Attentive staff. Family owned hotel. Good restaurant on premises. Clever use of antiquities discovered in excavation during ore construction of hotel on display makes for very interesting art throughout the hotel. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Attention to detail in the bathroom and its amenities. Mattress, pillows and linens all combined to make for a good nights sleep.
We paid extra for the river view room and saw very little of the river because over four days, a different cruise ship obscured our view of the river. The last day a Celebrity ship totally blocked our view. The management refunded the difference in our room and a room without a view, but this part of our stay was disappointing. However, this is a beautiful hotel, with great service and a friendly staff. The concierge was especially helpful, assisting us with renting bikes and making dinner reservations. The location is excellent, just minutes from the lower town and the funicular to the high town. The room was very spacious with heated floors in the bathroom.
The hotel is located in a perfect place, one can walk thru thru the lower historical part of the city, walk along the river, every place one would like to wander is convenient. The staff was excellent. The room was large and well appointed...... truly a great hotel.
Located in the the old city this lovely 4 star hotel was perfect! Rooms were spacious, bathroom floors heated, lighting was soft and staff very warm, friendly. Perfect location to the magic fairyland of Old Quebec with white lights everywhere and all framed with a good foot of packed snow on the streets. We also enjoyed the romantic atmosphere of their famous Panache restaurant now call Chez Muffey. It was one the most enjoyable weekend getaways I can remember and I highly recommend reserving a room here for the Ice Carnavale in 2018
We arrived at this hotel and were greeted by friendly bellmen. The hotel feels very calming and quiet when you walk in but we had arrived on a very busy day as the tall ships had arrived in Quebec. Our rooms faced the water so we had a beautiful view of these amazing ships. The rooms were huge with lovely French doors. The bathroom was fabulous too with a wet room and bath combined and under floor heating. We had breakfast in the lobby bar which was very pleasant. Would certainly recommend this hotel.
Our travel agent booked the Auberge Saint-Antoine for us when we traveled across Canada by rail. When i saw the itinerary I was disappointed that we would not be staying at the famous Château Frontenac. That all changed when I saw the Auberge Saint-Antoine The nicest boutique hotel I have ever stayed in. It is located in the best part of Quebec, right in the heart of the old city. The inside is modern and open, and in one word, "Beautiful"!
A superb hotel in every way except one. The staff and facilities are excellent, as one would expect from a Relais et Chäteaux property. Muffy's is an outstanding restaurant. The one exception to the "excellent" rating would be the redecorated Bar Artefact. Gone are the comfy sofas. The new couches are hard, and guests are confronted by two large TV screens behind the bar, which also seems too big for the room. Who goes to Artefact to watch TV with the sound off? What a shame the decorator ruined what had been a lovely, relaxing area.
My wife and I were looking for the perfect hotel to finish our vacation on the East Coast and we hit the jackpot with this one. The website showed that they were booked on the dates we wanted, but the rooms looked so cool, my wife called the hotel anyway. The did have a suite available, and although it was more than we wanted to spend, we went ahead and made the non-refundable reservation. Plans changed just before we left on the trip and the changes made us cut our trip short, arriving a day later than we'd planned. The hotel said they would try to rent our room for the day we wouldn't be there but there were no promises. On arrival, they said that we were upgraded to a larger suite and we couldn't have been happier! The room had a fireplace, king size bed, living room, 2 bathrooms, a clawfoot tub and a shower. They also had a bottle of wine chilled in the room for our arrival. The hotel is in the lower town which I really recommend for a more leisurely paced experience that seemed like a small french village that nonetheless had plenty of restaurants, shops and sites to experience before going up the hill to the more crowded upper town, all in all, it was the perfect hotel for our first trip to Quebec City. We will be back!
The other reviews are right! We chose Auberge Saint-Antoine based on TripAdvisor reviews, and we weren't disappointed. A lovely hotel with nice rooms, underground valet parking, welcoming, helpful staff and a terrific location. We were there for 3 days and did not use our car. We walked everywhere. The breakfast buffet was good, but not great. The selection is fairly limited. We will absolutely stay there again!
Wonderful location. Staff very helpful. Rooms were nicely appointed. Very unique with artifacts throughout. Bar area very pleasant. Restaurant very nice but pricey. Negative is you have to pay for parking.
