Just had a very enjoyable holiday for 7 days at the Swissotel Resort and Spa in Kamala with my Husband and 2 Adult Children, and I must say what a fabulous 7 days we had. This was our 3rd trip back to Phuket and other places we stayed I wasn't as impressed than here. I had researched so many Resorts on where to stay again and within a budget we could all afford, Looking at Karon, Patong, Kamala, and Surin, and out of them all we chose Swissotel and was not disappointed. From Check in to Check out our stay was so enjoyable, the Staff just beautiful and very friendly and always willing to help, the Resort itself was so relaxing, its going to be be our GO TOO for every Phuket Holiday from now on. Even our Adults kids loved the Resort and the position it was situated. Swissotel is not a Beach front Resort which we would have preferred, but had huge and truly amazing Tropical Oasis Pool, which did impress us, and all rooms look over that fabulous pool. (The Pool has its own a swim up Bar too which we made good use of) Has a great area for people with younger kids and babies with a seperate Kiddies Pool with plenty of relaxing chairs Parents can lay around while their children are swimming and playing. There is also a great Water Slide and Waterfall too. The Swissotel has a terrific Buffet Breakfast which caters for everyone and also has a safe play area for children while the Parents can eat Brekky in peace. We had a 2 Bedroom Suite on the 2nd floor with a private Balcony overlooking the whole pool. We had our own Kitchen, and large living space which suited 4 adults well, but we found the bedrooms were a little on the small side but the beds were very comfortable and Airconditioning in all rooms which is a must in that Thai heat. Our biggest challenge we found was only one very small bathroom that combines the toilet, shower and vanity. So with 4 grown adults who were use to their own space all trying to get ready to go somewhere at the same time was a Co-ordinated nightmare to start with, but we got it figured out and slipped into a routine which worked. Right in front of the Resort is a street with handy little shops we used alot, where you can get all your daily staples like a corner store would have, also has Alcohol on the shelves which came in handy at cheaper prices. Further down the street you can hire Motorbikes ($12 Australian Dollars a day ) or Taxi and Tuk Tuk service at your disposal, or you can book a seat on the free Resort Courtesy Bus which takes you into Patong. There is also had a handy laundry service in the street shops also (80 Baht per kilo) which is cheaper than what the Resort Charges. There is even an ATM that takes most Cards, and great Massage places and a great relaxed Resturant with a Pool Table and Bar which we used alot and had many a fun times in there and great meals at great prices. Kamala Beach is only a 6 minute stroll away from the Hotel and was the perfect place to watch the most amazing Sunsets you could ever wish for. There are also so many amazing Beachside Resturants where you can sit and watch the Sunset whilst eating Dinner or having a cold drink or Cocktail or 3. Their were so many great places to eat we tried them all and wasn;t disappointed by any, the food was scrumptious in them all. Kamala is about a 20 to 30 minute drive from the craziness of Patong depending on the traffic, Kamala has a very relaxed atmoshere which is what we were looking for. There is a great Bar right on the Beach a 5 minute walk from Swissotel that just goes off, Great Music, Dancing, Sunsets, Poolparty, Girls, Guys, beautiful people, wow best venue to sit and have a drink and sap up this atmoshere and watch the Sun go down. Honestly Guys go to the Swissotel Kamala you will not be disappointed
We stayed this summer at this resort, and it was a pretty nice hotel. The room was clean, large, and the air conditioning worked GREAT (at 100 degrees out it was really needed). I didn't love the layout of the room with the front door being on the patio then a sliding glass door into the room, but didn't have any problems with this. Our room along with most rooms need to be reached going up a spiral staircase. I enjoyed the open air feeling of the entire resort, but the pool was the best part. The pool was really open and large. It also had two bridges and an island perfect to walk on or swim under. I also enjoyed the waterslide, but get there early to get a chair as they run out fast! The only downside of this resort is how expensive it is, they have a restaurant and a swim up pool bar both are very expensive and just walk to a nearby restaurant. Overall, very nice hotel but a little pricey for food and beverages.
Enjoyable hotel. Only negative was smoking by pool when you are a non smoker who gets sick from smoke. I would stay again, staff were happy and helpful. Environment was comfortable, food was lovely. Location is a 2min walk to the kalama beach.
We’re currently staying at Swissotel Kamala Beach. We are a family with 2,3 and 4 year old children. 2 bedroom is perfect for us. We are enjoying every aspect of this hotel. Beach is very short walk, restaurants short walk. Beautiful service from house keeping, lovely service from waitresses. Very child friendly. The biggest disappointment? The “kids club.” Only over 4’s are allowed unattended so we’ve sat in the kids club with them. The staff are completely uninterested in the children and sit on the computer completely ignoring them. My children are not even spoken to until we leave and they say bye. The most interaction I’ve seen was switching on a movie. I find it inappropriate that it’s staffed by 3 men only. We had wanted to pay for kids to be accompanied here but I would never leave my children here. Unfortunately for us this is a deal breaker and we won’t return to a otherwise perfect hotel while it remains this way.
Rooms and toilet are clean. Room services come everyday. Swimming pool is just outside of my room. I love the mini bar also. Breakfast is good too. We satisfied everything with this hotel. We will come again! Thank
Beware if you book a king bed it will be a queen. I'm surprised that companies that are not Thai do not update their systems and put king. We booked a king pool view room and got a small queen bed. The only reason we booked this hotel was because of the king bed option as the other hotels only had double and queen. At least the other hotels were honest unlike Swissotel. They are liars. By standard sizes for Europe, USA and Canada king bed is much bigger then whatever they call their standard "king" bed. I'm very disappointed as I stayed in their hotel in Bangkok and was very happy. This location sucks. Don't bother unless you have no other options.
We stayed in 1207, 2 bedroom apartment has massive open living, bedrooms are small. Ask for pool view on 1st floor, large balcony, easy access to awesome pool area. Staff, like all Thai people are always smiling and friendly Grab a buffet brekkie as part of your stay - the brekkie is amazing, fresh fruit, pastries, eggs, omelettes, pancakes, all freshly cooked Access to Kamala by foot, 15 min walk or by local taxi from the hotel to Patong Must dos - Friday night markets in Kamala / any night on Bangla Road in Patong, Saturday or Sunday market in Phuket plus tour old Phuket Town Eat at Kamala beach, heaps of restaurants you can walk to, cheap and mostly Thai and pizza. In Kamala town we ate at Ratana which was great plus locally at HQ Beach Lounge and Cafe Delmar If want time out to relax, away from hustle and bustle, within easy access to Patong and Kamala, this is the place.
We stayed here as a family (2 adults / 18mo), hotel rooms are no longer an option. Our family needs atleast a 1 bedroom, I found this hotel had a two bedroom for the same price as most 1 bedrooms. Location: 4 minute walk to Kamala Beach, including cafe Del Mar day club and HQ. Quite a distance out of Patong expect to pay 500THB each way (400 if you bargain). There is a hotel Shuttle twice a day 100THBpp). Airport was about 45min drive, organized a taxi direct was easy. Personally we will stay closer to Patong next time as it was a little far out. If you don’t care at all for Patong this place is great Hotel: Nice friendly staff all speak, great English. There is a kids club on site for kids over 4, nanny available 300THB/ hour (booked once) or I used Thai kids home and had a live in Nanny for 6 days. The pool area is great, lots of people throw their towels on the beds at 6am and don’t return till after lunch so very awkward at times to get a lounge. The first day I was told there were no pool towels left so I had to use my own bath towels. I just went and brought some from patong as you don’t get any extra then the amount in your room. Swim up pool bar, drinks are about 300THB including tax a beer is 180 + tax. You can buy them across the street for 45THB. Typical hotel prices. There is a waterside which was a hit with all the kids! And they are always playing games and have activities. Food was good, I enjoyed the Pad Thai! Remember that none of menu prices include 17% tax!! A thrifty option is to go and get food just down the street at Jasleen or Baan Mai all Excellent and a little bit cheaper. We ate at Jasleen everyday, their pizza is the best 👌🏼 We had a two bedroom apartment, there is a kitchens but only a microwave/fridge. No hot water or utensils. It’s good if you wanted to make kids noodles / heat bottles. Beds are typical Thai hard mattresses so be warned if you’re not used to that (I personally love it). Bathroom is very small, no bath. Rooms are also small however lounge is big. If you’re on the bottom floor be warned you will have people walk through your balcony all day long. I arrived at 11:30pm and my suitcases were wheeled through people’s balconies (it’s the walk way). Personally I wouldn’t book one, and if I did ask to be a low number eg away from the restaurant and main walkways (near the water slide). They provide you with kids cutlery and plates - just ask if there is none in your room. I spoke to a mother with a 5 & 7 and their room had kids duvets and soft toys. Lastly, yes there is a gym! Smells like it needs some deodorant but it’s fine. Half the equipment was working while I was there. They have yoga and other classes as per the schedule for free. Note kids are allowed in as there is a ping pong table. Local area: Deck for breakfast was nice Cape sienna for an espresso martini Cafe Del Mar day club (min spend) HQ day club Lots of local bars on the beach up to the left of the hotel French massage - walking distance 300THB for massage Jasleen for local eats Mini mart across the road for snacks Message me if you have any questions
Good location, staff friendly. Down side people leave towels on loungers by pool first thing and go to beach. Staff do not remove them even though sign says they will be removed after 30 minuets. Breakfast good value
Great hotel, very family friendly. Staff were always helpful and friendly. 5 min close walk to beach which was beautiful. Pool fabulous. Rooms were super spacious. Only bad thing we found was beds were super hard. Definitely reccomended this place.
