I am the owner of an American based tour company and this is our fourth time staying here. I can tell you, there is NO BETTER PLACE than Beyond Resort Kata! The food, the breakfast, on the beach, the rooms, the staff and the area is the absolute best I have ever experienced. Can not say enough about the place. Glenn and Liza are the absolute best!! Thank you Beyond Resort Kata for always making us feel like family. See you next time.

Glenn and his crew are the best example of exemplary hospitality I have found around the world. He was attentive and his staff was quick to please, no matter the request. We had a large group and the demands were many. We stayed 2 nights and the location was spectacular. I would recommend requesting the 4th floor if at all possible for the magnificent views. We are also pleased that language barrier was hardly an issue, as the hotel has someone from almost every language ready to assist. We had a wonderful time and would recommend anyone considering visiting to come here. Thank you Glenn!

Initially apprehensive but was very pleased with the holiday. The resort is fairly distant from the Phuket International Airport - 1 1/2 - 2hrs drive. Hotel is right on the beach and in close proximity to local shops and restaurants, which cater for all tastes at very reasonable prices. Plenty of local tours. The ones we chose required fairly long (provided) transportation by air conditioned minivans.

Renovations are completed, we were there one month ago and all that remained was a little painting. There is not a better location in Kata Beach, you step off the grounds onto the beach. There are plenty of deck chairs on the lawn, looking across the sand, across the water at nearby islands. The rooms were comfortable, the air conditioning worked fine. We requested and received adjoining rooms and we were given a complimentary upgrade which retained adjoining rooms (we didn't want or ask for 'connecting'). Staff were friendly, especially if you take the trouble to learn how to say 'hello' and 'thank you' in Thai (khob khun krab [for men] and sawadee krab respectively) which is true throughout much of the world (except Germany for some reason) but seems especially welcomed in Thailand. Apart from the proximity to the beach, there are plenty of great restaurants up and down the adjacent street, Harry's Tailor is across the road if you're after clothes and a short walk up the beach takes you to some great bars to watch the sunset, all were good and we found none any better or worse than another (athough the highly popular 'ska bar' actually offers a lesser view of the sunset because it's somewhat tucked around the corner. Also just across the road from the taxi/tuk tuk/songtheuw stop and the 'fixed price' fare to Patong makes this an easy, hassle free trip for shopping, dining and entertainment. Would definitely return and have already recommended to a colleague travelling to Kata next month. Breakfast buffet was good, dinner the one night we ate in was also fine, room service dining was the only spot that didn't hit the mark.

We stayed in four place during our trip to Thailand and chose Kata beach as had teenagers and seemed to be the best resort for us. There are not many hotels that are directly on this bay so chose this hotel for that reason. Prices here are therefore fairly high for Thailand and we just booked two standard rooms months in advance and requested them next door to each other. We were given rooms opposite each other which was Ok but not ideal but the room temperature was over 25 degrees. We hoped that with they keys in the aircon that it would rectify it but our room kept getting hotter. We told reception and went to the pool for the afternoon. When we returned they advised they had called an engineer and we could go out for the evening by which time it would be sorted. On our return our room was over 30 degrees! Another trip to reception and we were told to move rooms (to the one next to our kids) which had single beds and looked over a busy and noisy street with music blaring out. (The air con was broken thereby blowing out hot air not cold air and smelt .i,e it was burning) 😲 Again back to reception to be told that these were the only rooms available! This is a big hotel and I don't believe for one minute this was the best they could offer. In my eyes the hotel room situation was wasting valuable relaxation time and stress of moving bags etc, the hotel should be bending over backwards to accommodate us in the best rooms possible to compensate and rectify this. The next day we came back from the pool at lunch time as had a trip booked and was told by the room cleaner to get our bags as we were moving rooms! We had literally 10 minutes to repack all our belongings, go down to reception to collect new keys, and drag our bags down the corridor before we had to meet our driver. No apologies, no porters (on arrival we also took our own bags ). Well, that's my rant over ! I will talk now about the good points, it's a shame about the bad start but customer service is key in the hotel industry so they are missing a trick here. Hotel has direct access to beach. Beach sun beds are privately hired though.Nice pool and swim up bar. The restaurant overlooking the beach is good for Thai food (we made the mistake of ordering western food once, just stick to Thai its great). Shops restaurants out front of hotel. (Restaurants of the best selection but ok). The surf schools on the beach are great, our kids loved them And also hired boards too. Hotel has rebranded so maybe things will improve?

The hotel lobby was under complete renovation during our stay. Had I known this when booking, I would have chosen a different place to stay. Arriving to a lobby under complete construction took away from favorable a experience. That said, the hotel has a great location. It is right on the beach and a very short walking distance to several restaurants and shops. I found the room and amenities to be standard. The staff was hit or miss, but friendly for the most part.

Unfortunately I slipped on wet tiles and broke my wrist due to the incompetence of the staff hosing outside of our room where the tiles became slippery. The staff had no compassion or offered me any assistance, it ruined my holiday and my husbands. The hotel has become rundown and our rooms were very musty smelling. There are much nicer Resorts in the area. I will never return. I have written a letter of complaint and have not heard back.

We were very impressed with what confronted us after an early evening arrival. Hotel had had a recent Reno and paint job. Our room was comfortable with a great view across the pool and the Anadaman sea and contained all the requirements needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were extremely friendly and could not have been more accomodating. The Sam restaurant was used for breakfast and dinners. Wether buffet or a la carte it was not supported as I thought it should be due to the prices being asked and also having many other restaurants to pick from just outside or down along the beach. Drinks pretty cheap also. Bedding size and (king) and very nice linen

We stayed here for a week and had a fantastic holiday. From the moment we checked in the friendly staff made us feel really welcome. The manager Glenn was always to be seen talking to the guests. Our room was very spacious and clean with a sea view from the balcony. Breakfast was plentiful and varied and to a high standard all complimented again by friendly staff. The pool area and pool bar were very nice and getting a sunbed was never a problem. As most other reviews have said the location straight on to the beach is perfect. And the pool bar is the perfect location to watch the sunset with a drink or cocktail (or two). A special thanks to Glenn for organising a birthday cake for my wifes birthday she really appreciated it. Would definitely recommend this hotel and look forward to returning one day soon

The room was nicely kept though is a little old. Location was convenient as you walk out of the resort you get various restaurants and massage centres. Didn't get to enjoy the beach as we went during raining season.
