AC Hotel Ciudad de Sevilla by Marriott

I found this hotel to be wonderful. My experience here was terrific. The only glitch in our stay was the coffee maker in the breakfast area tended to confuse people who didn't know how to use it and would get pods jammed in the machine and then walk away and leave it for someone else to fix. I don't think this is the fault of the hotel - guests should at least TRY not to jam up the coffee maker for other guests. The rooftop pool is amazing!!

Very efficient and friendly hotel in the suburbs Excellent concierge service Difficult to park because of lack of signage Good value for money Would use it again in the future More AC than Marriott Too many stairs for ease of carrying luggage

I stayed in this hotel for three nights and really enjoyed it- From the outside the building is just gorgeous and from the inside.... I do travel a lot and for the first time in a long while I was in a room with a completely silent AC!!!- My room was quiet, spacious and with all amenities, including mini bar, hair dresser, etc. Beds were OK and pillows comfy. Wifi was perfect and fast. Breakfast was perfect for me (there were a variety of pastries, bread, fruits and charcuterie and of course espresso type of coffee, which is my first priority). Staff was nice and attentive. Will definitely go back!

I can only speak for my own experience, but the most recent reviews couldn't have been more different than mine. My stay was amazing and I'd totally recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Sevilla. From check in, Pedro at the front desk was so nice and helpful. In fact, I want to specifically commend him for ALL his help throughout my stay. He went above and beyond to help me get a tour, make recommendations, and even let me stay in my room really late due to a late departing flight. Thank you, Pedro! Ok, back to the hotel. I found this hotel charming from the outside to inside. Looks like it's partially in a historic building. In a quiet, more residential neighborhood about 15-20 minutes walk to the center. The interior is updated and stylish from the entry, to restaurant to rooms (or at least mine was). Room was lovely, quiet, great A/C. Bathroom even had Jacuzzi tub (I used and it was fantastic after a hot day's walk). Great food in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast buffet. Staff all friendly (maybe it helped that I spoke Spanish?). Great wifi. My room overlooked the rooftop pool, which I never used but it looked inviting. Also didn't use the fitness center but it looked updated.

No idea how this hotel is a 4.1 star on the Marriott website. I'm a Marriott platinum member and pretty much live in hotels throughout the year and this one takes the cake for me for worst hotel of 2017. First off: Terrible desk staff that doesn't know properly how to treat an elite guest. When asked what's there to do in Seville, the guy just gives me a map and says here you go. Then when asked about parking he says go to the garage and see if there's space and come back and let me know and then you can go and try and figure out how to park your car yourself. Room: Absolutely terrible, small and cramped, dirty (we actually had dried blood on the shower wall) and definitely not up to Marriott standards. The icing on the cake: We got in our room, and heard construction right on the other side of our wall, I went down to the front desk and asked the desk guy if this would be going on early tomorrow morning as we are on vacation and wanted to sleep in. He said definitely not and if it was it'd be after 10:00AM. I asked him "are you sure, because if it is then I'd like to move rooms now" and he said no we would be ok. Low and behold at 8:00AM the next morning there was drilling, hammering and sawing going on directly on the other side of my pillow. I go furious down to the front desk and talk to the so-called desk manager who says "oh sorry the guy helping you yesterday has no idea and we have to do construction, but let me comp your parking and a bottle of water for the inconvenience". Are you serious?! Stay far away from this hotel it's absolutely terrible!

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night passing through Seville on the way to Barcelona. Check-in was fast, and the room was clean and comfortable. The WIFI worked well, as did the AC (it was 35 C in the city). The hotel is about a 30 min walk from the main tourist areas, although it is pretty close to the Plaza de Espana (a must see in Seville). We've stayed before in Seville in the downtown area (across the river from the Cathedral), and we think that is a better location for tourists. Those hotels were cheaper and just as nice as the AC Cuidad. The 17 Euro breakfast is also not worth the money.

I think it is a real shame that AC hotels represent the Marriott brand. This hotel like other AC hotels was also disappointing. Half an hour walk from the city centre and there is absolutely nothing to do around the hotel. Staff represent service of a 2 star motel. There are no English channels on tv except for BBC. On the day of check out my wifi and air conditioning stopped working in the morning and didn't get fixed for almost 4 hours. I was extremely frustrated. When I called the reception I was asked why I failed to report the problem earlier. Hmmm not my ****** problem. I am paying you guys money, give me at least the basic service I deserve. You can only imagine in 43 degree heat how boiling hot my room got in no time. Taxi ride will cost you 8-10 euros and there is no uber in South keen Spain. Please please reconsider your stay at this hotel if you are used to the Marriott brand.

We stayed at the AC Hotel Ciudad de Sevilla during the first leg of our trip. Overall, the hotel is clean and serves its purpose, but there were some issues that stood out. Here's the pros and cons of our experience: Pros: Good value, decent location (though the tourist areas are a bit of a walk), renovated rooms, very clean, generally friendly and helpful staff. Cons: - Construction and loud music woke us up several times. Thin walls. - Hard to find the parking (it's on the side of the hotel, and there's a bell you have to ring. We circled many times when we got there, and couldn't find it). - Extremely small elevators that were kind of scary to use. We didn't have a choice, as we had a baby in a stroller, but evey ride was a challenge... - Our safe was broken, staff wasn't very helpful in troubleshooting. - The free WiFi did not work on any of my devices, and was seriously slow on my husaband's iPad. It was like they did it on purpose so you'd upgrade to the fast speed WiFi. This should be a basic amenity. In general, we found that everything was more complicated than we'd like. When checking in, the lady at the desk seemed to be confused and having a hard time finding us a room. When she finally did, we went up to our floor, and were met by a very friendly member of the housekeeping staff. She keyed us into the room we were assigned, but it was already occupied (as we found out when she woke the occupant from a nap). We had to wait while she called down to the desk, and entered a few more occupied rooms (I wasn't happy about this - seemed not too secure) until we eventually were assigned an unoccupied room. Generally, we wouldn't have minded this, but we were traveling and exhausted, and just wanted to rest. Overall, our experience here was just okay - we bumped into several issues and wasn't the experience that we would have liked, but it served its purpose.

We loved this hotel. Nice rooms, very nice staff. Close to a bus stop and near the Parque de Maria Luisa. The hotel was clean and we enjoyed the food. The only thing is that we had to ask them a couple of times to turn the air conditioner on at the restaurant. We were there during the summer.

What a great experience at this lovely hotel! Friendly staff, a fantastic breakfast and a beautiful pool. The staff was particularly helpful with giving advice for great restaurants in the area. Can hardly wait to return and am still dreaming about the superb breakfast bar.
