Nice old Inn. D very cozy.

I was nervous about heading here sight unseen, and the prices were very low compared to other options. Old style inn, almost historic. I like how they left it all original and embrace the "Inn" feel. Staff were professional and appear to enjoy working there. Room was old style, but very clean and well appointed. They even had mints for me. I will definitely go back when next in Portland, ME.

Such a nice place! My room was beautiful and spacious and everyone was very friendly and helpful. Thank you!

Comfortable and clean

Internet has become a crucial feature of remote/hotel living. Thus hotel is equipped with a fiber line which is great but they throttle per user speeds to unusable levels for remote work. My zoom meetings, presentation prep, even looking at SlingTV or youtube on my laptop was haunted. Several speed tests show 100 mbps upload bit only 1-3 mbps down! I called their ISP and they confirmed that their fiber business accounts can support far greater speeds. I asked the desk 3x to allow them to change this but they never responded with a solution. Sorry but until this is fixed I don’t recommend anyone stay or who has any business to do other than a couple simple emails

Nice

overall 4/5! staff was very friendly, we were always greeted with smiles when we walked through the lobby. stayed for about a week and loved the historic building. bed was not super comfortable and all the pillows were very thin (they were kind enough to supply us more on request, but unfortunately it didn't make too much of a difference!) provided breakfast in the morning was great for convenience. i appreciate that everything was wrapped individually, but as a party with severe allergens it would have been nice to have ingredients of things listed - we made do just fine though. location of the hotel was very convenient for us and the area seemed safe and walkable, though we did hear plenty of sirens from the hospital nearby. we would definitely stay here again(maybe with our own pillows :) ) thank you inn at st john staff!

Very nice Inn in Portland. Easy to get to from the airport. Staff was very nice. Nice breakfast spread each morning. Lots of stairs to get to room 5C. Could use some thicker "black out" blinds in the room.

Perfect location. We love the history behind the hotel. It was comfortable and satisfactory given the price point.

Beautiful, historic building. Very nice aesthetic. Staff was extremely friendly. Would definitely consider staying again when I go back to Portland sometime!

The Inn is great, parking not so much. They have a small lot behind the Inn but if you don’t get in early you are out of luck. I had to park across the street and around the corner in a public parking lot with no signage for the Inn parking. It’s a short walk to the corner, across the street and up the block to the Inn. Not really sure how safe the neighborhood is but it is quiet.

Beautiful inn setting

Great location, about a mile to a mile and a half from the old port. We walked there during our stay. The staff was wonderful and the inn was very clean. We would absolutely stay there again!

Just really liked the place. Has the old time look. Room was big. I booked the room that had a private bathroom with a tub.

It exceeded my expectations! Would definitely stay here again

David- Sorry to hear our wifi wasn't powerful enough for your needs. We offer complimentary business class internet with enough band width for all 39 rooms using multiple divices at once. Guests have been able to conduct business with the band width we offer without any issues, and it's unfortunate you were not. Hope your time in Portland was pleasant and we wish you all he best!
