The location is convenient, but the rooms are a little dated and need updating. Only the units in the front have windows facing the sunlight.
Excellent location close to places such as the best restaurants in the Zona Romántica. There is a nightclub across the street but ear plugs take care of that-it’s open late on weekends. Kitchen had all the basic necessities. Blender included.
There is no sign or appearance that you are at a "Hotel" or "Apartment Complex" - It looks like a Factory/Storage Facility with a plain brown Steel door that you can not look past. I finally asked the Los Muertos Pub/Sports Bar on the corner what the deal was and a guy tld me that I had to walk 5+ blocks to the Hotel Encino who were in charge of the "Golden Iguana". This required going over two Wooden Cable Suspension Foot Bridges which was difficult with my Check-In, Carry On and Computer Bags. The Hotel then made me leave a deposit for the "Room Key". They sent a young man to show me how to get into the "Hotel" - back over the two Swinging Wooden Foot Bridges. When I checked out I returned the Room Ket to a Maid named Lupita who was very nice my entire stay. However, when I got home I discovered that they had in fact processed the "Key Deposit" to my Credit Card. The room had a sliding terrace-door that had a broken lock on one side. In the process of trying to resolve this Safety issue the Encino Hotel lady employee got very unpleasant because she wanted me to agree to another room without me being able to see it. She finally told me to complain/work it out with "Orbitz" and hung up on me. I eventually fixed the lock myself. The actual "Iguana" employees were very nice. The Iguana sits on top of Restaurants and the Kitchen's exhaust tower is right next t the Terrace. It also sits on top of a "Men Only" Bar/Club called the Wet Dream and directly across the street from anot
