We stayed 10 nights in bungalow. The resort as a whole is in need of upgrading & ongoing maintenance, the bungalows are old & tired. The floors in the bathroom are bare concrete, the walls & shower are bare concrete that has been painted approx. 1 metre above floor level, some years ago. The toilet can't cope with flushing toilet paper (a common problem with all older buildings) The bed was very, very hard & is contained within some weird step up from the bedroom floor. This means your mattress is only some 30 cms off floor (difficult to get in & out of bed) then there are 2 steps down to main floor area, again difficult/dangerous in night time. This resort is a "sister" to The Front Village, they share the same entrance & we were advised that for breakfast we could have buffet served in The Front Village or a la carte in our hotel. (they actively encourage & advise customers to go to the Front Village) The buffet is very, very ordinary, choices are basic & food is more often than not cold, There appear to be a lot of buses catering for Asian tourists that use The Front Village, so most mornings the food trays are near empty. Service is always with a smile, however trying to converse or making a request is met with blank stares, they just do not,or they appear to not understand. The a la carte meal at the Resort & Spa is ordered by completing an order form, this will then be interpreted by the cook who usually gets it wrong on every occasion. Order hard boiled eggs & you get fried eggs. Order the American breakfast of fried eggs, bacon & sausage & toast usually means you may get 3 of the 4 & these will be delivered on separate plates at separate times. Trying to sort this out with wait staff gets you the usual puzzled stare. We had a few issues, the room safewould not unlock on 2 occasions & we needed someone to fix, the air conditioner hand control needed new batteries to operate the A/C. We had to contact reception a couple of times to request fresh towels as room had not been made up for us by early arvo. So maybe we were considered whingers which probably explains the very dour & unhappy response from one particular receptionist. On checking out & paying the bill we didn't even receive a smile, only the comment that they would go & check room & contents before we left ! Only saving grace for this place is the pool (don't even think of the Jacuzzi.Filthy!) nice place to relax, but it also needs some TLC. All in all, a disappointing stay, we will avoid this place if we are to return to Karon.

We stayed for 4 nights at this resort and did enjoy our stay here. We just felt the place lacked a little care and finesse. We stayed in the private villas which were lovely and comfortable. The padlock lock on the doors was a little strange we thought and needs to be addressed a more secure method of locking the accommodation. The resort was very quiet during our stay and there was ground improvement work taking place which looks very promising. There is a poolside bar that is very good but not really very inviting a little bit of decoration or lights would make it much more inviting. The area around the pool and sun beds are very tired looking and again do not look very inviting. We booked breakfast and were told it would be in the poolside restaurant, we headed there on our first morning and were told our breakfast would be served in the main hotel across the drive. Nothing about this was inviting the small terrace looked out onto the main road, the food provision was very poor and in appetising, very basic western food provision that was very bland and tasteless. One selection of white bread, bowl of yoghurt with diced fruits same each day. We did not enjoy eating there at all. Most of the time we felt we were alone at the resort, we did not have much interaction with staff. I had two of the best spa treatments I have ever had and would well recommend the spa and the girls in there even tho it is only s temporary set up inside one of the villas it was beautiful. With some attention to detail this place could be amazing. It was good value for money and we did enjoy the stay, however, it is currently definitely only 3stars not 4 as advertised. It is relatively close to beach but still a good walk through a park area about 5 mins. It is easy to stroll to main Karon beach but it is a good 10-15 mins stroll. All in all a nice enough place.

Booking.com reservation for 3 nights. Transfer from Phuket airport set up in advance and we arrived about an hour after landing. Check in went smoothly, and my wife and I booked two trips with Champagne Club to visit Maya Beach and James Bond beach. Staff was eager to help book this and set everything up for us within minutes. Later that day, we noticed the room we were in was stifling and hot. The front desk sent someone to work on it but he said he couldn't get it any cooler. They graciously upgraded us to a new unit. The room was clean and much cooler. Aside from the air conditioning fail, the property is clean with some construction on multiple units. During our stay, we did not hear any construction or any other noise pollution. It was very quiet. Really quiet. We only saw two other people on the property in 3 days, which was surprising. The property is also a bit of a walk into town, but the beach is close and beautiful. My wife and I visited a few other locations while in Karon, and some of the other resorts looked more modern and not so outdated. Looking back, we probably would have booked something more in the heart of Karon.

Room was a little run down. Staffs are very eager to pleased but they seemed understaffed with Spa therapist working at the cafe during breakfast. a face lift would make a lot of difference. Lovely bath and dressing area. Showerhead needs to be readjusted as mine was washing the glass door instead of me. No modern day locking for rooms as yet and i was given a key and a huge padlock to lock my sliding glassdoor each day. Very peaceful and a lovely pool. The main drawback would be the fact it's 850m away from the nearest food stall and a hotel shuttle should easily rectify this problem. Security man is extremely helpful and smiling. Cheers to that

Lovely spacious room was clean & comfortable & the pool area great for relaxing. The staff were friendly & helpful. Only a 10 min walk to town either by road or a nice walk along the beach. Some great little family restaurants & a handy mini mart just around the corner. Some nice little restaurants also on the beach just across the little lake opposite the resort. The only negative was the power goes out when you remove the room card if going out for the day so the fridge also turns off & it didn't stay very cold........& we like our beer cold!

Our first week in Thailand, started at the The Village Resort. It began with an information, that due to revonation of the resort, there where some working noise during the day and they apologizes and asked if we haven't been informed about this. (We alwayz book our hotel via @hotels.com and haven't received an info about this. For this holiday trip, we had booked another hotel, @capesienna at Kamala beach and there we got an mail about similiar working during our holiday and we where offered some packages free of charge or they accepted our cancellation). Here we did not received any offer or an Upgrade to a better Villa. So we stayed here for one week, as booked. Therefore we only give the Resort 3 stars. But the Resort is very nice, quiet and the pool area is really a small paradise. The Villa is huge, with a living room, a nice walk-in closet for 2, a big bedroom and the bathroom was also big, with a huge bathtub. Maybe a refreshing painting would be great. A small walking distance to a great beach and short distance to a lot of shops, massage and restaurants. Wifi working just Perfect. If the situation with the working noise haven't been an issue - we would have given the Resort 5 stars.

DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I MADE. So, this is my first review of any place I've been. I am doing this because I don't want anyone to have their trip ruined. I have travelled all over the world from the poorest to richest locales. I booked poolside here being fooled by the photos. As soon as I arrive and unpack my belongings, the air conditioner breaks so we switch rooms. No apology. Nothing. Next morning, SO MUCH NOISE DISTURBANCE from workers roaming the area around my room. Could not sleep nor get any peace but I let it go. Then on third day, I notice the ants on the wall. I am infuriated. I call house keeping to sort it out. No apology!!! And then, it happens. The lights go our. Comes back on in two minutes. This repeats for hours every randomly every 40 minutes or so. I have had it. I go to front desk and explain the situation and tell them I need to cancel my last two nights. They say I need to contact Expedia because they have a no refund policy. So I do. Eventually, they accept my request and I go to front desk in the morning to check out. Well, what a surprise. NO APOLOGY. I switched to Amari and am so happy here. Whew. Rant over. Don't make the same mistake I made.

We stayed here in May 2017 and overall enjoyed our stay. This resort has some amazing features but has a few negatives that hold it down. The positives Reception staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. Room size and layout is absolutely brilliant. Huge and spacious with seperate bedroom, bathroom, living area and wardrobe. Rooms are clean and bath is huge. The resort offers quiet and privacy tucked away from the street. The resort is never crowded. Always tables at breakfast and plenty of sun lounges to go around. The pool and elevated mountain view jacuzzi are excellent. Cool and refreshing and kept clean. Location is great. There are food and drink option within a 1 minute walk. The beach and main strip in Karon is a flat and easy 10 minute walk. There are taxis and tuk tuk's right out front of the resort. It's nice to be a bit away from the main area where it's quiet and peaceful but still close to town. The staff did fix some issues we had promptly. Air con leaking, flat remote batteries, provided a matress topper and softer pillows on request. The negatives The breakfast was very average. We had issues getting good eggs from the egg cook. The spreads for toast were jam or honey and unsalted butter (salted butter, peanut butter, Vegemite would've been nice). The worst of all was that the warmers to keep the food hot were off and the hot food was warm at best. Not enjoyable to eat. The pool bar was inconsistent. We had some great drinks and some terrible ones. The worst being a round of mojito's that tasted like straight soda water. There were more good than bad to be fair but they should all be great. The room did have some things needing attention. Shower head needed replacing, DVD player was partially broken needing help to open and close the tray. The roof leaked above our safe and wardrobe when it rained heavy. These things weren't a huge problem for us but it'd be fair to assume these things should be fixed as apart of good maintenance. I'm sure if we complained they would've been fixed right away but we'd already had to request a few things and personally I don't like to continue asking for things. Overall This was a great stay and we were glad we chose this place. It provided great quiet and privacy. Mostly the staff were helpful and friendly (one exception but I can't remember his name) great place to relax and swim and not far to enjoy Karon. The big question. Would we come back? Probably not. Great place but lacking a bit in a few areas and didn't give the wow factor that others for a similar price offer.

Pros: -Get a room that has direct pool access - one of the best parts about the hotel -It was peaceful at night and most of the time during the days as well. -An easy walk to Karon beach or to quite a few restaurants, shops, fruit sellers and a place that rents bikes - highly recommend to rent a bike while in Phuket! Cons: -Breakfast was nothing to call home about, limited options for vegetarians/vegans, average food. -Room service food was just 'average'.

This has to be the most serene hotel we've ever stayed at. From the minute we walked in to the spacious open air reception everything was calm. We were shown to our room which was really a separate small bungalow! You have a living room with tv, mini fridge chairs and sofa, then down a small corridor and to the left the very spacious bathroom with separate shower, large bath, toilet, vanity and basin. Toiletries were replenished daily as were fresh fluffy towels. To the right was the dressing room, his and hers wardrobes. And then in front of you the bedroom and the huge bed which was set low to the floor. Outside you had your own porch with table and chairs. Breakfast was served in the outside dining room, although they did have an inside one if you preferred. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, hot food was prepared fresh for you and as it was buffet style you could fill up as much as you like. The pool is stunning with a pool bar and happy hour cocktails. Sun beds are plentiful and not reserved! We bought in our own beer, coke snacks etc but theirs was not expensive. Superb spa which was so cheap it was criminal, I went back 3 times! Staff very welcoming and typical Thai, very unassuming, very discreet and just lovely.
