We.had a harbour view room with a small balcony.Did not feel like a hotel. There is no hotel staff on reception between 20,00 and 08.00.No cooked breakfast offered, which is odd as it is really a big restaurant with rooms. It was o.k.for two nights but would not stay longer. Well situated with adequate parking.
Although advertised as a hotel it’s clear accommodation plays second fiddle to the restaurant here. Bedrooms are above the restaurant or across the street in a separate building above a row of shops. There isn’t a lobby as such, and the bar is very small with the tables given over to dining rather than being somewhere guests can relax with a drink. The restaurant doesn’t open for breakfast, although the waitress explained that coffee and pastries would be available at the bar in the morning. Rooms are clean and comfortable, although mine suffered from a broken radiator as well as peeling wallpaper, multi coloured ceiling that’s clearly been repaired and a badly bleach stained carpet. I’d have preferred frosted glass in the bathroom. Somewhat underwhelming.
No one to let us in when we arrived. The room is very tired. Asked for Champagne upon arrival. It was in a bucket of warm water. The carpet has the most stains I have ever seen in a carpet. Upside the bed was very comfortable and cleaning staff is outstanding. The food was fabulous unfortunately service was bad. Nice location.
We had the “on the fly” lunch special yesterday. It is a lobster roll, chips and cole slaw with a cup of coffee. We thought it was quite good. I particularly liked that the dressing on the lobster was unique. It wasn’t the traditional mayo base. It was light and lemony. Very unusual and very tasty. I’ve eaten a lot of lobster rolls in Maine for over a decade and this was the best. The cole slaw was light and flavorful. I don’t usually eat all of my slaw but I made it a point to do so The restaurant decor is nice, modern. Wonderful views of the small harbor. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food came out promptly on a busy day. We will return next year.
A Beautiful Hotel in a Wonderful location of Kennebunkport!! We were blessed by the ocean being right off our balcony along with a joyful atmosphere that was felt truly all around!!! We are definitely looking forward to coming back!
The Boathouse is in an amazing location and we had a lovely welcome with a glass of Bubbly on arrival. The town was a wonderful place to wander around if a little expensive. On departure we were given a little care pack with a bottle of water and a Whoopie Pie (never had one before, it was delicious), which was a very nice touch. We stayed in the annex and found it a bit noisy as we could hear other guests moving about.
Very friendly staff greet you in a pleasant reception area with an adjoining bar and restaurant beyond. Our room had a balcony overlooking the river - great. Not overly large but well appointed, although no coffee maker or fridge. Coffee is available on the landing, with cookies in the afternoon. Morning coffee and tray bake in the mornings ( no breakfast ). The restaurant serves excellent food again with friendly helpful staff. When you book in you’re offered a “green” deal. Skip having your serviced, towels change etc and get $15 off dinner. Well worth doing.
Stayed in one of the suites overlooking harbor and relaxing on the balcony with the view was wonderful. Ate at the restaurant and it was the best meal of the weekend.Staff was helpful and friendly. The advantage of being located right on the harbor can also be a minor disadvantage at night with the bar crowds outside, but not enough to offset all else it has to offer and easily muted with closed windows and A/C.
My wife and I stayed in the Annex in early August. The carpeting was dirty. The hook on the back of the bathroom door was broken. I expected something a lot nicer, especially considering the price. The only redeeming quality is that the hotel is centrally located, and one can park close to the main street.
Happy hour is 3-6! Great drinks, food, views of the river and great staff! The hotel is centrally located in Kennebunkport. Very nice to have free parking available for guests of the hotel and the location make it super easy to walk to everything.
