We were very disappointed with our stay at this hotel. The cost was $127 for 1 queen bed, no breakfast. The room had been newly renovated, new floors, but nothing on the walls; the vanity was missing a pull on the door: the toilet rocked when you sat on it; paint on the woodwork; piece of trim missing on the wall; and the blanket on the bed was old, the trim around the edge was coming off. My husband and I both said we should have made this a day trip! We are also use to budget hotels, but I don't consider paying $127 for a room like this to be a budget price. Loved the area though, great food.

I arrived very late at night, the manager leaves you a realtor style lockbox on your room and lets you know the code to get the key so you can get in after hours so that was convenient. The next day I left the "No Service" sign on the door for privacy which was NOT respected, someone entered by room to leave my receipt on the night stand. They should have slid it under the door instead of violating my privacy. Since I was gone taking an art class in the area 9-5, I never saw a single person or met any staff. My room was street side with road/parking lot noise and only black out curtains, no privacy curtains to let light in. Night 2 I realized my room was filthy, there was hair EVERYWHERE in the shower - top of the walls, filthy soap/hair dish, and a bizarre circular swirl of shaving scum hair right on the wall. Complained to manager, it was "cleaned" the next day. Not. I found dried pasta in some of the drawers that had food stains, and when I accidentally nudged the mattress off the box spring I was DISGUSTED by the bed. The place is FILTHY. No amenities, no coffee in room or lobby, no soda machine. Night 3 I discovered the hot water runs out fast. Sink cabinet was white, sink top was brown, sink was ivory, toilet and tub were taupe, toilet seat/lid was a light pink.... it's like it's built from garage sale parts to give you an idea of the quality of your stay. The walls are blue and dirty, with white plaster patch spots... it really blew my mind how bad it was, I would never stay here again.

The room was nothing spectacular but what you would expect for the very reasonable rate, that being said, it had everything I needed for a comfortable stay and a good night's sleep. Why I am writing my first review of any service oriented business ever, is the fantastic customer service I received. Without the details, I was in a bit of a pinch with my off road motorcycle and fishing gear, storage, timing and security. The owner was very understanding and arranged to solve my issues. THAT is what keeps me going back to a business and I believe what others look for as well. I recommend The Traveler's Inn!

We drove to Mineral Point to attend the Fall art show (worth the trip!) and stayed at The Traveler's Inn for one night (saturday). We are used to staying at budget hotels but this one has issues. First, and important to me, there was only one roll of toilet paper, and it was not a full roll. We looked everywhere around the room then went to the the desk/owner to ask. Twice. There was no one there, just a phone number to call. I understand that some hotels don't have coffee makers (like this one), but toilet paper!? Really? Some of the features included; stained carpet, no tissues, two flimsy cups, an old microwave that barely worked, no blow drier, a blinking clock that was not easily set, a knob that was difficult to pull to turn on the shower, no coffee maker and no toilet paper! Being optimistic, I gave it a 2 rating (after much deliberation) on the hope it will improve. There is a new owner who was really friendly, hot water in the shower with good spray, and sturdy screws holding down the art work on the walls. Things could be worse. At least there was SOME toilet paper!
