Rooms are nice and pool looks pretty. Restaurant was only open one of the two days we were there. Snack kind of food and full bar. So called breakfast consists of muffins and coffee/tea/juice serve yourself Had to ask for more orange juice which they didn’t have and to fill the hot water pot for tea. There wasn’t anyone at the desk at 2:00 when we tried to check in. Supposedly the place is filled with kids in her summer, if you want to know. I don’t think we would stay again. Other little towns are better and cheaper rates.
Great stay with college friends from 1977 graduating class. Property was very conducive to our large party of 17. Front desk staff could not have been more pleasant or helpful. Reciprocal agreement policy with sister properties was a plus. We were able to kayak the river using boats from sister yacht club.
The Lodge on the Cove is a charming place to stay and walking (or biking!) distance to shopping and dining downtown. and The staff and Manager were absolutely wonderful and provided ample suggestions of things to do, as well as, parking permits for Kennebunk Beach. LOC is great for kids and the kids at heart with wide variety of lawn games, arcade games, board games and even s’mores by the fire. Overall, our stay was everything we could have hoped for! If you’re looking for excellent service, clean and cozy rooms, great dining at the dory and warm and attentive staff you need to consider the Lodge on the Cove!
We stayed here for 3 days and 2 nights. The staff was helpful and the manager of the hotel was very generous in offering things to do. Rooms were very nice and clean. The Dory served excellent food and the pool was heated! Lodge on the Cove also has an excellent game room for people of all ages. Pinball machines give a reminder of simpler times. S’mores by the fire at night was also a classic touch. LOC is located .5 miles from the heart of Kennebunkport. Easy walking distance or take a nice bike ride! We will definitely be staying at the Lodge on the Cove again next summer!
We stayed here for the second time in July this year.we cannot fought it. The accommodation, pool, bar and setting was beautiful. the staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was perfect for us to walk into town (our daughter used the bike). Bar food was good too. Loads for the children and adults to play together which was lovely. Real family time! The one thing that would make the holiday even better than it was is a coin laundry machine. This is a family resort and it would help a lot for people staying a few days or more.
This review is long overdue! We stayed at The Lodge on the Cove in May for Mother's Day weekend and we had an amazing stay! The staff was very friendly, especially Rachel who just went above and beyond to help us in any way possible. She was so friendly and always made sure that we had everything we needed at all times! One night we could not figure out our tv/dvd player and even though the office was closed she went out of her way to make sure it was working for us. She really is such an asset to this property and we were very lucky to have her! The other thing that stood out to me was the cleanliness of the property! We stayed with our 1 and a half year old and I was pleasantly surprised to find that the room was immaculate! It was such a relief when you are traveling with a baby who will get his hands on anything around him! The bathroom was spotless and housekeeping did a great job making sure we had anything we needed. The property is close to town, although with the baby and the fact that it was on the cooler side in May we did drive to town. The property was very well-maintained and we regret that we did not stay in the summer so we could take full advantage of all the amenities! We hope to go back when it is a little warmer!
We had a great 2 night stay. Staff was extremely friendly, accommodations were great, good drinks at the Dory and the pool was refreshing. While we didn’t have our kids with us, it is very welcoming to families. The pool, fire pit with s’mores, corn hole, ping pong table, etc. The Dory has cocktails and serves food. We walked to town day/night and had no issues. Our room had refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker and nice little front porch. Would happily stay again.
We recently stayed here, and loved every minute of our experience. This was our first stay here and from the minute we arrived, everyone was so friendly and helpful. I didn’t know anything about the Lodge prior to our arrival, so I was pleasantly surprised by all of the different amenities offered. It is in walking distance from shops, restaurants, and ice cream. They have a shuttle at night, and bicycles that you can ride anytime of the day which we thought was so cool. They offer a HUGE selection of movies to watch, offer coupons to eat at other sister properties in the area, a fire pit with s’mores at night, a game room with pin ball, pac man, ping pong, shuffle board (just to name a few). Although we didn’t use them, we loved that they offered a sound machine and ear plugs- very thoughtful. Free Kayak and paddleboard rentals which we took advantage of and was one of the highlights of our trip. The room was so clean, close to everything. Loved our cute little porch that we sat on when quick storms rolled through. The outdoor pool was so nice- saltwater and heated. Nice to have the restaurant right next to the pool if you wanted anything. I truly can’t say enough good things and we were already talking about when we can go back!! Have been telling everyone I know that they need to go stay at this hidden gem!
My two kids and I loved this little place. Clean, updated with carefully thought-out amenities. The only downside was not enough storage for clothes. Everything else was very convenient, right down to Dory, indoor entertainment areas, free s’mores, and free earplugs at bedtime. Super cute and comfortable all around!
This was our second visit to Lodge on the Cove. The resort, as a whole, is charming and family friendly with some cool amenities and a throwback vibe. But on this trip, we noticed the pool—an average size in-ground—was overrun with unsupervised pre-teens, making the pool unusable for paying guests of the resort (most of whom have small children). We were told by the front desk that the Lodge offers local pool memberships to folks in the community (a fact that is NOT advertised on their web site). This may be ok for a larger pool with a lifeguard, but not for this small shallow structure. The unruly locals absolutely took over the pool and surrounding area, making the area wholly unappealing for guests looking to relax and enjoy the resort. Sadly, we won’t be back :(
