Not too impressed by Patong itself I have to say, too many people, especially at night!! but £ for £ this hotel is brilliant value. I paid £37 PN for a standard king room and what a room, huge! Nothing special for location of the room, ground floor by the carpark but you get what you pay for. If I stop here again, I'd get a room overlooking the idyllic pool area if not too much more. Great location, slap bang in the middle of the action but the hotel itself is so quiet! The pool area is a little oasis, so quiet. Plenty of sunbeds, possibly on average only about 8-10 people were around the large pool. The room was excellent, very big and had an 8' wide bed (8'!!) I measured it! (sad). Very clean, made up every day, no bugs etc. Shower hot. Kettle in room, but no coffee, tea, sugar sachets etc...Bring your own! Buffet all you can eat, breakfast was cheap at 179 bhat... It was OK, but I didn't have a good brekkie at all in Phuket... its all artificial orange juice, hot dog sausages & cheap ham. They did have some Thai dishes for brekkie, but no meat in them, underwhelming... but there was fresh salad, fruit, an omelette station. For 179 Bhat OK Obviously there's better. more expensive hotels in Patong, but for the money, would thoroughly recommend for its standard & location.
Great traditional resort, excellent location, staff were not friendly at first but warmed up after a few days. Hotel could do with a few renos but you get what you pay for. Breakfast was standard and pretty much the same every day, not too keen on being offered pre-cooked eggs that had been sitting for some time and getting a look when asked for fresh cooked eggs. The pool area was very relaxing and we spent a lot time there before heading out for the day and then on our return in the afternoon open till 9 or 10pm sorry cant remember, but later than some resorts over there. We had 2 pool view, 3rd floor rooms which were roomy enough, air con in both rooms were great and house keeping were amazing. Family of 7, mum, dad, 20 yr, 22 yr, 15 yr, 10 yr and our 4 year old granddaughter all enjoyed our stay. You dont get all the bells and whistles but a very clean, central hotel. Maybe improve on breakfast, music around pool area, after a day out we dont want to listen to heavy music. And maybe a few more chairs around pool. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.
When I book a room with a balcony overlooking the swimming pool, I do not think a ground floor room end of block away from the swimming pool and facing a blank dirty unpainted wall and with a constant smell from drains acceptable. Reaction from reception staff was unhelpful and after three hours of being ignored I had no option but to accept the room offered by the hotel. I arranged for the room of our choice at a higher rate for a week later and even then there were problems with reception agreeing to the change. Breakfast within the hotel, was the most basic and boring that I have ever experienced. Heated trays of yesterdays veg and noodles. Fresh fruit was the same day after day, when available.Otherwise toast and eggs. I also didn't like to see staff drinking milk from the jug waiting to replace the almost empty coffee and tea milk jug on the stand. Restauraunt staff gardening in the same clothing as they served in was not altogether hygenic as was same staff using the pool toilets and not washing their hands afterwards. We have stayed at this hotel before and have always enjoyed our time there. On this occasion, the hotel appeared not to value us as paying customers. We will never return to this hotel.
Would not recommend this hotel, the facilities/rooms were nice but the service/management we terrible. We were booked to stay two separate stays at the hotel, the first time they told us that they didn't have our room and that they were fully booked despite having our booking in front of them. So at 1.30am in the morning they had us walk down the street to stay at an alternative hotel, (which had much better service). On our second stay they again told us that they did not have our room that we booked (the deluxe pool view room) and we could not have it till tomorrow and that we could stay in a less room but would not receive any compensation or refund for the difference in value. After trying to get some sort of better response we end up taking the lesser room. but in the change over they left us without a room for 2 hours. We tried to repeatedly ask for the manager on multiple days and was refused and they hotel refused to give us a print out of what we stayed in, making to very hard to follow up the company. Would not recommend.
I am not recommending this hotel for anyone. Only location is good. The hotel is very old. Furniture and facilities are old and make bad smells. I found insect in my room. Room cleaning is bad. Welcoming is very poor. There was no variety of food in breakfast. You can clearly see the insects in the top of the fruits. Dining hall is an open area as well as the lobby.
Hotel is clean, staff friendly and helpful. Rooms are good size. We stayed in a pool side room which was nice. Breakfast was sufficient with eggs cooked to order Located easy walk to everything in Patong, beach entertainment and shops. This hotel is value for money
Pity Patong Beach itself is a "hole" as this little resort is clean, friendly, good value for money, quiet and we would come back but the constant harassment on the streets outside the resort is unpleasant to say the least. "No I don't want a F'ing Tuk Tuk, Massage or see Ping Pong" LOL If you are happy to stay in the resort, relax, sunbathe, swim, eat, drink and be merry, it is a little oasis amongst the mayhem outside. For 3* it's good. We didn't find the bed hard but then again we have firm beds at home. Rooms stay coolish at night so aircon can be turned off if aircon such noise disturbs you. WiFi hiccupped now and again. Ground floor pool view rooms are worth the little extra.
Taxi from airport to hotell 800 bath..Breakfast was Ok,with own egg station so you can choose what you want..Toast and marmelade and some local food and juice, tea and coffee. The hotel is in the middle of Patong but inside a street so you dont hear the noise from the street..The room has a balcony so you can smoke if you feel for that.. Shopping maal 10 min walk, with lots of shops, restaurant, cinemas etc etc
Room was spacious and clean. Bed was seriously uncomfortable as hard as a rock. Air con kept up to the heat outside. Pool was good. Staff friendly and quick to sort out the wifi that wasn't working and help me organize a driver for the day ( thanks so much) Breakfast was a little disappointing as not much variety , so eggs on toast it was. Pool bar , restaurant on site. The outside manager was a great man, always smiling and happy to move scooter under cover when raining
What made this stay great was the location of this hotel. Walk outside you are close to a Bottle store, Family Mart, Restaurants, Pharmacies, Jungceylon Shopping Mall and Bangla Road entertainment hub. For people who want to visit the beach all day long maybe a bit inconvenient but for a stroll for a morning walk or to see the sunset then no problems and only about 5 minute walk. I mentioned Bangla Road Entertainment, you are far enough away not to be bothered about any loud music or crowds. I liked the pool, one of the few where I have gone swimming without getting my eyes burned out by chlorine. The staff are friendly and helpful although sometimes you need to attract there attention for service when having a meal at the restaurant. We had two minor problems such as a light bulb needing replacing and the sink plug got stuck, but when we brought these to the attention of the hotel they were fixed almost immediately. The hotel is starting to show its age and probably is due for renovations to spruce the rooms up especially the bathrooms as our sink was on the way out. But I like the old style wood paneling and would hate to see that old style charm go away. Wifi was good for a few days then it became bad and kept dropping out, luckily we always get a local tourist sim and this plan had 6gb of data included so no problems occurred. TV reception and stations are not the best so if you have children then own entertainment on tablets would be needed to keep them occupied. If you need a luxury stay then this is not for you but need a place to crash and relax after the day then walk for shopping and nightlife it is great. We went off season so not sure how this hotel would be like if crowded. This was my 5th trip to Patong and both myself and wife reckon our best and a big part was the location and staff of this hotel even with its faults which to us were small. I think if I was able I would have given the hotel a "good" star for overall rating
