Room is new and clean with kitchen. If you are a light sleeper ask for a building away from the main road else turn the ac wide open to drown out the road noise. Will stay here again when in town on business.
My family and I have moved to Oregon from Texas and the entire staff from the previous G.M. Joe, current G.M. Terah, Michael Hinckley, Maria (front desk), Jan (night auditor), Taylor, Mariana, Leticia (breakfast attendant), Karen, Celia, and Delia made us a part of their family. The front desk staff were truly the first friends I made in Oregon and I'll be stopping by for coffee and a chat even when I'm not a guest! Love these guys!!!!!!
Great location, close to Orenco station and close to the major roads so easy to go anywhere. Not in commercial district as much as a neighborhood. We travel with a dog, so especially love the ground floor feature for easy in-and-out, and the park a couple blocks away. Very nice friendly staff. Small kitchenette with fridge esp useful for us. Will stay there again!
I chose to stay at this property during move-in weekend for Pacific University in Forest Grove. The drive of about 15 miles was nothing to me to have a quiet, restful place to lay my head after a long drive and move-in. The property is easy to miss as it blends seamlessly into the Orenco Station area of Hillsboro. Close to upscale eateries as well as fast food, it's a 'neighborhood' more than a hotel. I arrived around 5PM and was warmly greeted by the front desk staff. My room on the second floor of building #7 was very clean and well appointed. A kitchen (directly to my left when opening the door) with all the pots, pans, utensils, a full-size fridge, coffee maker, two-burner stove and microwave was wonderful to have in my room. The sitting area with a 32" LCD TV was adjacent to a huge desk with lots of good lighting and USB ports for charging my phone and iPad. The room I chose had a single queen bed. It was very comfortable, and extra bedding was in the mirror-front closet nearby. The bathroom had a small, but lovely shower with a rainshower head. The water pressure was very good and the toiletry items provided had a great scent. A hairdryer and plenty of towels were also available. The only thing I found wrong was either a stain or a burn mark on the carpet near the bed. I told the front desk about it immediately so that I wouldn't be charged for damages. But overall, it was clean, comfortable and quiet. The full buffett breakfast was OK. Not the best I've ever had (that honor goes to Embassy Suites), but it certainly had a lot of choices and provided me with a good start to the day. Hot eggs, Canadian bacon, muffins, oatmeal and other things were included. The outdoor pool was small, but well placed on the property and encircled by a fence. Nearby is an outdoor area with a BBQ for guests to use. Overall, I was very pleased with my stay and would not hesitate to stay there again. I slept well and felt safe. The staff I met were all friendly and helpful. I really couldn't ask for more.
We made our reservation in June for August as Platinum Marriott members and we were very disappointed upon arrival not to get the king suite we were guaranteed based on our status but instead got a queen suite and so sorry but that was the best that could be done. We were given some points back but the promise that we could move the next day was not true - we instead were told maybe for our 3rd night but no for sure. Did not feel like a valued guest. The staff then changed our reservation for us so it would appear we got what we reserved and when I asked about how this was being done for coverup I got another runaround. We usually like Towne Place and stay in one on our Florida trips but this one had rooms half the size, twice the points, refrigerator that open the wrong way, ice maker that barely worked. This closet was so small and there was no place to eat except the desk. Not one I would ever visit again.
Not my favorite Townplace Suites. Not a single building, several buildings spread out like condos. No elevators for 2nd story. Quite a trek to the main building where laundry is. Rooms are small and crowded. NO place for luggage. I used desk, but each time I needed the desk I had to put my luggage on bed, then transfer each night. When they designed these rooms I’ve no clue where they intended luggage to go. There isn’t even floor space? Would be nice if they included at least one folding luggage cart. Maybe Marriott can’t afford those? Other funny things about the room. Like here at a place where people stay for weeks/months, the trash cans are the smallest I’ve ever seen. And I’ve found no place on the premises where you’d empty your trash cans. Refrigerator doors opening the wrong way?? Pretty good wifi, as Hotels go.
I was in and out of this hotel for three nights during a business week. The temperatures in Hillsboro were unseasonably hot but regardless of what you selected on your thermostat, you could only cool the room to 76 degrees. The manager was of no use. I paid for the room and feel it is a matter of my freedom to have control over the thermostat I paid for. This treatment is lunacy. I went to the Embassy Suites for the remainder of my stay where I could be as cool as I choose. Nutty policy!
We were stuck here for a week when a pipe burst in our apartment. The staff was meh, the rooms were very outdated and small. We ended up calling our insurance and asking to stay somewhere else because we couldn't stand to be there for the remainder of our stay. Luckily we got placed at a much better hotel after this one and enjoyed our last bit of time away from home.
Booked thru Marriott website one night for 1 king bed suite. front desk did not tell me there was no king size room available. Once we went in room and noticed that the bed size was queen size only. We went back to front desk to check if they provided the wrong room and was advised that our booked room was over-stayed. The reception clerk promised to discount our room rate as compensation when manager on duty next day. However, i did not see discount on bill when we checked out. Reception de clerk told me that manager was not on duty and she could not make any decision of discount. Fortunately we only planned to stay there for one night. No a pleasant stay and not satisfy with service level.
Always have had good luck with the Marriott hotels. Have stayed at this particular Towne Place Suite many times, very nice place to stay good area and great food store a few blocks away. This time we were disappointed. There was a ring in the toilet which looks like it could have been scrubbed away. All night the toilet ran for a few minutes - first time scared the ---- out of us, loud noise. Bag of dog poop at the bottom of the steps going outside and an empty beer bottle dumped in the bushes. I would have thought housekeeping or the grounds crew would have seen it as it was there more than one day. I guess you can't pick and choose your guests. Breakfast is always nice, but seems to have run out of foods, especially for the Asian group. Always a nice staff. Smoke alarm kept going off, but after a call to the front desk, someone was there to fix it in a few minutes. I don't know, maybe just seemed a little worn to me.
