staff ordered taxis the day before to make sure we could easily get to the cruise port. This stay could not have better!

The room itself was great. The service provided by one person at the front desk was below par. Not helpful and very poor communication about the possibility of an early check-in on the day we arrived. Had requested early check-in by email a week prior and requested again upon arriving early in the morning. Of course I understand if there is another guest staying that morning. That is not a problem. We were given no indication about timing of cleaning staff and were simply told it was anytime up to 3:00 pm. There was no service provided above and beyond in this regard, as there was no attempt to lift a finger to help us. I was very disappointed by this one person. Everyone else was great, and helped to preserve a 4 out of 5 rating for us.

Really truly a great property! We loved the fact that it was close to everything and had a fully equipped kitchen! Iceland is expensive and we bought eggs and bacon and other things. Will come back! There were 4 of us!

The Black Pearl was very comfortable and clean. It is located within a short walk of all the major attractions in Reykjavik as well as restaurants and bars but was quiet at night. Our room was well equipped and very modern and up to date. The staff are very accommodating and helpful.

Clean, convenient and centrally located. There was nothing wrong with this place. We had a 1 bedroom for our family of 4 and it was perfect. Nothing missing. They have everything that a well equipped apartment would have. Best part for you coffee fans like me: plenty of coffee! There’s a push button machine in the reception lobby and an originaline nespresso machine in the room with endless pods. We are big coffee drinkers so it was great. Would stay here every time! Also close to excellent restaurants and shopping.

The room was noisy. No AC. Not a 5 star property. No pool, no gym. No restaurant on property. It is just an apartment. We asked to make the sofa bed and was told it is 250 pounds per night. We asked for late check out by an hour and told it would cost 250 pounds. It is also far from downtown. For tours to pick up from nearby bus stop 4 the companies charge extra.

Highly recommend The Black Pearl for so many reasons. This was one of the few places that would work for our family of 4. The kids are now adults and one is very very tall so a sofa bed wouldn’t work. The apartment we stayed in was one of the best we’ve used. Check in was a breeze, and we lucked out being able to check in early. There is so much in walkign distance, we could have stayed at least another week just to see more. The apartment was spotless, the amenities very high quality, and the showers in the words of my 16yo son, are exquisite. They are quite wonderful to be sure. There is dining all around with a huge variety of options. If you prefer to stay in and cook, a grocery is an easy walk and the kitchen is loaded. We found the beds to be very comfy, the duvets made them cozy. Large dining area makes for great family game time - we played poker with the chips in the suite. The couch is comfy for a large family to relax after exploring to watch a movie. Thank you for a wonderful time in Reykjavik & hope to visit you again!
