Having stayed at the Glebe on visits to Queenstown over many years, I can thoroughly recommend this apartment complex. Our family of four stayed in a 2 bedroomed apartment with lake / courtyard views. The apartment was spotless and very well equipped for self catering. It is easy to order takeaway from several nearby outlets, e.g. Pedro's HOL, who deliver if ordered in advance. Staff at the Glebe are friendly and nothing is too much trouble re booking trips to the stunning scenery & activities around Queenstown, car rental, airport information etc. With underground parking available, you can leave your car and walk into the central area from the Glebe in minutes. A 'home from home', the Glebe is our preferred choice when visiting this stunning part of NZ - give it a try!
Our group of 4 families had 4 Courtyard apartments. Big in size, fully fitted out with quality kitchen ware and loads of bedding. Excellent drying room for the ski gear and the town is right there. Friendly staff. Highly recommend.
Room 501 has 4 bedrooms with 2 lounge rooms,2 bathrooms, and an extra toilet and is very spacious. Good views with balcony and best of all close to the centre of town. Queenstown is really going off so it is essential to be close to all restaurants.A GREAT PLACE!!!!
Once again, The Glebe appartments excelled in most departments. The location is hard to beat and the management team of Helen, Anne and Juno are always there to assist & are very understanding , in what I imagine could be a difficult job at times. We always stay here and we weren't disaapointed, being our 4th season in a row. We came this time to visit our son and girlfriend as well, whom weren't quite settled till late May, which meant little availability, whilst we would be here. We were going to have to move 4 times but fortunately with a cancellation and some handy work by Anne we secured the 4 bedroom 2.5 bathromm appartment. It was great , with 2 good living areas, easily accomodating 5 of us.The 4th bedroom was a spare but good for extra storage if needed. Suite 501, also has carparking in the first bay which is less walk up the hill and seems better parking than the upper parking bay. Unfortunately there was building work going on in next door appt, which was a little annoying at times, but we were out most of the time skiing so not that impacting, however my only critique is, it would have been nice to know and or slightly less rate. However I fully acknowledge we had been very lucky with upgrades in the past and appreciative, as I mentioned in my previous reviews. We do miss the spa from the penthouses. We then moved to the 3bed/Lakeview appt 702 which is also very nice & accomodating, although obviously not as grande as the 4 bedda. The view of the lake is great. You can hear more people running outside the room though as exposed to the road and a long corridor to the stairs or lift. All rooms very clean, with all provisions needed. Recommend The Glebe as the best accomodation in Queenstown and for all types. Even though a family trip, I would stay here for business as well, & also excellent for couples. Thanks again Helen, Anne & Juno. Chris
Went for a nice ski trips Queenstown, and stayed at the Ben Lomond penthouse suite. The first impression is WOW! It's huge in size, and the fireplace in the living room made it extremely cozy. The suite has 3 bedrooms (all three have their own toilets) and a kitchen with full standard cooking equipment. It also came with a laundry place with a dryer. Stepping outside the huge "balcony", we sit a jacuzzi, which is perfect in my opinion after a day of skiing. The staff were also extremely helpful with restaurants and activity recommendations. There is really nothing to not like about it, the place is huge, the service is good, and the jacuzzi is just an awesome bonus! Will definitely want to come again should my family comes back for a ski trip!
This was my 4th trip to QT and my husbands 5th and this is by far the best place we've stayed yet. Perfect location just on the out skirts of the town centre so you're just a few minutes walk from all the cafes and restaurants, but far enough away that you don't hear any of the pubs and clubs. We were in a one bedroom apt which was perfect for 2 people. We used the kitchenette a few times, including the slow cooker and having the in-room laundry facility was really useful as we were there for 16 nights. They even serviced the room for us once half way through our stay which was a nice surprise. I have to give Anne a huge thank you as she was a super hero a few times. Firstly on our first day, we were supposed to arrive early afternoon but our flight got diverted to Christchurch. Anne made arrangements so we could pick up the keys when we eventually got to QT at midnight. When we finally did arrive, Anne had left us beer, wine and chocolate and a birthday card for my husband. As we had essentially missed out on our first night, this kind gesture really made our night. Lastly, the hotel has zero tolerance for noise late at night. One night a group staying in another room near ours were having a party and woke us up at 1am. But one phone call to reception and Anne had the party stopped in a few minutes. I will definitely stay here again
Booked a one bedroom but got upgraded to a two bedroom. Was huge! Bigger than my own apartment. Huge living and dining room with full size fully equipped kitchen. You could move into this place. Easily accommodates 6-8 pp. Also had a huge balcony with a view of the lake and surrounds. Could see the gondola going up and down. The living area and bedrooms could maybe be set out a little better in my opinion for functionality but absolutely nothing wrong as is. Friendly helpful staff also. Also close to town. 2 minutes walk. First time to Queenstown and loved every second.!! Would recommend and definitely stay again. And can I just recommend getting takeaway from Predro's House of Lamb!! Google it.
We have been traveling regularly to Queenstown in the winter for 7 years and The Glebe is by far the best experience we have had. What makes it is a combination of staff with a happy pleased to assist attitude and the location and amenities provided. There is a range of accommodations to suit all travelers - studio to luxury penthouses. We have experienced both and honestly it is incredible that even as a studio "guest" what lengths they will go to and the little "touches" they have in the rooms to make you comfortable. The studio is very roomy and the kitchenette enabled simple meals to be put together and cooking and cleaning aids were provided , wifi was excellent rooms immaculately clean and quiet. The management and staff are to be congratulated and we are sure to return.
I organized a mums' trip away for 6 of us a few months ago. We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment and were blown away with the space, amenities and decor. We had a fantastic time. We even stayed in on afternoon while it was snowing and drank wine in front of the fire while watching everything through the windows. The beds were comfortable, water pressure good, kitchen facilities had everything you could need. We will be back for another getaway for sure!
We stayed here as a group of 6 sharing an apartment for a family trip. Reception staff were very helpful and left milk in the fridge for our arrival. The apartments were easy to find with parking available and only a short stroll into town - a tougher hill on the way home to where we were staying! The apartment was very clean, had great amenities available and outstanding views over the lake. We found ourselves having a very relaxing day with great shared space in open plan living for relaxing in the afternoon.
