Two stellar receptionist staff members, John and Sveltlana were exceptionally gracious, patient and accommodating. They definitely made our stay at the Mandarin Oriental so much more enjoyable. They listened intently, took mental notes and serviced us without speaking in a condenscending manner. John and Sveltlana were both professional in every sense of the word. On the downside, two $100 supplemental charges were posted to my account, twice, without my knowledge. I did not appreciate a hotel staff member arbitrarily initiating these additional charges without my consent. Fortunately I was able to have them removed. Please have someone look into who authorized the two, $100 supplemental charges. Concerning our attempt to be upgraded to a more spacious room, a daytime manager had indicated a larger room would be available on Tuesday. When we were notified the larger room was available and we went to preview it, I was so disappointed at the so-called upgrade. The upgrade on the seventh floor had poor lighting and appeared smaller in size due to the wall that dividied the livingroom from the bedroom. I turned it down because it apeared dismismal compared to room 947. Lastly, the restaurant staff, bellmen and housekeepers were extremely helpful during our stay. We are already looking forward to our next hotel stay at the Mandarin.

The room was spacious and staff was courteous. All of the food ordered through room service was delicious.

Fantastic stay. I cannot say enough about the level of service, friendliness of the staff, helpfulness and professionalism. I would rate it on par with the Four Seasons in this respect. The room was excellent. Amenities superb. Dining delicious. Location is fantastic with regards to the National Mall but a bit far to walk to restaurants and nightlife but I was aware of that prior to booking. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the hotel and I will definitely stay again.

The room was just how the website showed we had a water view. Food was ok our breakfast on last day was cold but they refunded us for that. The staff was very accommodating when issues had arise. They could do better with tv channels. Overall nice hotel and you don’t have to leave because everything is there.

On a quick business trip I found this to be an excellent location in walking distance of many of the places along the mall I needed to visit. Overall a very positive experience. Great staff, up to date modern facility.

The staff was extremely accomodating, rooms were plush, and service was amazing!

Hotel was great. It Is close to the museums and walking distance from the monuments. Loved the room.. the tub could have been cleaner. The restaurant is okay, not a lot of selection.. Didn't love it.. Go out to eat. But their tea selection, amazing. Drinks are good too. Hotel staff is great!

The best in every single way. Would not stay anywhere else in DC. We loved it here!
