Fireside Inn & Suites

The overall facility is dated but the bed was very comfortable and the staff was very helpful/friendly.

It was pleasant. It wasn't very close to downtown Portland, but we manage to find our way around.

We spent the whole day having fun in Portland. Then came here the night before our morning flight. More affordable and near the airport. Not quiet or fancy.

I stayed at Fireside Inn and Suites for 1 night when I went to Portland, Maine. I woke up the next day with a few bed bug bites on both of my hands and arms.

Clean hotel! Close to major attractions and whoopie pies were a nice touch.

Fine hotel for a quick overnight near the airport but if they tell you to move your car to a door number around the way and use the that door for an entrance, do it. We walked for what seemed like a mile from the hotel lobby to our room. It was a decent nights stay, but the hallway looked like and episode of American Horror Story. Needs a flooring and wall covering update. Rooms were decent and clean.

Room was clean and comfortable and reasonably priced. Continental breakfast was very good. One negative was the room was not cleaned one of the days during our stay and friends staying in a nearby room did not have their room cleaned 2 of the 3 days so that was a small issue with our stay but wouldn't deter us from staying there again.

We arrived 30 minutes early for check in. The young lady told me to wait until 3 and wouldn't even take my name to check the status of our room. She seemed annoyed actually. But then when other people were checking in after me so I went up and waited in line. I was greeted by a different person, a very personable young woman who was more than happy to check on my room and actually offered me a room with hardwood or rug. She was extremely nice! Our room was very clean. My only suggestion would be the parking area has a lot of weeds and can use some sprucing up. It takes away from the look of the hotel.

Had dinner at hotel restaurant. It was incredible. Try the chilli.

room stunk very musty ice machine did not work so bad we left one day early

Friendly staff. Room was comfortable for an overnight stay

I needed a place to stay for two nights and at the time I made the reservation this hotel seemed to offer the best value. It was a little further away from where I wanted to be compared to other hotels I've used before but that was only a small concern. The hotel itself was nice enough. Everyone was very nice there and the facilities were quite sufficient. It was good value for the money and I would consider staying here again.

The lobby area and the service from the staff was really good. The airport shuttle was an excellent benefit as we were able to turn our car in early the night before and rely on the shuttle for our transportation. The hotel staff was very helpful in suggesting this service. The downside to the hotel was the condition of the room and the back entrance area. Paint was peeling and it just gave a run down atmosphere.

My wife.and use to love staying here but the front reception staff who use to be extremely courtesy and professional must have left because the staff now are rude and inpatient. Rooms are nice enough and on occasion you can find something underneath the bed from prior quest. At first you will see the k cup machine and smile but beware they have never been cleaned and the coffee tastes like toilet water.

Hotel's a good value with a big swimming pool, but out nonsmoking room reeks of cigarette smoke.

Nice enough place - a little pricey for this type of hotel and the area - backs up to a toll booth for the entrance to route 95 and not a good area (safety wise) to walk anywhere. But room was clean and comfy - didn't use the pools but they looked clean and kept up. Spent most of our time in downtown Portland and the drive was close and lots to see and do in Portland and this hotel, while I thought it a bit pricey was less than the downtown hotels. We found great shops and brew pubs and restaurants - we did the tour of the Allagash Brewery nearby and it was really great with generous "tastings" and it's free. And we've been to several Brewery Tours we're we've payed decent money and this tour for free was way better and way more informative. We also visited the local Big Moose Harley Davidson and they had a great selection of clothes and gifty things for the biker in your family. Didn't try the restaurant at the hotel, just the lounge, and they were out of a lot of stuff - a few people were miffed about that. Bartender also had a bit of an attitude although far from the worse I've run into - rest of the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. My husband says he'd stay again but I'm still a little put off with the cost for that location but maybe I'm just too hard to please !

The Fireside Inn and suites has comfortable rooms, two nice pools, and a restaurant on site. We enjoyed our stay and got into town quickly - about 20 minutes- for sightseeing.

The hotel staff were very helpful. The room was very clean and we even got one on ground level.

Check in smooth, quick, and friendly. Rooms clean and spotless. Pool was nice and warm. Room service no so good food arrived cold. Check out quick and painless. Overall this is a great place to stay staff are friendly and your room is clean no need for a black light to discover if you are at a crime scene.

Reception staff very kind and courtesy. Was great by a guy named Dan and he went out of his way to be helpfiul and ciourtesy. The rooms are extremely clean know need to lay down the rubber sheets. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the hotel restaurant sub par at best.

Thank you for staying with us. Our hotel is under contract for all pest issues. Rooms are inspected frequently and mattresses are wrapped also we go above and beyond to exceed the industry standard. Your room has been offline since this post and Modern Pest did evaluate the room today and the room shows no sign. We take these comments very seriously.

Sorry to hear off your check in experience. Rooms are loaded into the computer as they are cleaned we do have 16 different room types. Some rooms may be ready early where other room types do to location or housekeeping demands may not be ready at time prior to 3pm. I have passed on my concerns in the manner you were greeted by the desk agent. And this is not the normal practice we promote here at this hotel. We do have grounds people on the property today addressing the outside area flower bed and gardens. Thank you again for bring this to my attention.
