Much better and newer property then Larkspur landing next door, clean good facilities but service needs to improve a lot. Facility itself: -Very clean hotel -Even basic rooms are spacious and functional, designed for business traveler. Within walking distance to Genentech and Intel facilities. -There is a laundry, small pool and tiny exercise room -No jacuzzi, no sauna, no formal restaurant per say (there is a bar for drinks and some food items like hummus, veggies, prawns with grapes, chips, etc) - showers can benefit from increasing water pressure - good window coverings for those of us sensitive to light. - breakfast and light evening meal is included. Service: - front desk is disorganized and can’t answer basic questions!!! - management has facility understaffed. The bartender also need to drive the shuttle for example. (She was lovely, extremely customer focused so I want to make sure it’s not perceived to be a criticism of her. It’s clearly the management who should have been better prepared for a busy week and arrange for appropriate staffing)
The other night, I was traveling on business and stayed at the Residence Inn in Hillsboro, OR. And it was fantastic. The lobby is warm and welcoming. The lobby has a sweet dining area and full bar. Next to the front desk, the hotel offers snacks, hot food, drinks, beer, wine, etc. This really came in handy. The room itself looks more like an apartment than a hotel room. You walk in to a full kitchen. As someone who spends a lot of time traveling for work, being able to buy groceries and make yourself a "home" cooked meal is a real plus. The room also has a living room next to the bedroom with a big, thin television that swivels between the two. Finally, there is a huge, clean bathroom with as big a shower as you will see anywhere. The extras at the Residence Inn include a great workout gym and an indoor pool. The area is very quite and safe. The Residence Inn in Hillsboro, OR. is a great place to stay in one of my favorite places in all the country.
We loved the location, not too far from the coast and close to Portland. Very quiet and close to the very cute, historical downtown of Hillsboro. Our room was perfect, a nice big suite with a comfortable king bed, plenty of pillows, and spotlessly clean. We had a great shower, fast wifi, and very quiet for sleeping. Check in was fast and staff was very friendly and helpful, giving us directions to the night market downtown which just happened to be on the night we stayed, and was a nice surprise. Breakfast was great, lots of choices both hot and cold with plenty of seating.
I live in hotels 50 weeks a year and choose where I wish to stay. This hotel is convenient to work and there are nice parks nearby. However, this Residence Inn does not meet the minimum standards I expect from a Marriott property. 1. Morning meal starts too late for me to partake 6 days a week. 2. Evening meal starts at 6 PM & the food is gone by 6:05 PM with a 1/2 hour wait for more. 3. The front desk staff helps the kitchen staff & no one wears serving gloves, handling raw foods with their bare hands. 4. Patrons are just as bad, reaching into serving bowls with their bare hands. 5. Housekeeping sprays something in the room that causes me to sneeze upon returning. 6. Patrons have to pay for the Wednesday evening "complimentary" meal (the only hotel I have EVER had to pay). 7. Housekeeping took 2 weeks to install a shower curtain ling enough to keep the water in the tub. It seems to me that the owners are more concerned about profits than their guests, especially considering the cost of staying here. I cannot recommend this hotel to long-term guests & will direct my company to book into other hotels.
Fairly new property, spanking clean. Good hot breakfast and clean pool area. We chose this hotel over the "Cascade station Marriott" because of proximity to coast (this helped us cut down the travel time next day - ability to start early late and still avoid traffic does wonders when travelling with fussy kids). I loved the standing shower bathroom which in my opinion is better than tub. I however learned that this property doesn't have 2 queen bed configuration. The beds are wonderful but the sofa beds are not that great for a good sleep for adults (my 9 year old however loved the experience).
We were on our way to the coast the next day and wanted to be as close as possible for an early start. After touring around Portland and area all day it was nice to be able to relax here. We enjoyed the room, the only negative was a lingering food smell in the room when we arrived. We opened the windows to air it out, but it was in the curtains and linens. Not bad enough to change rooms as we arrived quite late, but still unpleasant.
Great new facility. Seems like new. Would recommend to anyone that wants a quiet hotel. The suite I have is very spacious. Easy parking out the front of the hotel. It is a little far away from grocery stores etc so best bring a car!
We had to move out of our home to repair our hardwood floors, and the insurance company recommended an extended stay hotel. We booked this hotel due to their liberal pet policy; we have two dogs (one young, one old) and an older cat. Unfortunately, the hotel didn't work out for us. They put us in a room as far away from the elevator as you can get, thus far away from the dog rest area (grass) downstairs. Our 12-year old lab mix has a hard time walking, and he struggled with that long of a walk to get relief. I asked for a different room, but this hotel is very busy and didn't have anything else open. The front desk staff was very nice about it. We had a challenge with getting housekeeping because the cat and dog were uncrated during the day. Our 12-year old lab, who can barely get on his feet without assistance, was "guarding the door" and "scaring" the housekeeping staff, even though he is so doped up on his pain meds that he sleeps most of the time and doesn't really move from whatever spot he's in. I made an arrangement with the GM to schedule housekeeping during a time when I could get the pets out of the room. I canceled meetings at work to accommodate this. The housekeeper was late, the pets were stressed out, and I was late for work. This was when we made the decision to leave and go elsewhere. The breakfast was late every morning we were there. It was almost funny to see a dozen people waiting around at 6:30 for breakfast, only to have the doors open at 6:45, and the staff is still getting food out, and they are telling the guests to "back off" when they went in to get food. The room itself was OK: the bed was very comfortable, but the kitchen was not stocked well for anyone to do any real cooking. We were in an ADA accessible room, so not sure if that impacted things.
We stayed on a Saturday night....the room was very comfortable however the included breakfast was lacking. The eggs were watered down and sausage was barely warm. Curious as to why their bar is only open on weekdays.
I went to a concert in Portland and stayed at the Residence Inn in Hillsboro at Brookwood. Everything was phenomenal! I get there early - like 3 hours before check in early - no problem, some rooms were ready and I got my room right away. The hotel representative was so funny and sweet that even though I was dressed very comfortably, I was treated with respect - that doesn’t always happen. I was informed of the complimentary breakfast time and location along with when the grill was open in the evening. The room is very modern but comfortable and very clean. The bed was perfect - not too hard, not too soft, the WiFi worked very well, loved the option of Netflix - I’ve never seen that before but since normal hotel cable usually leaves something to be desired, Netflix was a wonderful surprise! Bathroom was large and a HUGE shower. I would highly recommend staying at this Residence Inn, I know when I return to Hillsboro to visit, I will definitely be staying there!!
