I was very surprised at just how amazing this beautiful hotel was. The pictures look great but really don’t do it justice. Situated at the very start of the non tourist peaceful Karon Beach, just across the road, The Village was the perfect start to my holiday before meeting friends in Patong a few days later. The staff were so attentive and friendly, the room MASSIVE (even more so for one person!) and the pool that snaked it’s way through the complex was stunning. The gardens are so lush you have complete privacy and feel like you have the grounds to yourself. Couldn’t have asked for a better breakfast, while it was basic it catered to all appetites and was all you need before heading out for a day of exploring. For a last minute booking and for a planning stress head like me, it was the perfect way to experience Thailand for the first time.
Get a pool front bungalow and you won‘t regret it. Great staff, great food, great rooms, wifi could be faster but in the end we‘re not here for the internet, are we? Beach is very close to walk (5min) but tbh who needs a beach when you have a swim up bar which serves food? Breakfast buffet couldn‘t be better it has a very wide selection from toast to croissant to thai food.
We stayed here for 8 nights whilst attending a close friends wedding and could not recommend it enough. Staff were fantastic. Rooms clean and had a hint of authentic Thai style. Food was great. Close enough to go out in the main towns without being in the noise and hustle and bustle. Karon beach within walking distance. Would stay again. Very lovely.
We visited two weeks on the Village Resort and Spa. We had a quite big bungalow in front of nice and peacefull garden. The bungalow was quite nice an spacefull altough there is a need for updating the facilities. For examle the covering of chairs and soffa were dirty and the towels smells sometimes quite bad altough they were changed every day. The staff was kindly and helpfull - especially a security man who helped us every day to outreach the busy road when going to the beach. We were also satisfied with the spa facilities and massage-treatment (it was worth of expensive costs). However checking out was quite strange happening: we were already checked out and paid the room bill (nearly ten thousand bth*s). The woman in reservation disk has called to our bungalow inspectors that everything is ok in our room. She has also asked us to have a breakfast before leaving the hotel. So I was shocked after breakfast when I tried to take my luggages- the woman in reception called me in a noicy way and asked me to pay 5000 bht bill and asked me where is the "lollipop bag" -it has been missed from our room! I did not understand what kind of bag it was- we did not took anything from our hotelroom with us! I showed the credit card-receipt (already payed) of my previous payment to show that I'm not willingess to pay the same bill two times! I dont know if they found mysterious the lollipop bag afterwards but I was satisfied when I finally met the taxidriver and sat to the airconditioned car in a way to the airport.
Just got back from my week at The Village Resort & Spa. I’ll start off on a high. The hotel is lovely. Rooms were perfect, clean and comfortable. Pool area is relaxing, quiet and lovely to be around. It looks like a tropical paradise. Security guard is smiley and always helpful! Unfortunately, I’ve got bad points too.... Breakfast isn’t the best. Baked beans are like water and croissants and bread can be quite stale. The best fruit, is kept in the kitchen and never brought out to the buffet. I assume this is for the staff? A lot of items were cold. Food is not always replenished either so you need to get there early! There are a few staff members that could do with extra training. There seems to be a very ‘no can do’ attitude. Maybe we were spoiled at our hotel the previous week, The Chatrium Riverside, but the staff always smiled and were polite. We asked if we could have different pillows the answer was no. We asked if we could get different cocktails at happy hour the answer was no. We asked for mats for the sunbeds, the answer was no. We asked if we could smoke at a certain table, the answer was no. I appreciate if this was the case for everyone but another couple (obviously popular with a certain staff member) were allowed to smoke at that same table later that afternoon. Be cautious of snakes. It’s a tropical climate and I appreciate that snakes will be in the area. However when we informed staff, they didn’t try to catch the snake to take off the hotel grounds. Another guest said this particular type of snake was poisonous. All in all we had a lovely time. This was down to the surroundings and the hotel.
PRO_ Pool Villa was lovely, staff amazing, close to beach and restaurants. Great couples retreat with no young children under the age of 12 running around, the Front Village is more for families (located next door). I like the fact that it was a small resort. We had to book out at midday and we were not being picked up by our transfer until later in the afternoon, the staff allowed us to stay and use the facilities and treated us as if we were still paying customers. We came for a relaxing time only and we stayed for 10 days and only ventured out 2 full days intentionally(we went out every night for dinner) CONS WIFI bit of a hit and miss with IPAD's, phones ok. Does need a bit of an update and hopefully will do that sooner rather than later. More soundproofing between walls that are attached
Had a back massage and then facial. Really enjoyed it and felt really relaxed afterwards. Enjoyed my time there . Thank you so much The only thing there were no changing cubicles only one and either end of the large changing room that was for the use of both for the spa and for female swimmers.
We spent 4 days during the Christmas break and celebrated New Years at this location. Awesome place - magical- romantic - beautiful setting - great friendly service - I. Annoy say enough good things about it. Only set back they do charge for water bottle and there is no drinking pitcher around - otherwise it was truly incredible experience
Most of the reviewers are right about how this hotel has seen better days but that's precisely why we love it. It has a bit of the old school forgotten feel about it. The ladies in the reception were always friendly and warm and a pleasure to chat with. The buffet brekkie was very average but it was sufficient for us. The a la carte menu faired better. This is a small resort so you won't find hoards of visitors loitering around the common areas and pools. The villas (we got upgraded to a pool front one - Thanks!) was spacious and lovely. Great for lounging and kicking back with a good book. The walk to Karon beach is not as far as you might think and after crossing a treacherous road, the walk to the beach under a shady path was actually quite nice. At Karon beach there are umbrellas and sundecks for hire. There is also a stretch of little Thai cafes behind the beach. In particular, we love one called "Phanee". Food was simple, cheap and delicious.
Very beautiful and cosy villa with a stone bathtub. The swimming pool is amazing, with a bar serving cocktails. A great variety of trees and flowers, birds singing everywhere. The spa centre is also high level - we tried oil whole body massage and with 50% discount. The breakfast is delicious and different every morning. The staff is extremely friendly and cooperative. We already miss you!
