Quick stay. Room clean, bed comfortable. Full kitchen in room. Tasty free breakfast was included.

Excellent experience. Extremely clean hotel easy check in and out.

One night bus trip. Really great room. Helpful staff. A big facility and the halls look kind of old style but the room was luxurious and comforable. Wish I had another day in the place.

We enjoyed our recent stay. Our room overlooked the water and the hotel was peaceful, even with many children and pets! Would definitely stay again.

Great experience staying at this hotel for the weekend. Right by restaurants, bars, ocean etc.

Room was very nice and clean and had all the amenities you would expect. Location was good but parking garage could have been attached to hotel

My spouse and I wanted a one-night getaway since we had theatre tickets at the Merrill Auditorium. So we chose the Residence Inn. First time there. What a beautiful place! Our room was a suite-style, plenty of room, beautifully furnished and very clean. Wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy it. The complimentary breakfast the next morning was fabulous---lots of choices and well-prepared. The parking garage next door was super convenient and cost only $12, with in/out privileges for your whole stay. You just get special cards from the hotel front desk each time you use your car. The only thing I would say that didn't appeal---and it's not a major issue---is the view out our window was the backs of old buildings and such. But who cares? We didn't stay there for the view!

We loved the city, the location of the hotel, and often stay at the Marriott brand hotels. Complimentary breakfast is a great bonus. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The location is great. It is very close to the ferry and restaurants in the old port area.

Everything about the hotel and my stay was great. The staff was nice and everything was clean. I would definitely book a stay at this hotel again.

Portland has become a bit of a destination since I grew up there, and the resulting downtown resurgence has seen the arrival of a handful of hotels on the historic waterfront. The Residence Inn on Fore St. is one of those new hotels, and at least when we were staying there, it offered the most competitive rates of the bunch. The pros: Location, close to the waterfront, close to downtown, close to Exchange St., and within walking distance of everything. Great and friendly staff who were very friendly and helpful. Shuttle service available for free from the hotel. Great free breakfast. - At this level of hotel you generally see the shift from the free mediocre continental to the purchased buffet, but the Residence had more or less the buffet quality with the free price tag. Score. Despite being a downtown hotel it did have all the amenities like pool and weight-room. Price - better than everything downtown. I've stayed at the Weston and Holiday Inn, the older downtown hotels, and the Residence was a step up from both in overall value. Cons: Right next to Shipyard brewing. Might be a plus for some people, but our window looked out onto a loading dock, and when we left our window open in the evening, we awoke to the sound of idling big rigs. This is nit-picky, but the main stairway sort of leads to nowhere. An enclosed central second floor courtyard without room access. Stick to the elevators and it's not an issue.

Very good location, you can walk everywhere. The room was very spacious, well decorated and comfortable, Very good experience!

Our room was OK although the bed was too soft, the couch uncomfortable, and being on the second floor with overgrown plants out our windows made it dark. I would have been OK with all of that for $304 a night if not for the rude waitstaff in the breakfast area. I wanted to fill up a water bottle with some juice and a server told me that it wasn't sanitary. Some may agree with this but I had seen other people do it, and the most ironic part is that she had a mouthful of food when she told me this! When I pointed out that she was serving food and eating, and that was not sanitary, she apologized for talking with her mouth full! This was my third stay in Portland and my first stay at this hotel. Needless to say, I won't be back or stay at a Residence Inn again.

Staff not knowledgable, helpful - parking a real problem. Not returning

Hotel was clean and convenient (although I would be a bit nervous walking there late at night as it is near a big empty lot). King bed very comfortable. Sofa bed typically uncomfortable. Kids age 7 and 3 loved it but an adult would not. Room was big enough for all four of us and kitchen handy for a longer stay. We were pleasantly surprised by the breakfast. Overall, very good place for a family of four to stay in a single room.

We had an internal room with no view but for more money one can have a room overlooking the bay. Our room was very quiet. Hotel is about 3-4 blocks from primary restaurant/shop area. Parking is an additional $12 per day with unlimited in and out privilege.

Comfortable stay in a very roomy accomodations. Great breakfast included.

Although the price was a little too high, we found our stay at the residence inn marriott quite enjoyable. We were not expecting such a wonderful room. Very clean perfect for us for the weekend. A nice walk to downtown was great for exploring. The nice touch was the complementary breakfast. We were definitely not expecting that!

spent a weekend here in March, staff was friendly and helpful, rooms were very comfortable, we had the suite with a king bed and livingroom with pullout couch. kitchen was stocked with all that we needed.parking was right next door and we were able to walk to most places. Breakfast was plentiful and there was always coffee, tea or iced water available in the lobby. Bar had nice sitting areas as well with a fireplace. They even had a courtesy van that drove us to another part of the city and would have returned when we called to pick us up if needed. I would definitely recommend it and would stay there again!

This was a great place to stay while in Portland. Within walking distance to every place you needed to go. Plus only 5 minutes off the highway. The staff was super nice and helpful. My only draw back was the bed was pretty soft, but you can't have everything. If you're looking for a few days in Portland, best bang for your buck!
