Well kept facilities with very helpful staff. The downside is the AC was hard to adjust to comfortable temperature. Noticed mold in the shower tile ( grout), this seem to be common for 4-5 star hotels in Thailand???!! Definitely could use some better cleaning or air flow. Breakfasts buffet menu variety one of the best. You will find selection of western, asian and indian dishes as well as fresh fruit and kids menu. Good espresso machine. Pools facilities spacious with convenient access to Patong beach. Would recommend to families with kids or people who are ok with a lot of little ones around the pools.
Checkin good. Rooms are big and clean. Pool is lovely. Breakfast is amazing. Staff were helpful and friendly. Have stayed here twice. Hotel is in a great location. Although a roof fell in one of the rooms. I think it was because of the dampness. However the people that were in that room were upgraded and no one was hurt. Airconditioners are lovely and cold. Very enjoyable stay.
So many positive experiences here. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Great resort for all ages - especially well catered for children. All staff have been outstanding, from housekeeping to the security guard at the elevator. Always positive, happy and nothing seems to be any trouble. Breakfast buffet is the best I have experienced anywhere. A very big surprise for us was the on-site Nurse! We were unlucky enough to get sick eating at a local restaurant up the road. There is a clinic at the hotel and the lovely nurse came to our room to check us out, provided some medications and electrolyte powder. Nurse was very very helpful and kind. She was able to assess and even my 72 year old father and recommend remedies to help him back to health. Her medical knowledge is A+++
We had an amazing stay here! The staff were all really helpful and the food was really good. Would defiantly stay again. Great location, across the road from the beach and a short walk to bangala road.
We’ve stayed here for sixteen consecutive years, the staff are superb and more like a family as many have been here since our first trip. The Busakorn wing offers extremely comfortable accommodation and the rooms with direct pool access are superb. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a relaxing vacation in the heart of Patong, a stones throw from the beach as well! We’ll definitely be back next year!
During our visit to Thailad during spring break in the U.S. we chose to stay in Patong. I was slightly surprised by the surrounding area as I had no idea how crazy Patong can get, but that's a separate review. :) We were only at the Holiday Inn for 3 nights but we loved our stay. We were 2 adults and 2 kids (ages 6/9) in a double room and we felt the room was more than adequate in size for us. The pools were very clean and nice and we didn't have any issue finding seats, although it did rain here and there during our stay so that likely helped. We ate breakfast at the buffet every day and each day it was very good and a nice variety. Definitely worth to get the room rate that includes breakfast. We also had room service and let's just say that after my kids tried their pizza the first afternoon we had it every single day there, they loved it and it was moderately priced. On our final evening we had dinner at the restaurant by the pool and the food was just ok. There are many many dining establishments within walking distance, so don't be afraid to wander around. We happened to be there during the thai new year water festival and it was quite the scene around Patong. The hotel was wonderful at filling up water guns for the hotel guests in the back exit of the hotel by the beach. Note that once you exit the back, Patong beach is literally across the street. Not my favorite beach, but still very nice. On the day we left the hotel arranged a private taxi to take us to the airport and it was a marvelous ride taking the back roads of Phuket along the beach side instead of the main highway, you'll see wonderful sights. Overall, we were highly impressed by the Holiday inn and would definitely be back. Don't forget that if you're staying with kids you can't access the other pools on the adult side, but it wasn't an issue to us at all. There was plenty for our kids to do and pools we could use were just fine. They also used the kids club just one day for a couple of hours and they really had a good time.
While a bit old style, this is a full service hotel, offering multiple swimming pools, multiple restaurants, a full spa and fitness center. While a bit far of a walk from walking street, it is nearby the Hard Rock and Hooters and offers easy access to the beach. An excellent choice if you want to stay in Patong.
We have just finished a ten day stay in the penthouse suite at the Holiday Inn resort. Everything has been so perfect that it’s difficult to know where to start. Perhaps most importantly the staff are wonderful and never stop smiling. The room is incredible and serviced twice daily. The four restaurants are completely different and thus can fulfill any need. Finally the hotel is in the centre of town so everything is within easy walking distance. We haven’t posted on Trip Advisor for some time but this stay was so enjoyable we had to tell everyone ! Many thanks all at the Holiday Inn.
We spent 7 nights at the Holiday Inn. While we enjoyed our stay and our kids had a fabulous time, it wasn't all good. First the good: The kids club was amazing. My younger spent a lot of her time there. Opal, specifically was amazing with her. She enjoyed her time so much that she wrote a letter to Opal before we left telling her how much fun she had had there. The restaurants were wonderful and the staff that worked at the hotel were all very nice, always smiling and very helpful. The room was very clean. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job. We were very impressed with their attention to detail and they customer service. The location is fantastic. Its far enough from the crazy of Patong, but close enough that if you want to experience a bit of the crazy, its an easy walk. Its also a great location if you want to head to the beach and catch a longtail to another beach in the area. The kids eat free feature is fantastic. So helpful for families and the food choices were such that there was something for everyone, even picky kids. The Bad: We arrived late, and despite calling ahead of time to tell them we were going to be arriving late, we were still put in a room on the street side of the hotel that was very loud. Traffic noise was an issue. The beds in the room were ridiculously small and very uncomfortable. They are noted as double beds, but from our experience this generally means a queen in Asia. Not at this hotel. The beds were so small that my husband and I barely fit in one of the beds. In addition the beds were so hard, it made for 7 nights of very uncomfortable sleeps. The room was large, there was plenty of space that they could have fit queen sized beds very easily in this room. The Pool. The pool was our biggest issue. The website highlights all of the pools and there is no mention that, depending on your room, you will or will not be allowed to use the various pools. Of course we only found out after we arrived that only one pool was available for our use (in addition to the kids pool, which was not appropriate for my kids age/size). We did mention this and we were told we could use the pools in the Busakorn wing, but we were not allowed to use the chairs. Not at all helpful. The other issue was the lounge chairs at the main pool. There are signs posted everywhere that you are not allowed to reserve lounge chairs, and that towels placed on chairs prior to the pool opening at 8 am would be removed. The hotel staff did not enforce this rule. The numerous senior citizens staying at this hotel, get up at 7 am, put towels on all of the chairs that have any shade on them throughout the day, and then leave until 10-11 am. Leaving the chairs unusable by anyone else. I attempted to remove a towel at on point after I observed no one sitting in the chair for several hours and was yelled at by an old german man for using his chair and he told me to me. I also witnessed another pair of Russian seniors arriving at the pool after 11 am, and telling a family with young children to get out of their chairs, despite the fact that they had no claim to those chairs at all. The seniors also enjoyed telling a number of kids off, for doing nothing more than being kids in a pool. Any minute splashing got a kid a reprimand. Its a family hotel, not a seniors hotel. I would stay at this hotel again, but only if I was paying for the Busakorn wing. I would not stay in the normal wing.
Awesome Hotel, good stafff, amazing location and best food. The most wonderful thing is the kids play area and kids pool. My daughter just loved the whole set up. Thank you for am amazing holiday experience
