I have stayed here previously, and experienced another above average stay this time. Comfortable, spacious room with micro and fridge. Friendly and helpful staff. Close to shopping, food, gas, etc. I'll definitely stay here again.
Traveling through on way home from TN. Raining and getting foggy so we decided to stop for the night. Looked on line and found the Days Inn. This hotel was accommodating, friendly staff, clean and had everything we needed for the night. Cable tv, great clean comfortable bed. Plenty of towels. Great shower, hot water and plenty of shampoo and soap. Breakfast was included - hot waffles, omlets, hard boiled eggs, cereal, muffins, toast, biscuits and sausage gravy. Would definitely recommend or stay again if in the area.
This is a very nice motel to stay at. This was our 2nd trip staying at this same motel. Everyone is always very nice and the rates are reasonable. We would recommend this motel if you are in the Paintsville area.
I stay at this hotel well over 100 nights a year. It is an older property but the owner is continually updating and upgrading. At this time they are working on the furniture. Because it is an older property it is solid-you do not hear your neighbors on any side or above you. The staff seeks to please.
It was a nice stay ,was there for work will stay again not a 4 star hotel but for the price it was good
I enjoyed the stay. The building could use some upkeep but other than it was an enjoyable stay.
This is one of the 3 motels in Paintsville, the most appealing, reasonably priced motel in this little town close to Butcher Holler. We stayed here because we were going to Loretta Lynn's home place the next morning. The room was fairly quiet and had excellent continental breakfast, including eggs, oatmeal, sausage gravy, biscuits, bagels, toast, waffles, fruit, etc.
This hotel has gone downhill over the years. There are 2 buildings. The back building is in sad shape. Our sink had trouble draining. Our last stay there was Labor Day weekend 2017. It does have a wonderful breakfast. Sharla does and excellent job taking care of the guests.
The hotel was good, and room very satisfactory. However, there are very few options for dining--I would suggest that staff develop a more comprehensive list. The best recommendation that I could get was to a coffee shop where there was no wine list, service was spotty and food was not good. Later discovered that there is a Ramada with a full dining room and bar service. I would have appreciated a referral there.
We only stayed one night this time, but that was enough. We have stayed here in the past because of convenience and the breakfast. We are usually in the front building, but this time we were in the back building. While the fan in the bathroom (it must come on when the light does) was very noisy, we had to use it way more than originally anticipated. The sink became stopped up, completely. We had to wash our hands in the bathtub. When we called the front desk, we were told there was probably nothing to do until we checked out. The manager did come and try to plunge it then said he would have to wait until we check out to snake it. He did offer to move us upstairs, but it was late and only one night so we chose to wash our hand in the tub. The last time we were at this hotel, I had an incident on the concrete stairs that led from the pool back to our room. They are very slippery when wet so I was holding both hand rails. My leg flew out from under me and I injured my other foot. I requested for him to install skid strips on those stairs. He said he would look into it. During this visit, we went to check those stairs. There are no skid strips. I asked the desk and was told that he painted the steps in a rough way hoping that would work instead of skid strips. Anytime we stay in the front building, our experience seems to be more pleasant. It is evident that he keeps up with it more than the back building. The back building is separated from the front building by an alleyway. When we were packing to leave, the manager had to report an attempted theft a couple doors away from us in the same building (back building). I found out that they had left the door open to show other staff members that they were cleaning it and a man walked in, wrapped the tv in a blanket, and walked out. The manager caught him and discovered he was a tenant from a hotel across the street. (That hotel, I found out, has a bad reputation because people like that man stay there.) I must say that there is a very nice lady at the desk named Sharla. She is always ready to help in any way. She takes wonderful care of the facility when she is there and is quick to respond to anything we need.
