La Quinta Inn Reno

Bed was comfy, room smelled of smoke. It's like an overpriced motel 6.

In town for business needed to balance cost with closeness to the airport. This was it - an old school feeling motel-ish inn on the freeway, walking distance from the airport. Lots of road noise, work crews coming and going (3 am truck startups), crying babies, foot traffic outside the rooms, all which open to the outside. Not the best, not the worst. Good internet, clean rooms, decent beds. Pretty typical old La Quinta .

Hotel is ok - comfortable, characterless. There is a swimming pool and free muffin/coffee in the morning.

I had just come from another Reno hotel just as people from Burning Man were leaving the festival. At the previous hotel near the airport the staff was frazzled, agitated, unfriendly and mostly unable to cope with the influx of BM crowd and seemed like they just wanted everybody to leave. They had closed the pool in an abject panic. At La Quinta, the entire staff was sensible, calm and seemed to enjoy dealing with the high demand of dusty guests. They did not cut a single corner or break composure for a second over the course of the hours I was there. Every amenity was open like any other time. This is a great staff. .

It was nice and convenient, walking distance to the airport.

Staff were very professional and friendly and the room itself was clean, comfortable. The hotel is in a relatively industrial area and right across from a major post office facility. The exterior is quite old/dated looking. The hotel served its purpose for a family business trip for a few days.

The staff was very welcoming at 11:30 pm when we arrived. It was not made clear to us that we would need to take a cab at that hour of the night, so we had to spend unexpected money on this. Our room was comfortable. It was nice to have breakfast in the room as we were not familiar with the area. It was a nice surprise that we could get a ride to and from the casino for dinner.

Ancient facility. No elevator. Rusted staircases. Exterior entrances to rooms. Very 1970's. Better options available.

Holiday weekend hotel rates are a supply and demand operation. Raising the rates does not raise the amenities. Pro travel tip. Do not travel on holiday weekends if it can be avoided.

I've stayed at this LaQuinta many times. It's usually clean and quiet and I feel safe and comfortable there. This time however, the bathtub was pretty dingy and dirty. When I turned on the water, only the hot water worked; the cold water knob just spun around and no water came out. The scalding hot water made it impossible to take a shower. I'm guessing the cleaning staff had the same problem which would explain the dirty tub. I notified the desk at check out and they apologized, but it seems like this problem should have been addressed prior to renting the room.

Exterior of building needs work, broken concrete steps. Wood needs paint. The interior of our room was excellent. Would sta Y here again

I've stayed at this hotel before and was very happy. This time, however, I had a room facing the freeway. It was very noisy. In this room, the beds were old- they had divots on each side with a high spot in between, and they made noise when you got in and out. The pillows were very lumpy- it was hard to get comfortable. The room was clean and the staff was nice.

The staff was very nice. The hotel is very dated and needs a facelift. But otherwise good for the price.

Pet friendly, spacious, very easy to find, lots of parking, inexpensive

Desk person was rude and not helpful when I called to ask about shuttle from airport. I wanted to know if shuttle would be available when my flight was scheduled to arrive about 10:30PM. She just kept repeating that the driver goes home at 11:00PM. Since the hotel is 5 minutes from the airport it seemed possible I could still ride the shuttle but she never gave a clear answer and finally said to get a cab. It might be useful for hotel to know when I and another female customer did call a cab he refused to take us because it was not a profitable fare since hotel is close to airport. That left 2 women late at night trying to walk and find the hotel carrying luggage. Did I mention I am 72 and had been in transit from Europe for over 30 hours?

Very clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Conveniently close to airport.

Just bad from beginning to end. It does however have that good old down home crack house feel to it.

We paid way more then I would normally pay for this hotel because of lack of hotel choices. Overall this is an average hotel and not worth more then $50.

It is a good choice anyway. No resort fee. Will come back.

We went to a conference at the Peppermill resort, which unfortunately was booked (and it cost over $150/night, a bit high for us). So we went looking for a good place close by, and La Quinta was the best deal we could find. They did not disappoint: good free breakfast included, free WiFi, close to other restaurants, right next to the freeway - all you could expect from a good value hotel. If you're in the area and don't want to spend that much for a good place, this is the place for you.
