We have been in Kamala for a few days now when we decided to try this little place. We should of known something was amiss when we noticed there weren't many other dinners. We started off with fruit shakes, which were small and very watery. My starter of chicken spring rolls were small, barely hot enough, no chicken in sight and consisted of something mushy inside. The chicken satay sticks were edible as were the fried wontons. Each starter came out one at a time, so everyone was eating on their own. My main arrived before the last starter was served. My son ordered a pork dish and got chicken. Two of us ordered the beef Penang curry and the beef was dry and inedible. The sauce tasted ok though. My husbands main didn't arrive until we had all finished, and he ordered the fish. We had even discussed with the waitress what fish we were to be served. It was snapper. She then presented him with a beef dish. We sent it back and asked for the fish we had ordered. The fish was average and on the dry side. Please don't waste your time and money on this restaurant. There are so many much nicer restaurants. Even the street carts serve much tastier food.
This hotel is a little gem right in the middle of Kamala. The price was good for the money.Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants just outside the hotel. Stayed here for 14 days in February 2018 with my wife and we enjoyed the stay very much. The hotel room was large and kept very clean and the air conditioning worked fine. Friendly and helpful staff. One restaurant in the front where you have breakfast, lunch and dinner and can sit and watch the people and traffic and one restaurant at the back with nice view over the ocean. Here we sat many lunches and evenings. Soe. the waiter at the ocean front restaurant is a very nice and funny guy serving you with a smile every time as well as the other 2 guys I do not have the name for. The stay included breakfast and if you pay a bit you get a larger selection of food. The pool was nice an clean with plenty of chairs and umbrellas. The only thing was that the older type of compressors used for some air conditioners was a bit noisy at the times. Otherwise we slept very well. We loved this place and we will come back to one day for sure.
Very nice location with the beach in the back and the small mainstreet if you walk out the front. Spacy room (no 104) wich could fit two full size extra beds. Good cleaning and a nice breakfast. The restaurant/beach bar is lovely and the staff very friendly. The pool had maybe a little too much chlorine in it - but was clean and there was always sunbeds available. We hope to return!
We came to Kamala Dreams for late lunch and this place is a nice place if you are looking for quiet place with kamala street view and “good” authentic Thai food. We have tried several places for lunch in Kamala street and so far, Kamala Dreams got the best food if you looking for Thai food. The place is clean and convenient.
Worst hotel I have ever stayed at would not recommended to anyone pics speak for themselves the beach at the back is a disgrace and there was rubbish on the beach you would not swim their the hotel room had no tea and coffee facilities the TV was back from the seventies the shower was discussing and the breakfast was passable coffee undrinkable.
My last night in Phuket here is where I discovered a nice small hotel. My husband has been here number of times and he wants me to experience the hotel and its surrounding. I wish I could stay longer but I will be back! We got the best room in the hotel according to my husband. Our room is just right next to swimming pool. It is a good size room with a big comfortable bed. Breakfast is simple but satisfactory. Staff and services are great, homely and very welcoming. You don’t need to get out from the hotel to find place to eat because the hotel got good restaurant with reasonable price. Plenty shops, massage places, bars and restaurants next door which is very convenience. Did I say I am coming back to the hotel again? Yes, we are! We will bring our family with us as well. 2018 here we come!
We had drinks in the restaurant last week and decided to return tonight for dinner. My wife opted for the fish and chips, she certainly enjoyed her meal as per the continuous comments and even requested the "doggy bag" for leftovers to be consumed later in the evening. I opted for the spring rolls followed by seafood fried rice. Just one word describes - DELICIOUS. My beers were cold and my wife enjoyed her blackberry smoothie. No room for dessert. Friendly service and plenty of attention but not intrusive. The only problem that I have with this review is that I am reviewing a hotel restaurant but the review will be listed under hotels. I tried to add the restaurant listing on TA last year but it was rejected as an existing listing. Where restaurants accept non hotel residents as diners, then I believe that the restaurant should be a separate listing to promote accuracy in reviews.
Kampala Dreams is a good little Restaurant with Thai food and the prices are not bad. We did however find the portion sizes smaller than in previous years. They do a good selection of all the usual Thai meals as well as some Western meals which we did not try. Their ice cream however is amazing. Our usual favourites are Thai green or red, Chicken and Cashew nuts or sweet and sour prawns and these are all good. Just be sure to mention if you want spicy and be ready for it. They also do very good freshly cooked for you, seafood.
I was so dissapointed when arriving the hotel. My order was balcony and seaview. The website describe the hotel as a luxery stay, comfort, tranquility, revuvenation. Go to website for more information, and I will let my pics tell my story. The owner was blind and deaf to my complaints how dissapointed I was. Hotel was dirty, old, and the place on beach was just on the riverbank.
We stayed here for a week late last year. The main attraction to staying is the perfectl location right on the beach. Kamala Dreams is also walking distance to all shopping, restaurants and bars. The staff were all friendly and helpful. They could improve on the included breakfast as the size was quite small. My advice would be to request a room overlooking the beach as our room only had partial views.
