Swissotel Resort Phuket Kamala Beach

Clean and spacious rooms. Food was expensive for what it was, much better quality available at better prices outside of the hotel. The motorcycle hire and laundry at the end of the road were great. Shuttles were only available twice a day which was a shame. No lifts in the resorts

When we originally booked this hotel at the travel agency it was meant to be closer to a family function, turned out it was 40 mins away from where we needed to be. We were treated rudely on checkout!

Stayed for a night at this resort with family just for its proximity to Phuket fantasea, resort rooms are dated but overall garden , pool area are nice and well maintained, kids play area is huge and water slide is an added attraction. Tuk Tuk is available just 100 Mtrs from the hotel and costs 200 bht to Kamala beach, I found Surin beach which is also not far to be more scenic. Was offered late check out at an additional cost as had 8 pm flight . Overall the resort is value for money with decent accommodation and breakfast option.

My third stay over 4 years- This resort has sadly dived to a 3 star resort which is in dire need of a renovation. Staffing are mainly young adults that often came across as dazed and confused. There seemed to be a distinct lack of management visible around to the resort. It has a "forgotten" feel Rooms are spacious but in need of a complete overhaul. We changed rooms after 1 night due the terrible stench in our first room. The second room, whilst better and in good working order, we had to endure a swarm of insects infested on a balcony. It took 4 visits for the problem to be resolved over 3 days. We just couldn't be bothered changing rooms again. The good....Pool areas fun for kids but bizarrely loud nightclub nightclub music ( I'm talking Techno) is played blaring around the pool from about 10am in the morning. I think I saw at least 4 different parties asking them to turn it off or change it. Despite the request it was often turned back on after 15 mins- incredibly bizarre for Thai hotel pool venues with most of the guests being families. Kids club and staff there were always helpful. Front desk- helpful and attentive despite allocating us the worst room in the resort night 1. This place has potential but lacks management- Swissotel standards- you must be kidding!

Room: Excellent and spacious Bathroom: We stayed in a Two-bedroom suite. Bathrooms will win for the award for smallest category in the world Location: Check out Novotel Phuket Patong beach. Compare the views. This one is 0 and Novotel Patong is 10. This is the easiest way to explain. Feel terrible that we booked this place. 10 Kms from Patong. Nothing nearby. Beach access 750mts to 1 Km away. Getting out of the hotel is an adventure in itself (unless we accept an absurd taxi pricing policy) Taxi: Makes us feel living under a monopolistic regime. Absurd pricing to get out. Nearby taxi driver charges similar rates but when we go for kerbside pick ups, he waves other drivers not to offer us a reasonable deal. Breakfast: Free for kids, but not applicable if parent don't eat/purchase! C'mon. Food: We requested for specific vegetarian pasta. Chef made it beyond our expectation. Delicious and perfect! Housekeeping: Satisfactory Television: No USB facility. Hot water: Out of 4 days, 2 days we got medium hot water. After complaining, it got fixed. They helped giving us a temporary room to take shower. Wifi: In one room, connectivity was almost negligible. In general, we feel there is no particular reason why one should stay in this property. Better stay in a property where customer satisfaction has higher priority.

Service is excellent here, friendly and welcoming staff. Rooms are old and worn, only 1 small toilet in a deluxe suite, definitely not enough for a family of 5. It's acceptable but can be very much improved. Read online reviews that the pool would be noisy at night but didn't happen in our 5 nights stay even over the weekend - this hotel is really quiet. Not much people. Even the massage palour outside - its often empty. I was really excited about the kids club but was disappointed. Nice for an hour play or so but anything longer then that kids will get bored. Staff are friendly enough but unenthusiastic about playing with kids. Caught a staff playing mobile games while doing an activity with a child. Pool is great but pool towels stink like hell, it needs a change!! You'd be sorely disappointed if you like patong's atmosphere. Kamala beach is good, beach beds, cleaner and has lifeguards. Surin beach don't bother. It's like a junk beach.

Big pool with a nice garden they even have a slider. The only thing missing is a jacuzzi. The room is big, but the shower room to small. The balcony is big and very comfortable. And the big fridge is very handy. Reminder the hotel is outside the center of Kamala. Fast check-in and checkout.

Upgraded to a first level 3 bedroom which was a hit with my family of 7. Rooms are spacious with a huge living room. Kids slide and room were awesome and they had a great time. Cleaning service was good and a safe area with spa and grocery just outside the hotel which seems exclysive to them. Highly recommended.

Ok first things first, if you are looking for a beach front hotel, look elsewhere! Access to the beach is via foot (about 7min walk) or hotel buggy to the main road (which is a 2 minute walk via underpass to the beach. That walk is.... disgusting. There is a drain to your left, watery pot holes along the way and a huge construction on the right. Yea, kinda like a war zone. If you're not into beaches then there is some saving grace in the condition and facilities in the hotel. Gym is great, spacious with adequate equipment and decent views looking out to some greenery. Kids room is OK - there is a kids movie room, lotsa kids activities which are mostly chargeable with staff who seem to be lacking energy or enthusiasm. There is only ONE restaurant in the hotel. We went for an early dinner at 5:15pm, food only came at 6pm with our orders mixed up. Second time the food came, they got it wrong again. Service aside, food is average. Room is well maintained, though a bit stingy on the amenities - bath rob and room slippers amongst other things had to be requested via room service. Just outside the hotel are a couple of massage shops with foot massage starting from 300 bht, some small cafes.....a rather dull street to be honest.

A reasonably priced hotel. Rooms were spacious and clean. Excellent caring staff. With the cheap prices came the downside. The hotel has only one restaurant, which serves the same menu for lunch and dinner. While the food was very good, the lack of variety was a minus. Some evenings had themed buffet meals, the one that we tried (seafood) was just ok. The breakfast buffet generally was ok, except that a croissant I ate had obviously been frozen, and stored too long. An issue common to open restaurants is birds being able to join the diners, and help themselves. They don't eat much, but I am concerned that they may leave a "calling card". The solution would be to keep the bread covered with napkins. Notwithstanding the negatives, I would stay again.
