The room was stuffy when the blackout curtains were used. It was a noisy area since the bars are open much later than we have been used to and the people love to drink and sing in the streets. Great location for walking!

Next door to a grocery store and cooking utensils and possibilities in the Apartment. Early check in was possible but delayed checkout not possible. Communication with host excellent. Self check in very easy.

The property was a good locationfor access to transportation, food, shopping and activities. Grocery store on site was good.generslly the place was quiet but back side of building was noisy in early mornings do to off loading of deliveries. Room was clean, bed comfortable but there was a musty smell in hallway. No facecoths provided with towels. Most annoying thing was communication. Had selected payment on arrival but request for payment was made a few days before arrival thru a website with no apparent link to property. When asked for clarification just got appeared to be an automated reply. When I didn't pay my room was cancelled the day I left for Island. Managed to reboot and paid at time of booking. Details on check-in only arrived after landing in Iceland and were not very clear.

Excellent hotel. Grocery store on ground floor walkable to everything. Place was spotless and quiet. Will definitely stay again next time in Reykjavík. Highly recommend.

Wonderful! The apartment was spotless and well-appointed and the location could not be beat. Steps away from rainbow street, the cat cafe and the grocery store, it was basically a 5 minute walk to anywhere you wanted to be! We did not experience any super loud noise but it did get warm, something we were prepared for. Will 100% stay here on our next trip to Reykjavik.

If I could give this hotel 10 stars out of 5 I would, this is the best location I’m surprised they’re not charging more. The good the kitchen is excellent, the living room is excellent, the view from the penthouses are excellent, the fixtures are all super modern and very premium the bathroom had a washer and drier just everything about this place was excellent, if you’re reading this review coming from America you have to stay here no need to do any more research. The only bad is bedroom is right by the walkway and so if it’s summer and you open the window you won’t get that perfectly quiet serene sleep if you chose a penthouse but by 9-10pm things get quiet so if you’re an early sleeper don’t stay here if you want to be in the center of it all with premium everything stay here.

Very cute place. I would def stay here again. There was some construction early in the morning but other than that no issues. There was a grocery store next door with was helpful. Stores were in working distance. My only complaint would be a general thing in Iceland which was parking was hard to find during the day and it was $15 every 3 hours.

I loved the safety features of the property. Every door had a code to enter. I appreciated the elevator that was available. There was a grocery store right next door and many of local restaurants and tourist attractions were near by and within walking distance. The only bummer was parking, but that's an issue all over Reykjavik. Good thing is parking is free from 9pm-9am, so if you plan a fun filled day you could potentially avoid paying for parking. My only recommendation is maybe having a laundry area and more bathroom towels readily available. I would highly recommend staying here.

My stay at ALVA Apartments Hallveigarstigur was absolutely amazing. The apartment was spotless, modern, and fully equipped with everything I needed from a full kitchen to comfortable bedding and blackout curtains that made for perfect rest. The location is unbeatable, within walking distance to downtown attractions, restaurants, and shops. It truly felt like a home away from home. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Reykjavik!

Misleading description lead to big disappointment

Location in the city is good, and self check in easy enough. So disappointed on walking in to room 308. After reading all the flowery description about Alva being pinnacle of luxury meticulously crafted, breath taking city views, sophisticated atmosphere, it is nothing more than a standard 3 star apartment room, with a view over a large double carpark, exterior refrigeration fans and a truck loading dock (most of the level 3 apartments on that side of the building will have similar view) and as the Alva is on top of a supermarket the noise of fork lifts and truck staff moving things in and out of the supermarket in the mornings is very disturbing. There is no light in the entry/wardrobe area and its very difficult to see inside the wardrobe, the small eating table has stains over the surface. Maybe on 4th floor, on opposite side of the building you may see some city sights. I really wish that owner/s of these investment apartments would not be misleading in the website and booking platforms' description. It is very pricy for what you get and and disappointing. I would have added photo but doesnt give oprion from gallery.
