Needed a get away and choose this Web site and booked it through Orbitz and got a 3 night package back in January. It was a good deal and could not pass it up for a April vacation.

A great place to stay on a cold winter night. We had a superb meal at the hotel's restaurant and then took off for a concert. Perfect location.

My wife and I were upgraded to a Regency Suite room, and it was incredible. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a window seat, fireplace, whirlpool tub, king-sized bed. On top of that, the walls are brick and it's located in one of the turrets of the building so the room has tons of character and a great view.

Overall sort of run down. Portions remodeled but not done well. The staff is really good and responsive.

The hotel is conveniently located near the old port and is within walking distance to a lot of shops and restaurants. We stayed in a regular king room. Overall the stay was pleasant but the bathroom could use some updating. However we would not hesitate to stay here again.

This was an extreme experience for me and my wife. It was very comfortable hotel and the staffs were amazing, very caring, and enthusiastic. Thank you.

WE had a really good time staying at this hotel. Almost everyone was so nice and helpful. We love having drinks out in the courtyard. The only reason not giving 5 stars was because we had a waitress in the courtyard that was not nice. We ordered sparkling wine and I asked if they had anything other than prosecco. Her response was how expensive do we want? We were going to go somewhere else, however a nice guy from the bar came over and offered us a different sparkling wine and we were happy with his recommendation. When we went to leave that waitress whispered something at us? The next day, we went back to the courtyard and sat down to enjoy another glass of sparkling wine and the same waitress gave us a dirty look? However, the nice guy saw us and came over and offered us the same sparkling wine he recommended. Be sides the waitress in the courtyard, everyone else at the hotel was great. I had a great time talking to the maids and getting extra chocolates for bedtime.

The positives are the location, which is excellent and the front desk and valet staff, who were friendly and helpful. The negatives are as follows. The rooms are rundown and very poorly maintained. The air-conditioning was inadequate. The bathroom was not clean. The hotel is very very overpriced for what you get. The room furniture is very low quality. The bathroom fixtures are of very low quality as well. I will not stay here again. Very overpriced.

Went to Maine for training. Pleasant surprise as the Regency was excellent all other participants at the training were complaining about their stay at a hotel closer to the training site.

This hotel was very nice. Great bar with food down stairs. The location is perfect so close to everything in Old Port.

Great accommodations and friendly helpful staff. Portland Regency hotel is in a great location within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Would like to visit again in warmer weather. We had a very pleasant stay.

A lovely wintry weekend spot! Conveniently located within steps of great dining choices, it is a wonderful Portland hotel with both comfort and convenience.

This hotel is in the perfect location! Great hotel reasonable price.

bathroom had hair all over it and room dirty linens old & smelly

Headed to Portland for a 1 night getaway and The Regency was a great choice for location. I've been to Portland many times, but never stayed here and was pleasantly surprised! Staff was very welcoming, friendly and helpful! Would recommend to anyone!

Hotel is in a perfect spot in the middle of Old Port. Staff could not have been nicer. Room was clean and very comfortable. Large, clean bathroom. Had breakfast there two mornings and it was excellant, waiter was terriffic. Armory Lounge a great place to have a drink, bartenders were great. Overall a Great Hotel!

This hotel was great! The staff very accommodating the only downside was that being an historic hotel meant the walls were thin. Would stay here again. Great location near shops, restaurants and pubs. Such a fun nightlife in Old Port!

First time staying at the Portland Regency and would recommend it to all. The service was terrific and our breakfast at the hotel restaurant was yummy, great 7 grain bread.

Great service, clean rooms, excellent gym and spa. I've been staying for ten + years, and recommend to all.

everyone was so friendly; the hotel is lovely and quiet, and the beds were like dreams of comfort. Everything cool and happening thing was just a short walk away, since the hotel sits in the heart of the Old Port. My only caution is the brunch: we had Easter Brunch there, and there was no indication anywhere of the price; it was $40 and frankly, the gorgeous dessert cakes did not make it worth that. Otherwise, wonderful.
