This particular Super 8 has always struggled with cleanliness, quality, staff retention...the property is just so broken down even after the previous owner made some upgrades. This time we had to get a new room as first one's phone, fridge, and TV weren't working. Second room had filthy floors, broken lamp shade, and TV still wasn't working. Almost none of the patio doors in second building have working handle locks. The female employee at check in was clueless & not helpful...BUT, the young man who works the morning/breakfast times slot has been there a long time & does a great job.

The room was nice enough but the AC fan was noisy and had only one speed. We couldn't get it to go on low speed. Talked to the front desk and they said they'd come up to take a look but never showed up? The room honestly wasn't worth the $180. Didn't eat breakfast there so can't comment about that. Parking was good.

This hotel is doing false advertising. They claim to have TV but I checked in and found the TV did not work so went to the front desk and was informed that the TV had been out for several days and they would do noting about including getting me a room where the TV worked or some type of discount. I wanted to watch the Cubs baseball game and would have not ever rented this room if they had told the truth upfront that there was no TV. Also the breakfast was terribly not healthy. Basically all they had was a unhealthy waffle.

The first room we were given had a sliding Patio door that would not lock, that room was also dirty and had a strange smell. Since the door didn't lock we were given a new room, the door locked but still had an even stranger smell. In the new room there was dirt all over the shower like it hadn't been cleaned and apparent red sauce, like Pizza sauce on one of the bed sheets. Oh yeah, and they allow pets - our neighbor had a dog in the room which barked until after midnight. We do not recommend this property.

The staff was pleasant. The place appeared clean at first glance. Our bathroom had all new toiletries and looked clean, but there was a towel hanging from a previous guest behind the bathroom door. Due to the time of year there were LOTS of bugs outside in the back. They were all over the patio doors and in the room. I killed about five in the room. I just felt like bugs were on me even though they weren’t. The back on the property sits on a creek/river and is very pretty but could use more TLC on the bank so as to enjoy it more. Lots of the screw. doors were just hanging on the frame or completely off.

Don't stay here!

Don't stay here!! Absolutely horrible. Beer bottles and garbage right outside our room. The room was dirty. The tv was connected to an outlet that if you shut off one of the main lights then the tv also shut off. The remote was missing so we called the front desk. He apologized and said can't you change the channel on the actual tv? Very unhelpful. The back door lock was broken so we had to place a chair in front of it all night to make sure no one came in. Worst hotel stay ever. I have never given this bad of a review.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

I hardly ever rate where I stay but this place needs a -10 rating. This hotel is prob one of the worst stays I have had ever. There was black ash coming out of the A/C unit, the floor was dirty, bath and bathroom. Our sliding door did not lock and had to put a desk in front of it because the fri t office would not help. There were shady people outside our back patio area. Avoid at all costs!!!! And for how much they charge it’s unbelievable!

Upon arrival we were assigned an already occupied/dirty room. The damp moldy smell in the room was terrible but it was good hot and humid to open the window. The tv didn”t work and the shampoo/conditioner/ dispenser was empty.

Staff was very friendly. There was no elevator to haul up my heavy suitcase. The hair dryer was broken and the locks on the door were very loose. Even though we were on the second floor, the fact that the patio door would not lock was still disconcerting. I also found dead bugs on the table surfaces and the plastic cover of a razor on the bathroom floor. Finally the shampoo on the attached shower wall would not dispense. I feel like they could do better.

Location was perfect for us was the best part. The beds were comfortable and was pretty quiet. Downside is it smelled like old an old smoker and couldn’t lock the balcony door. They also need to clean the track for the deck door, full of mold and grime. If you want someone to enjoy the little balcony it would be nice if the screen door would slide, was too full of gunk. Should have taken a picture to post. Won’t stay there again.
