What made this stay great was the location of this hotel. Walk outside you are close to a Bottle store, Family Mart, Restaurants, Pharmacies, Jungceylon Shopping Mall and Bangla Road entertainment hub. For people who want to visit the beach all day long maybe a bit inconvenient but for a stroll for a morning walk or to see the sunset then no problems and only about 5 minute walk. I mentioned Bangla Road Entertainment, you are far enough away not to be bothered about any loud music or crowds. I liked the pool, one of the few where I have gone swimming without getting my eyes burned out by chlorine. The staff are friendly and helpful although sometimes you need to attract there attention for service when having a meal at the restaurant. We had two minor problems such as a light bulb needing replacing and the sink plug got stuck, but when we brought these to the attention of the hotel they were fixed almost immediately. The hotel is starting to show its age and probably is due for renovations to spruce the rooms up especially the bathrooms as our sink was on the way out. But I like the old style wood paneling and would hate to see that old style charm go away. Wifi was good for a few days then it became bad and kept dropping out, luckily we always get a local tourist sim and this plan had 6gb of data included so no problems occurred. TV reception and stations are not the best so if you have children then own entertainment on tablets would be needed to keep them occupied. If you need a luxury stay then this is not for you but need a place to crash and relax after the day then walk for shopping and nightlife it is great. We went off season so not sure how this hotel would be like if crowded. This was my 5th trip to Patong and both myself and wife reckon our best and a big part was the location and staff of this hotel even with its faults which to us were small. I think if I was able I would have given the hotel a "good" star for overall rating
we booked 3 nights as a package with our flights. stayed one night. the rooms smelt of cigarette smoke. the air con was average at best. barely no toilet paper in the room, with no spare rolls. the key holder for the rooms power was broken. the bed was as hard as the floor. it rained overnight and the balcony still had 50mm of water covering the entire floor. on check in, after a 9 hour flight the lady doing it was very rude. the curtains had terrible stains all over them. we requested connecting rooms or at least side by side with twin bed in one and a double bed the other. this didn't happen until after we arrived at the room and made a complaint, then we were moved to another floor. rooms were not side by side though. there are much better options. wifi was aweful and slow and kept dropping out
Originally booked for 3 nights and eventually stayed 10 nights. It's a warm friendly Resort close to most thinks in Patong. Jungeceylon, Bangla Road and the beach are a 5 minute walk from Tonys. The staff are friendly and accommodating and can answer in clear English. The rooms are quiet large and the plus is all the English channels on the tv, more than other hotels I've stayed in. I can't comment on the breakfast as I didn't try it but others said it was value for money. So if your visiting Patong I'd recommend Tonys Resort. You won't be disappointed
Stayed there for two weeks. Plus points are the location - central for everything in Patong, good price although expected in low season, friendly helpful staff. Not so good points - it's a bit dated. Small niggles - tissue paper and soap rubbish so buy your own. No Do Not Disturb sign for door so door keeps getting knocked by maid.
We stayed for 16 nights & enjoyed everything about the hotel, 5 mins walk to shopping centre & Bangla rd. Off street entrance so no street noise. Breakfast was good, room clean. Hotel is old, but excellent for the price. Staff were always helpful & friendly. The only bad point is no gym for our boys. Our 7th visit to Patong & best hotel for price & location we have found.
I wanted to do some shopping in Patong so l picked Tony resort and I'm glad l did. . On arrival the staff were very pleasant in fact all the staff are lovely and helpful. The room was not around the pool it was near the parking area but there was no noise so it was nice and quite. Beds firm but ok a large room with large windows and a door to the balcony total block out curtains. Breakfast average but plenty did not run out and the tea was really hot. l order room service it was prompt serve on a wooden platter satay chicken. 2 free bottles of water everyday a kettle and 2 cups but you must provide your own tea or coffee though.
We stayed here between 20 Jan and 5 Feb 2017. This is not only a review but also a really big 'thank you' to all the staff. They went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. The location of the hotel is perfect for Bangla Road and the beach. However, we spent a lot of time lounging around the pool. I do not like too much sun, and parts of this area were well shaded. We went B&B and the breakfast was fine, with eggs being cooked to order. Having lunch most days around the pool was something we will fondly remember. Whilst the hotel may be slightly 'old' we always felt that we were in Thailand and not a resort in Europe. They provided free beach towels everyday, the room safe was free and they supplied free umbrella's one night when it was raining. I don't want to name all the very helpful staff (including the two young ladies who were named "trainees") or even the Arsenal supporter. Hopefully we will see you again sometime.
Excellent internet; lovey warm decor. Bring your own soap and tissues (both as provided are useless). However, the problem is the techno headbanger music being played over the loudspeakers around the pool - even just after breakfast. Three days in a row we politely asked them to get real, three days in a row they simply turned it down a little, and after that we just had to avoid the pool area (after paying a premium for two poolside rooms). What hotel management in their right mind allows the teenage pool-boy to select his own music for the poolside relaxation of a huge range of guests? A disaster. Would never stay there again.
Stayed here years ago on a regular basis and went back due to needing 7 rooms, so cost was a focus! Very disappointing indeed with regard to the property. The staff are very pleasant and helpful, and that must be acknowledged. The rooms were tired, the breakfast was awful and after 3 days, just ate elsewhere for breakfast. But get the right rate and just use it as a place to put you head down.
Read negative and positive reviews, and took a chance, from the moment I worked in to the moment I left it was all positive, it's 3 stars, and value for money, if you want 5 stars go somewhere else and pay the price. Aircon broke down late one night someone was there in a few minutes, fixed it, cleaned the mess, the next morning manager checked with me to make sure I was happy, so I couldn't fault them on that or anything else. I'll be back
