Great place to stay, everything was clean, there is a supermarket right next to it, and the main shopping street is very close. Beds were comfortable and the shower was very modern. Overall great place to stay in Reykjavik. Recommend and would go again.

Everything was wonderful. The hosts were very responsive to every question and even worked with our travel schedule to help a tired family settle in comfortably on our only day in Reykjavik. Highly recommend.

I just loved the experience so much! The attic apartment we booked is so comfortable and the hot tub is so perfect for relaxing. Price and quality is awesome! Also the support I needed during check in was very efficient and quick! It’s easy to find a parking spot around and there is a grocery store just down the street. Beds are so comfortable and the dining table so large. Perfect place!

Very clean room. Perfect location, it is right in the center. There is a communal hot tub at the end of the entrance balcony(we didn’t use it). The floors are heated as well as a heated towel rack(best thing ever)!!! We loved our stay will definitely be back!!

We couldn’t wish for a better place to be! Right downtown, grocery right next to the building, apartment very new and so well isolated. The beds were so comfortable! We booked the attic house with the hot tub on the balcony and it was just amazing! We could see a spectacular northern lights while bathing in the hot tub, it was unique! We had private washing and drying machines, dish washers, oven and great kitchen view thanks to the big windows, large round dining tables. Check in super fast and easy and telephone support prompt, kind and helpful! Amazing experience!

ALVA apartments was beautiful and in a prime location! There was a patio/balcony view of the city. The room was very modern and updated; it felt very luxurious. We enjoyed our stay as a couple. The couchbed was very comfortable if you are needing to accommodate more than 2 people in the one bedroom suite. The pictures are a little misleading, we were under the impression that there was a personal hot tub on our balcony, it is instead a shared hot tub for our floor. Fortunately there are not many units so no one ever used the hot tub that I saw for our whole stay (In April, off season). Overall ALVA apartments was a beautiful place to stay, and the host was knowledgable, responsive, and helpful. I would stay here again!

A beautifully decorated, clean, and comfortable apartment, warm and welcoming and the perfect place to spend two nights at the end of a long trip. Steps from everything you’ll need — groceries, restaurants, shopping, nightlife. Responsive customer service. And the private hot tub was totally worth it. If we’re in Reykjavik we’ll definitely stay here again.

The small studio was very clean. We did not understand how to get into the inside doors but watched a YouTube video and were then successful! We were very central round the corner from rainbow street with bars and restaurants nearby. Supermarket next door. Near to tour bus stops for pickups. 16-20 min walk from BSI bus station. Kettle toaster and hob and equipment but no oven or microwave. Lovely bed and shower. Would recommend.

We had a few unfortunate experiences with this property, although I suspect they were atypical. As this is self check-in, instructions are provided in advance on how to get into the property using digital access codes. Upon arrival, there was no parking for the property and it turns out that there is no free street parking in downtown Reykjavik anymore (a change from the many times I visited in the past). We spent a lot on street parking, although the automated parking kiosks are everywhere and easy to use When we tried to access the room using the code we were given, it didn't work. The battery had died on the locking mechanism. We were fortunate to find an incredibly kind and helpful member of the cleaning staff who assisted us to access the room (we were exhausted from 18 hrs of travel by this time). The next day, our access code to the hallway leading to our room also failed to work. Unfortunately, the courtesy phone to call for help is inside the hallway that we couldn't access. Once again, an employee who was leaving for the day happened to bump into us and spent almost an hour with us to ensure we reached someone who could help us. I recall she was from Poland, and is an exemplary employee. We were issued a new code and had no problems after that. The room was very nice although I don't understand Icelandic toilets at all. Sometimes, we couldn't flush because there was no water. Then it would eventually work. Rather confusing. Overall: very nice. Convenient location!

The room was stuffy when the blackout curtains were used. It was a noisy area since the bars are open much later than we have been used to and the people love to drink and sing in the streets. Great location for walking!
