Hotel room was very nice and clean, however parking was terrible and it was impossible to get anyone to talk to with questions. We were told no one would be present upon check in but we could not get in touch with anyone to ask about parking. I messaged the hotel before we left through hotels.com, called the number several times and let several messages with no response. Also the tv would not turn on.

The best thing about this property was the location! It was ideal for us going to Carnaval! And all the restaurants in the area were fabulous: L’omelette and La Buche were our favourites.

Absolutely no help.

Here we are day 2 of our 3 day trip still haven't seen any hotel staff. We were lucky that another guest was entering the building or we would be sleeping on the street the 1st night. No one will answer their service phone. We are currently locked out of our room with no way to get our stuff. Still no one will answer the phone to get us a key that works or to get our luggage so we can stay somewhere else.

Cozy hotel in Old Québec

Decent priced hotel in the heart of old Québec. Comfortable bed and private bathroom all extremely clean. Heating in cold winter days was very adequate. I recommend for the people who prefer doing check in and check out via internet, since the clerk isn’t always at the front desk because of reduced hours. If you want a parking space, make sure to call ahead since there isn’t much place around the hotel.

This is very European in style. Room is in a perfect location without the tourist generated noise. But it is old European style so if you are looking for modern and large space this is not for you.

The location is great. 5 minute walk to the Fairmont hotel and it is directly in the old part of Quebec City. Parking is not included and not close. We had to walk sometimes 15 minutes to a lot, which was expensive. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Please note that you might book the Hotel Ermitage, but our room was in a different hotel labeled "Hotel Acadia" across the street and down the road, which I felt was odd. We had booked a "junior suite" since it had been advertised as having a "separate bedroom". This was false advertising; the suite is one large room with a bed and sofa (with pull-out bed) in it, with a bathroom. It does not have a separate bedroom (as of December 2024). The management was able to re-book us in a proper suite on the second night, which I appreciated. The room and suite were comfortable but missing a couple of basics. They both had microwaves, refrigerators, counter tops, but no plates, knives, forks, etc, so we could not eat the food we had bought. I recommend addition of these kitchen basics.

Worst place I have ever stayed. To start, no parking available anywhere close - I had to park a pit a 10-12 minute walk from the hotel. Then, we did not have sufficient towels. It was very warm in the room and no temperature control in the room (central heating). However the wax air conditioning that we could have used but the were no batteries in the remote and no controls on the air conditioning unit!!! Finally, to top it off, the TV was not working properly, we kept losing the cable signal. The worst experience of my life in terms of a hotel. Do not go there!

Frustrated and disappointed stay

I had a disappointing experience during my stay at L’Emeritage. Upon arrival, until our departure , there was no staff at the reception, and repeated attempts to reach someone through the provided telephone number went unanswered. Parking was another issue—despite being advertised, there was no clear information about parking availability, and no one was available to clarify where to park. They don’t have a designated parking. Additionally, my mother and I had booked two separate rooms for our stay, yet we were assigned rooms in different buildings located far apart. This arrangement was highly inconvenient and did not meet our expectations for a coordinated stay. It also appeared that our room used to be the main area of the house, as the primary heater was located there. In December, the room became unbearably hot at night. We attempted to use the air conditioner to cool it down, but it was not working. The windows were full glass and lacked blackout curtains. As a result, we were not only woken up by the early morning sunlight but also disturbed by the bright streetlights throughout the night. We stayed for two nights and never saw a receptionist or any staff member to discuss these issues. Despite calling the provided phone number multiple times and leaving messages, no one responded or returned our calls. Overall, the lack of service, poor communication, lack of parking and disorganized room assignments made for a frustrating and disappointing stay.

We had a Superior Room. The room was much larger than I expected. A little outdated, but it was a pleasant room. Downside is that it got pretty cold in the room and we couldn't figure out how to make it warmer. It was tolerable though. The entry door is quirky. I finally learned that after putting in the code, you had to do a little lift to the door to get it open. It is not intuitive, and at times took five tries to open. There also is no parking and the lot they suggested to us was full since it was Christmas season. I drove for about 20 minutes and found a lot at Place D'Youville that was a 10 minute walk. It was awkward unloading (and loading) at the alley behind the hotel but doable. Overall I paid $30CAD to park for 2 nights. The best part of the hotel, and what makes it completely worth it, is the proximity to EVERYTHING! It was easy to walk to all the attractions, the Christmas Market, and dinner (make reservations for dining!) Overall, a positive experience for the four of us (two parents, adult child, teen daughter).

The worst mantras I've ever seen in hotels. The shover worked fine for a couple of minutes only. After that, I was only able to make the water either ice cold or extremely hot.

Do not recommend

Heat wasnt working.I had to blead air out of the radiator myself. Mini fridge wasn't plugged in when r arrived. Walls were paper thin. We had very loud and drunk neighbors and no reception person to call. Only got one key for the room. The keypad to enter barely works. Water in the shower changed temperature wildly.
