My husband and I loved our long weekend in Kennebunkport! But the best part of our stay was our host, Bill of the Harbor Inn. We arrived in town later than expected (8pm so it was dark out) and we walked to dinner which was a little over a mile away. When we finished eating, it was raining...Bill texted us to see if we wanted him to come pick us up b/c he knew we walked! We politely declined, and enjoyed the drizzly walk back to the Inn. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by Bill and a cozy fire he had going in the fireplace. We stayed in the Beachwood Room. Our room was quaint and clean; bathroom likewise was immaculate... and my husband especially loved the little bottle of shampoo provided! Every morning we were greeted by Bill's lovely mother Ginger ready with a fresh cup of coffee (a special Harbor Inn brew as we learned) - followed by the most delicious breakfast prepared and served by Bill himself. One day scrambled eggs and bacon, with crisp sourdough toast. The next day was a French toast casserole to die for with a side of sausage and fresh fruit. We were sad to leave - by the end of the trip Bill felt like an old friend. We certainly will be back to stay on our next trip up to the Kennebunks! Thank you for making our trip extra special!
The Harbor Inn is owned and run by the very helpful and knowledgable Bill aided by his delightful mother Ginger. We stayed for 3 nights and were very well looked after and guided in our travels around the area. The rooms were pristinely clean and well appointed, even though there were no TVs upstairs (which I personally enjoyed). Downstairs there are plenty of seating areas and magazines, maps, books etc to read. Breakfast was always delicious and home cooked by Bill. The Inn is probably about 1/2 mile from the town so an easy walk to there and nearby beaches. I’d thoroughly recommend a stay here and would defiantly go back when next in the area
The Harbor Inn is located just a few minutes outside of Kennebunkport, so was ideally situated to explore both the town and surrounding areas. We chose the Harbor as we wanted a charming and characterful New England style Inn, and we were certainly not disappointed! We particularly loved the decor downstairs, the detailing was beautiful, including a lovely open fireplace. The bedroom was spacious and extremely comfortable and the breakfast tasty and plentiful, especially the homemade quiche. Bill the owner was absolutely marvelous, not only was he the perfect host, but went above and beyond what was expected, when we had an issue with the rental car. He happily allowed us the use of his mobile phone (UK versions not working for some reason) so we could organise a recovery. Thank you again.
Absolutely charming. Our room was very clean and spacious, bed was comfortable. Bill greeted us when we arrived and was extremely friendly, nice, and helpful. The breakfast was delicious as well. Restaurants and shopping were in walking distance. We'd definitely stay there again if we were in the area.
We enjoyed our lovely stay! We felt comfortable and at home! We loved sitting on the front porch and enjoyed the fireplace after our dinner. Our room was cozy and loved all the windows! The breakfasts were very delicious- home cooking at its finest—- and the hospitality wonderful. If we come back your way from California— we would stay again and will recommend to our friends!
Very comfortable 6 bedroomed house ( built 1904) situated about a 10 min walk into town. Log fire in lounge and porch on our stay early October. Breakfast (9-10am)from local farm produce. Private parking and quiet location.
Bill, his wife and his Mum put on great hospitality. They took the place over 3 years ago and have made it welcoming and relaxed. Great breakfast and wine and beer for pre dinner drinks on the porch. You can tell Bill and the team are determined to make the Inn even better.
Located just steps away from the main area in Kennebunkport (but far enough away), this gem was a real find. The welcoming front porch provided a great place to rock and watch the world go by. Our room was spacious, and the bed and linens were very comfortable. The host is most hospitable, and the breakfast with farm fresh eggs was delicious!! We'll definitely be back!
Loved the vibe but we are on a working vacation and need consistent internet access. Should have known when no “WiFi password was needed”. Terrible connection-horrible and outdoor activities past sunset-kids running around loudly at 9pm w barking dogs. We know that most folks don’t the internet on vacation but we did. Not an ideal spot for work or relaxation.
Harbor Inn is conveniently located near the quaint waterfront and retail district of Kennebunkport. Upon arrival, I first noticed a large porch which is perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine. The porch overlooks a front yard with lawn chairs and corn hole boards. Bill, the owner, will greet you with a smile and lend a helping hand to get your luggage settled. The Inn is a beautiful old home that is immaculately maintained. The rooms are clean and comfortable. As a resident of the area, Bill directed us to the best restaurants, bars and other services. For example, one of the guests in my group needed a dentist before his golf game and Bill got him to a great clinic. Another required a set of crutches after an unfortunate frisbee incident and Bill had that under control too. In summary, the Harbor Inn in Kennebunkport was the perfect destination for a low-key bachelor party and reunion of old friends. PS-make sure to ask about the Rum Punch!
