I went to Celeya, Mexico to attend a wedding. On my way back to the states, I checked into this hotel based on the TripAdvisor reviews. This place did not disappoint. The room was spacious, the bathroom was spotless, and there are just no words for the views. This hotel sits on top of a hill overlooking the city of Queretaro. The staff was excellent, very good in English, even though they tolerated me practicing my Spanish! A lot of smiles, but no laughs. Very accommodating and professional. I met some friends from Tequisquiapan for dinner, in the restaurant, we dined on pasta, arracherra, burgers and enchiladas. The food was plentiful, tasty and smartly presented. The limonada was great as well, especially with the mineral water. I arranged for the desk to have a cab arrive for me at 6am to the airport. They promptly complied. Their transportation van leaves at 4am for one trip to the airport. I got to meet Luis from Diamonte Taxi, who was on time and very polite. Needless to say, I arrived at the airport with plenty of time for my flight. To me, when I travel to Queretaro, and not stay with friends, I will stay here! Good job, Holiday Inn!
From my last visit we can see that they are improving, things are working details are being taking care. The hotel is great but the location isn't if are looking to go out, quite far from every thing.
The view from the hotel is amazing. The rooms are nice and comfortable. The pillows were a very pleasant surprise. Room service breakfast was extremely well served for he price (scrambled eggs with ham for around 4 USD). But the first time I ordered form service, there was no bread or tortillas given. The second time we asked for tortillas and bread, but no butter or jam was given :(. The bathroom was very clean, beds as well, so I will consider staying again, but they need improvement on the little things and in the cafeteria in the main level. My wife ordered coffee and was given coffee so dense it resembled syrup. Out of five stars, I'd give it a 3.8
I stayed in this hotel for the last weekend of May... dirty pool, very bad service in general, front desk personnel unable to do anything right, the room smelled like dirty pamper, our privacy was broken twice, first by opening the door room with no call at all by room cleaning personnel, and second when we found the door opened when we came back from breakfast). But worse, after a discussion with front desk personnel about giving me back my open voucher, they refused to do it, even though I had already payed... Today I found my credit card number was used to pay at an office supply store at Queretaro... I feel not only dissapointed but betrayed... That is a hotel run by criminals...
Arrive at 2:10 pm room not ready, Spyre member. They claim that have a gym its out of order 4 months now, at least must be informed in the web page, isn't. The drain in the shower doesn't work, flood out all the bathroom evrytime you have a shower, the TV doesn't work with control only manual, the meal in the restaurant comes cold...so other than be a nice people is a disaster.
This place was one of the worst experiences on any hotel in my life, we were in Queretaro for my children swim meet and we booked here because it was close to the park. There was only one elevator working and it was used mainly by the workers of the hotel, people transporting food, pushing service carts, chamber maids carts, etc. There were always a line to use it, we used the stairs instead of waiting in line. The keys to the rooms never worked so we ended up asking the front desk to re-program them even before going down to the rooms. The hot and cold water in the sink were inverted, so my little boy almost burned his hand while brushing his teeth. There is remodeling going on in the second floor, so from 9 to 6 there is noise all over the place, also they have a major architectural error because the way the hotel is constructed it works as a "boom box" so any noise in the hallways goes all the way up and down, the same goes for the AC units in the roof, you get this humming noise 24 hours a day. The managment lets people from outside the hotel get in the grounds and pool, no one really gave us a satisfactory explanation about this and to make matters worst, these people got in the pool dressed. The matress in my room was so old it "hug" me, I ended up sleeping on the floor. I could go with more things but I'm beggining to be mad again, just stay somewhere else.
Construction ongoing Rooms smell and are dirty Old furniture even for platinum members Food carpaccio ok steaks really bad Service ask how food was I said not good and he walks away ? Best is the view over the city see pic
Too many things doesn't work properly is visible the wear out. damage in rooms walls, furniture the same. Staff is OK , even not well trained they try to cooperate. The location is far from down towm no walking distance atractions. Internet is OK.
This is a very nice Holiday Inn with very attentive staff. Loved the beds, linens, and pool. Rooms are very comfortable. Prices were very reasonable in the restaurant and the food was good. I especially enjoyed the eggs cooked to order and the tacos at breakfast! Isabella makes the tacos from scratch right at the station. Delicious. We did have one night with no air conditioning but it was fixed promptly the next morning. There is a Starbucks in the Crown Plaza which is right next door. Much better than the coffee served in the restaurant. Interesting to note that the restaurant at the Crown Plaza has the exact same menu as this Holiday Inn. Although I did not choose this hotel, I would stay here again.
The hotel is OK, the rooms have enough space and are confortable, it has a bathtube which is not too comun to find in Mexico. The breakfast is not included in the price, but it has a good variety. The service was OK, but not too great.
